For a 5 star hotel the level of service was disappointing. Many of the staff seemed to view the guests as somewhat of an inconvenience. The service in the dining room at breakfast time was rather chaotic, with tables left uncleared and a line of people waiting to be served. Excellent location next to St. Marco square. Water taxi will come right to the door but you have to take water taxi and not public boat after getting off from a ride from train station. Make sure to arrive before 4 PM, gets dark earlier and is impossible to find anything when it is dark. There are no directions when you arrive and must find your own […] way. Have to take your own luggage through various small streets and bridges to reach any hotel. Baglioni is a beautiful hotel with furnitures and beds from 17th century-renovated so bathroom is large with double showers, tub, 2 sinks-we had Jr suite. Restaurant is expensive but there are places to eat all over the place right outside of the hotel. We rented 1 hour water taxi to the Grand Canal and that was money well spent-hotel will arrange it for you. This is an excellent hotels and we travel a lot. My wife and I loved this hotel. The location was perfect. It's on the water next to one of the large canals, and it's right around the corner from St. Mark's Square. The staff was very professional and helpful. Our room was well appointed althrough a touch small. Very nice bar and restaurant. We would definitely star there again.

Wow! What an experience. We were on a 12 day family cruise and arrived in the hotel via water taxi it was something out of the movies. We were greeted by the hotel manager and bellman at the taxi dock which was at the front door of the hotel. Our rooms were not ready as we were hours early, we were told they would hold our luggage(5 of us traveling)...no […] problem, we enjoyed the lobby which is FANTASTIC and so Ventian, I felt as if I stepped into a comforting, warm, inviting coffee table book. I met with the Concierge who offered me a map and assisted with our adventure! We were off to th Doge's Palace and St. Mark's square which was arround the corner and I mean AROUND THE CORNER! My six year old was on my shoulders and I got a little choked up as I heard "What a beautiful world" playing live on the square. Hours later we arrived at the Luna, dead tired and were greeted by name, and escorted to our rooms. Our rooms were next to each other, not by request, and one was upgraded to a suite. It was as if I walked into a jewel box, the Murano Chandeliers, sumptuous drapes and crisp white linen sheets...AMAZING! Breakfast the next day was in a palatial, beautiful room with fantastic 19th century murals and 3 huge murano chandeliers. Our two day adventure was wonderful and felt as if we were transported into Brideshead Revisited. The hotel was superb, the suite was among the finest we had ever experienced, the service was impeccable and the food was wonderful. The location is literally at the southwest corner of St. Mark's but on a side canal off the Grand Canal so amazingly accessible to the square and the shopping and restaurants but a little private and a few steps removed […] from the crowds. The overall experience at the Luna Hotel Baglioni was a pleasurable one. I decided to spend a bit extra (3 times other hotels) to get a decent bed on the last leg of a tour of Italy before returning home. The room was of course smaller than typical American size hotel rooms but was decorated beautifully. The location was perfect for arrival and departure […] to the airport. I recommend taking the Alilaguna water taxi to the San Marco airport for 1/10th of the cost of the private taxi suggested by the hotel concierge. They never mentioned the cheaper option also I asked if there were other ways to the airport. I found out from another hotel. It was a 1 hour ride instead of a 45 minute ride in a private taxi. The private taxis have older looking, smaller boats. We arrived via train from Florence. There was no pick up service offered by the hotel. We figured it out. We wanted to get ice in the room which would have to be delivered (no ice machines). The ice was free but their was a significant charge to deliver it to the room. A few of the front desk support, especially in the evening were not friendly and not very helpful in recommending restaurants for dinner. The air conditioning worked well as did the wifi most of the time. We also had a nice view of a canal. My overall rating was impacted by the price. Not really 5 star service. Lisätietoja

The hotel and its location, immediately adjacent to Piazza San Marco, were spectacular! My wife, my daughter and her husband, and I spent three nights at the hotel and had a fabulous time. The only problem we encountered was that in early March it was warmer than usual for that time of year and the hotel is not air conditioned. I would really not like […] to be here in the warm/hot/humid months without air conditioning. We kept the windows opened all day and night. Everything is simply expensive. Christmas Dinner is a disaster. Breakfast at Eur 40 per head without any hot food is outrageous. Also the quality of food and presentation is awful. I can not find any reason to go back again.

Cornball classy. My grandmother would dig this place, but for me? No way. I was told to return my key -- which was attached to a 2" in diameter, 1 1/2 lb. brass 'bell' -- to the front desk whenever I left the hotel and pick it up when I returned! Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. Friendly and helpful staff. Had problems throughout my stay with the internet connection, and made the mistake of getting a small load of clothes washed and folded, which cost a small fortune. On balance, very good, would stay there again, and would be careful to check laundry prices!

Consierge and desk staff very friendly. Room service excellent. Bar not very exciting and lobby not very comfortable but did not spend much time in lobby. Breakfast insanely expensive. No reason it should not be part of room rate given price of room.

The hotel is extremely well-located. We arrived at about 11PM, but were too excited just to go to sleep, so we walked just around the corner to hear the midnight bells at San Marco Square. While the room was furnished beautifully, with lovely hanging Venetian glass lamps, gold trimmed full length mirror closets, and a huge bathroom, our one disappointment […] was with the single window - stained glass - that overlooked an alley and trash. Other than that, we felt like a king and queen. The staff were pleasant and helpful. There was a gondola stand right outside the front entrance. Everything was close by. We splurged one morning on the hotel's extravagant breakfast buffet - as much for the experience of dining in such a beautiful room than the breakfast spread that included champagne and smoked salmon. Really magical experience overall and I would definitely recommend it and stay there again. Tip: Because we arrived so late, we opted for a very expensive ground transportation combination from the airport that included a private car taxi followed by a private water taxi. From the minute we got there to when we left we had an amazing time - the hotel is right on St Marks Square and in the hub of everything Venice. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We went to Venice to relax and we were certainly in the right place for that. Although the drinks are expensive at the hotel they are anywhere in St Marks Square […] so no difference there.We went in November and the whole area floods upto about 20cm so if you can pack a pair of wellies it is a good idea or they do sell them in every other shop. The restaurants arounf St Marks vary in price - check the menu before sitting down You absolutely must visit da Peiero Mauro caffetteria open every day from 6.30 am to 2.00 am - its just up a few side streets and is a tiny little place with the friendliest bar staff in Venice (unfortunately I did find the venetians customer service skills a little lacking!!) I still can't believe what a great deal we got through hotels.com to be able to stay in such a lovely hotel in such a fantastic location. Not impressed with the service one bit. For a supposed 5 star hotel the service was poor - arrogant and lacking substance. I have stayed at better 3 star places with nicer, friendlier or more willing to help staff. Be careful as they wont tell you whether your room includes breakfast and when you get the bill you will realise that you have paid 40+ […] Euro's per person per day for a bowl of cereal....
