Hotelli oli hyvällä paikalla, 20-30 minuutin kävelymatkan päässä päärautatieasemalta, pienellä rauhallisella sivukadulla. Lähellä oli ravintoloita, muutamia pubeja ja ruokakauppoja. Raitiovaunuja meni myöskin ihan vierestä, mikäli sellaisia haluaa käyttää. Hotellin henkilökunta oli ystävällistä, avuliasta ja puhuivat todella hyvää englantia. Hotelli oli pieni ja viehättävä ja aamiainen oli aivan mahtava, vaikkakin kallis. Meidän kannalta sijainti ei kylläkään ollut paras mahdollinen, koska meillä oli paljon tavaraa ja seuraavana päivänä lähtö juna-asemalle. Taksi sinne ei kuitenkaan maksanut kuin 15€. Huone oli siisti ja tyylikäs, mitä nyt hieman pienehkö.

Lovely clean quiet and friendly hotel, ideally placed for access to most of the sights in Amsterdam. Would definitely stay there again.

Chic hotel in a nice area! :) Lots of places to have breakfast/lunch in close vicinity. We did not have breakfast at the hotel and we didn't try the bar- but it's nice to have the possibility! We walked everywere from the hotel! :) But used the tram nr 4(I think it was from the stop called prinsengt) or the central station when we were going to the […] airport.. Our room was small but had high ceilings and a large window so felt light and airy. The bathroom (with walk-in shower) was generous and well appointed. Good location, comfortable and clean. Only issues - the wifi connection didn't reach our room (we were put in a separate building to the main hotel!), there was no full length mirror, we were woken up by the builders working about 5 metres from our room.

Booked an upgraded room over the internet which included breakfast. On arrival in Amsterdam the hotel was easy to find using the tram from Central Station. The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Within easy walking of Heineken experience, and the Museum area. Close to some popular eating areas, either by tram or on foot. super service, nice hotel!

I wanted a triple room and liked the idea of an older property off one of the canals. This was close and we had a light airy room (high ceilings). Room had 4 single beds, fresh white linens. Ensuite not large (shower only)but was well laid out and perfectly OK - more importantly it was v clean. Would definitely stay again

This is a great hotel in an excellent location. I spent quite a bit of time searching for a hotel as this was a birthday surprise trip and i didn't want to end up in a hotel in a bad area. I didn't want to spend lots of money on the hotel which ruled out all the big chains that are closer to the canals. Having stayed in a Mercure hotel before and being […] quite satisfied with the quality I read all the reviews for the Amsterdam Arthur Frommer and found that generally everyone was happy with the location. This hotel had lovely interiors in the reception area, the room was quite small but big enough for the 2 nights we were staying and the bathroom was a good size with a large shower. There was a safe in the room and a mini bar, and the TV had some English channels also. The only negative comment about the hotel in general is that the breakfast is quite expensive. We decided to venture out and have breakfast in one of the cafes which was dramatically cheaper than the hotel breakfast. The following day we had a note on our bed saying 'We missed you at breakfast' and trying to encourage more people to use the hotel breakfast - but the only way to do this is to reduce the cost - which was about £15 per person! I would totally recommend this hotel. It was about 5 minutes walk to the Rijksmuseum and about 5 minutes walk to a wide range of bars and restaurants near the Leidesplein area. We walked from Centraal station - which took about 20 minutes. A Friday to Sunday stag weekend in Amsterdam. Hotel staff were friendly and well presented. The room was well appointed, décor to a high standard and very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Amsterdam

Lovely hotel in a lovely location. The decor was very quirky and the staff were very friendly. The day we stayed tho there was a power cut on the whole street so sat in darkness for 3 hours which ruined our night and no discount was offered. I only stayed for one night and did not have breakfast, so I did not spend that much time in the hotel. However all my experiences of the hotel were good - the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was nice (better than what I was expecting for the price) and everything was clean. The hotel was a short walk from central which was why I picked […] it, with all the canals around it's a lovely place to walk and also felt very safe. I really can't think of any bad to say about it! I would say though it is worth paying attention to any other reviewer that HAS had the breakfast - we discovered (on Sunday) that eating places in Amsterdam did not open until 11am, so if you want breakfast before this the hotel may well be your only option. Lovely situation, close enough to the city centre and all the sights, yet far enough away to be peaceful. In fact it was only at the end of our stay we realised just how central it really was! Was given what I can only describe as a cramped box room in the loft, and when I complained, I was told that the hotel was fully booked but I may be able to change room the next morning. We were told we were given this room as we were the last guests to arrive (late flight). So the secret is arrive early (?)!!

