This hotel was beautiful, in a great/central location and the staff was warm and friendly. I will stay there again next time I am in Charleston.

Overall, we had a nice stay at the HarbourView Inn. The location is good and most of the staff was friendly and helpful. We were, however, VERY disappointed with our view--basically of a power plant and another building. The continental breakfast was also a little disappointing in terms of the options. The HarbourView Inn is a great place to stay in Charleston SC. Breakfast in room each morning, wine and cheese at night, and cookies and milk in the evening. The rooms are so comfortable and the location to downtown can't be any better.

Wow! What a super nice place to stay, the staff makes you feel so special and give alot of attention to all your needs. I will come back again to stay.

Wonderful staff.... from front desk to bellman... Fabulous feather pillows...Tempurpedic beds... Complimentary breakfast tray brought to your room each morning... Quiet location off East Bay Street...conveniently located near great Charleston restaurants without all the noise...

Great location, knowledgable and friendly staff, nice touches, wine and cheese, cookies and milk, valet parking.

My wife and I had a choice of Charleston Place or Harborview. We are so glad we chose Harborview! Great service and accommodations. Loved the wine and cheese hour by the fireplace. Will stay there again next time for sure.

Upon arrivng in our room I found that there was a shower robe missing. Not wanting to be charged for a robe I contacted the office and they brought another. I then checked the bathroom and upon lifting the lid on the toilet I found residue from the previous occupant. Wonderful place, wonderful service, wonderful people.

Great hotel in the center of everything. Loved having breakfast on the rooftop terrace. Only complaint was the lack of hair conditioner and that booking through Hotels.com apparently does not guarantee your bed preference. My husband ended up with two queens instead of a king for our anniversary. However this was corrected the following day.

From the minute my husband and I arrived the hotel staff treated us like we were royality! From taking care of our bags to making a reservation for dinner, everything was done with perfection. We plan on coming back.

The hotel is on the water front and walking distance to small restaurants. Unfortunately the Hotel is very old and needs major upkeep. The staff was very attendant, however they lacked the class that goes with an expensive Hotel. I would not return.

My husband and I just spent a long weekend at this Inn. We have stayed all over Charleston and this location is great, very convenient. We really enjoyed being on the water this time. The hotel is small and very clean. The staff was very pleasant and the room was just right. Breakfast was complimentary and that really meant a lot to us as we had it […] delivered to our room. They had a nightly turn down service with chocolates left on the pillow. Our only real complaint was that the elevator was not working. Our room was on the top floor and that wasn't fun. We did see elevator repair people working on it but it could not be repaired the entire weekend. Not fun after walking around Charleston every day to have to climb the stairs to our room. The manager offered 10% off a future stay, which was really not acceptable considering the inconvenience of having to climb stairs all weekend. In the end, after calling Hotels.com, we received a 25% discount on this stay which we thought was very fair. Hotels.com responded very quickly to our concern and took care of it while I was on the phone! The only other negative for us was the TempurPedic mattresses which we really don't care for but we realize a lot of people like. Hotel is very convenient to nearly everything. The beds have the new foam mattresses--very comfortable. The best is a choice of 4 different breakfast selections served in bed or on the deck. The view is very good from the deck and from the water front rooms too. The wine and cheese in the evening was very nice too. The only issue is there is not and […] exercise room. We stayed here before our cruise. It is extremely convenient to the cruise terminal. THe hotel was very cozy and located in a great area. We were able to walk to dinner and there is a pretty fountain right outside of the hotel. I also really like the robes in the room and bought one. I would definately stay here again. This was a perfect place to stay.. great location, most helpful and friendly staff, with lots of extras. There was warm cookies and milk available every night, after tea in the lobby every afternoon. I would actually look forward to staying there again. There is a small bistro/cafe just around the corner on Bay St which was also delightful!!

The HarborView Inn is a beautiful hotel in a great location in Charleston. The only thing that upset me was that they charged me for valet parking in a secured area and I later found out that our car was parked on the top of the City garage next door. The staff was helpful and friendly. In fact, I worried that the manager would scold the desk clerk […] for letting me know where the car was parked. The manager was not as friendly as the staff. Our room was very clean and the rest of the hotel was well maintained. The amenities like the wine and cheese offering and breakfast in our room were very enjoyable. The location is within walking distance of all historical sites,shopping and restaurants. We ate at the High Cotton, Poogans Porch, 82 Queen and Slightly North of Broad. All were excellent. Right on the bay with a rooftop deck for relaxing, jars of M and Ms, coffee always on, the nicest breakfasts served either in your room or on the deck, not to mention comfortable beds (and how!), clean spaces, quiet, and right in the midst of downtown Charleston! We loved it and would rate it far higher than a "5" if there were such a rating.

The Harbor View is a great place to stay if you want to see downtown Charleston. We walked to almost all the historic sites, no real need for a car. The staff were all attentive, easy to talk to and very helpful. However, the hotel does not have many "usual" amenities - no pool, no exercise room. This hotel was beautiful inside. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooftop terrace was amazing at night and had amazing veiws. The neighborhood was great also, there were many things to do and places to eat within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again!!!

I booked the upgrade on hotels.com for a night away with my wife. Upon arrival, we were given the standard room. We did get the upgraded room and it was very nice, roomy and comfortable. This was a beautiful and well located hotel with an incredible staff. Before we even checked in, the staff went above and beyond in order to make sure our stay was the best it could be. We've stayed here several times and haven't been disappointed.

BEATIFUL LOCATION, IN THE HEART OF CHARLESTON, DO NOT CHANGE A THING. WONDERFUL STAY.

Das Hotel liegt am Hafen der wunderschönen Stadt Charleston. Unsere Hotelzimmer waren stilvoll eingerichtet. Leider war der Blick aus dem Fenster nicht sehr stilvoll: Direkt im Hinterhof ist eine monströse Hochspannungsanlage. Alle Zimmer mit Blick in den Hinterhof hatten den selben unschönen Ausblick. Für ein Hotel im Ruhrgebiet mag das akzeptabel […] sein - nicht für ein Hotel in so einer historischen Stadt und mit so einem Namen. Das Personal war nur soweit freundlich und hilfsbereit, wie man es mit Dollars gefüttert hat. In diesem Hotel muss wohl jedes noch so kleine Extra auch mit extra Cash erkauft werden. SCHADE!
