"Ft. Jackson Graduation"
All the way from LA to Columbia to celebrate grandson's Basic Training Graduation and Family Day at Ft. Jackson - choosing this hotel was the perfect location - just 3 miles from the graduation gate! Perfect. Had a wonderful dinner next door and found two pharmacies and a grocery store just a few blocks away -- what more can anyone want. "Disappointed"
Had room on 3rd floor, we to get ice, ice machine broken. Went to 4th floor, Ice machine broken there too! Had t go to 2nd floor. One of the reasons we picked Wingate, was the Jaccuzi/Hot Tub, but it was also out of service! Went to use so called "Broadband" internet service, it was so slow, would not even play a streaming Video (got about 50kb/sec […] download speed), and the ethernet cable was broken, and it would not "click" into place, thus if laptop was bumped or anything, it would cause you to lose connection. The available wifi was even slower than the already slow wired connection. Went for the free breakfast, there was no coffee in the pot, or no sausage. And the eggs were barely worth eating! The waffle machine however was a nice treat! We had 3 adults, and only got 3 bath towels, which meant we had to re-use the same towels the next morning after taking a shower before we went to bed. Overall, I would not have rented the room if I had known the problems in advance. Was so looking forward to the Jacuzzi/Hot Tub, since both my Wife and I both have back problems. Lisätietoja

"Second Stay"
This hotel is great. Last time we did reserve a non-smoking room and they gave us a smoking room. But, it is always clean and the staff is friendly. We really liked the free breakfast and the women who does it is very nice. Thanks Windgate the price is right too!
"Wingate by Wyndham - Perfect location & great rate"
On a last minute decision to travel to Columbia, SC to visit family, we were able to reserve the room of our choice on short notice and at a great rate. The location was ideal and in an area that was very convenient and familiar to us. Hotel is literally minutes from family, favorite stores and restaurants, and less than 20 minutes from downtown Columbia. […] Our room was very clean and roomy, and included all of our preferred ammenities. Comfortable sleeping. The whole hotel was kept neat and clean, both indoors and outside. The free breakfast was very convenient and offered several choices of hot and cold foods. Very happy with our accommodations that in fact we chose to stay an extra night. "CLOSE TO OUR COUSIN"
The hotel Wingate by Wyndham is minutes away from the person that we visit. We were at the same hotel last year for the fourth of July. We were pleased with our stay there.

Let me start by saying that the employee's that I met at this hotel were very nice. The hotel itself has recently been rehabbed. My room was ready, as was promised. It was clean with plenty of towels as well as other needed items. I went to bed the first night only to toss and turn all night because the bed was so hard and uncomfortable. I went to the […] front desk the next morning to find out if they had some sort of mattress cover that would be thick enough so as not to be so uncomfortable. Of course they had nothing of the sort, but the young lady at the desk and myself finally came up with the idea to put several thick blankets across the bed and sleep on them. I left the hotel for the day for my son's graduation and came in later in the evening. There had been no blankets brought to the room so I again went to the front desk and asked for blankets. The young lady at the desk personally walked down to the laundry and gave me some blankets. Please understand that the first morning that I woke up I was so sore that I felt as if my kidneys had been removed while I slept. ( I even laughed and made this comment to the lady helping me.) After sleeping on the blankets it was better, so I was alright with it. But then I went to make my coffee the next morning . The coffee had not been replenished. "EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT"
I am very picky about where I stay. I usually stay at a Marriott. We stayed 2 nights due to our son's family day and graduation from Basic Training. This hotel was close to Ft. Jackson (3-4 miles away) and still close to MANY stores, gas stations and resturants. Everything was perfect there. Clean room, large bathroom, large flat screen TV, plenty of […] room for our belongings, very quiet, very nice pools, hot tub and exercise room. My pet-peeve is a comfy bed and theirs was VERY comfy. My husband's concern is always the free breakfast and he was very impressed with theirs-which included waffles, egg and cheese bagles, sausage bisquits, juice, coffee and any thing else you would want. My parents went the cheaper route and stayed at the Motel 6 next door and was very unhappy there. I can't imagine finding a better place so close the base at the rate we were charged. Very surprised - at a week when WORLD TENNIS EVENT - GRAND SLAM IN NY was running - on at least 5 channels you could follow Football, but NOT tennis. The only negative remark for this stay.

This hotel seems to have gotten a superficial update. The inside was old, and not appealing at all but it was convenient and the staff was friendly.

I was disappointed. I stayed at this hotel a few times before but this time it was not too good. The room AC unit did not work right which really made for a rough nights sleep. No ashtray, no working remote for the TV, coffee maker and coffee are horrible - the pod makers need to go - one cup at a time is ridiculous when there is 2 of us. Most of all […] I was not pleased with the front desk service. She was unfriendly and acted like we were bothering her at check in and when we called her about the AC unit. "Columbia, SC"
The hotel was clean and in a good location for car travel. Our only complaint was that the pool was closed for repairs----the water was green. The repair man was there while we watched, and the water looked improved as we were driving away.

"No Health Spa"
I had no problems with this visit other than there was no Heatlh Spa as advertised on the site and we had to have our keycards redone several times. All other aspects of the hotel were fantastic: Great breakfast Clean and professional Good location for our needs
The breakfast bar was great it had a large range of choices.

Very clean and very convenient to shopping and nearby interstates. The pool was a little disappointing, but otherwise, it was a great hotel. I will definitely go back!

This hotel was VERY nice for the price. Location is convenient to I 77, but not a real safe area. Unfortunately, there does appear to be many good areas near the highway in Columbia. The staff was very freindly & helpful with directions

Excellent location, close to Army post and very close to places to eat. Excellent access to freeway. Great service, clean, quiet, and nice breakfast! Would recommend to others, would stay again if I have to.

"Nice staff"
Easy to find, clean and nice. The staff at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful. I did not like the one cup coffee maker...since I am a coffee lover. Need to go back to the mini pots. I will stay here again when I travel to Columbia next month.