We stayed for 2 nights at this property and overall were satisfied with how this was represented on the hotel website. We booked a triple (3 single beds) and were able to check in early. Our room was very small (like NYC) with no space for luggage. However it was comfortable and clean. Note there is no alarm clock or iron and amenities were limited […] to shampoo and one bar of soap which vanished after one person showered. The bathroom could only support one person as the shower did not have a curtain or door and the stahl was very tiny. Only one person could use the bathroom at a time. The location was good - located on a side street (which is hard to find upon your first time to the hotel.) However, there was a lot of noise on the streets and if you're a light sleeper, this isn't the place for you. The hotel is easy to get to from the airport, accessible by three types of transportation: Taxi, Connexxtion Bus or or train/tram (16, 24, 25 - 5th stop to Wetering). For walking purposes it's a 10 minute walk to the museum district, and 20 minutes to the old city. You may also take the tram lines which are fairly easy to navigate, once you have your "card". Plenty of restaurants are close by. The hotel staff was friendly, although they certainly didn't go out of their way. There is no concierge, so you're limited to the map they provided and the word of the staff. In my opinion, this property is more like a 2+ star hotel, but having the restaurant for breakfast bumps it to a 3 star. Lisätietoja

A team ride from the centre but with some nice 'local' restaurants and a couple of coffee shops if you want to smoke pot! It's a clean no nonsense residential neighbourhood and feels extremely safe. The hotel is good, comfortable for European standards at the level. No evening restaurant but good breakfast buffet. Eugeny is Russian and runs the bar, […] and is very amusing. Worth visiting him. Quirky hotel tucked away in the canal district - like many hotals in this area you may get below ground level rooms which aren't great. The heating was weird/non-existent in the bathroom, and the toilet smelt dirty. Service was good and generally all OK so would stay again and would hope to get a better room.

Nice hotel with clean rooms and public areas. Close to tram and 10 min walking to central restaurants etc. Not too touristy. Breakafast quite expensive byt very fresh with organic products. PS: Lovely organic store just around the corner.

A bit of a distance from town centre, but very nice and would stay there again. Cheaper option too.

Nice, clean hotel. Very happy with our choice. Parking a rip off though, and didn't validate our ticket at the park and ride properly. Rooms maybe a touch small.

We were pleasantly surprised by the standard of our hotel. All 3 couples thought it was excellent. Naturally the rooms were a bit on the small size but they were very clean, new and modern. Breakfast was too expensive so we ate at the local coffee house. A short tram ride from central station. Decor was very dated. Our room was all blue including the ceiling. The large white light fixture had bugs trapped in it. Too dark too dated. Great location but I think there is better value out there.

the staff was friendly, the hotel itself is very nice, comfortable beds, its clean, quiet and everything you should see in amsterdam is easy to reach by feet or by bike. i would go there again.

A great place to stay in Amsterdam. In a good location away from the hectic areas surrounding the train station. Great staff very helpful. Rooms are great with super comfy beds! Highly recommend for couples, families and travellers looking for comfort at a competitive price.

The Mercure Amsterdam Arthur Frommer is a little jewel of a hotel tucked away within one of the many small streets of Amsterdam. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, providing us with sound advice to help us with our holiday. The comfort of our room was excellent with the decor/ furnishings well maintained. A great hotel to the south of Amsterdam, lots of bars and restaurants within 10 minute walk. You can also walk to Dam Square and the station within 20 - 30 minutes. Overall the hotel was comfortable, clean and the staff was very pleasant. We were a bit disappointed with the lack of basic hotel amenities, such as sewing kits, lotion, and bathtubs. The hotel is a decent walk from the center but the price is good, the staff are great, my single room was quite comfortable, and the hotel is on a quiet street so noise is not an issue.

We arrived at the hotel after an unexpected one-night delay, so were tired and looking forward to the European hospitality we'd come to expect after travelling to other hotels. Unfortunately, our first impression of the hotel was marred by the completely unprofessional rudeness of the hotel front desk person, who also disputed the fact that we'd booked […] a buffet breakfast option (which we had), which was annoying. The breakfast, incidentally, doesn't include hot food, which I'd expected too. The room itself was fairly comfortable, although the bathroom was super tiny. Hands down one of the best hotel experiences I had on my vacation through Europe. Staff is very helpful, friendly, and professional. Fantastic location; exceedingly clean and comfortable.

We found this hotel on Hotels.com and were delighted with it. The three nights we stayed were very comfortable. The room was clean, spacious and the bathroom excellent. The typical dutch colour scheme was a delight! Location is good, in a quiet area just outside the central area, but with good transport connections to the centre, and within walking […] distance to the museum district. Staff were helpful and the breakfasts had the usual vast spread of goodies. The ONLY problem we had was that the cleaners didn't seem to think it worthwhile taking away our used wine glasses from the mini bar each day so we had to ask the bar for replacements. Prisvärt hotell med bra standard, rent och modernt. Lugnt läge men ändå centralt och gångavstånd till allt; ca 10-20 min promenad till Damtorget, shoppinggator, marknaden i Pijp, museum, Jordaan etc. Dock onödigt dyr frukost, det är bättre att gå 5 min promenad för att äta frukost på cafe'. Rekommenderas varmt!

Det eneste negative jeg kan trekke frem var at det var bygningsarbeid som foregikk i nabolaget, men dette kan jo selvsagt ikke hotellet noe for. Kjempegod service, og fine og rene rom, i tillegg en utrolig god frokostbuffet. Bodde på firmannsrom. Ville definitivt bodd der igjen!
