Location.
This beachfront hotel is on South Padre Island, facing the Gulf of Mexico. Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark is a half-mile from the hotel. The Sea Turtle Rescue Center, South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center, and South Padre Convention Center are all about 4 miles away.
Hotel Features.
The 6,000-square-foot outdoor pool features a swim-up bar and a waterfall. A spacious sundeck overlooks the beach. A spa tub and children's pool are also on site. Volleyball nets and seasonal parasailing are available on the beach. A Gulf-view restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktails; live entertainment is presented on weekends. Pearl South Padre is smoke-free.
Guestrooms.
Guestrooms feature private balconies with spectacular beach views. Other highlights include flat-panel TVs, complimentary wireless Internet access, cordless phones, compact refrigerators, and coffee/tea makers.
Please Note: Special policies are in effect during Spring Break. A deposit of $400 per guestroom and $600 per condo is collected at time of check-in. Each guest is also charged a $10 wristband fee, and wristbands must be worn at all times while on the premises. Guests will be charged a $50 fine for replacing lost wristbands. Visitors are permitted, but they must pay a $25 per person fee if they stay on the property after 8 PM.
Extra-person charges may apply and vary depending on hotel policy.
Government-issued photo identification and a credit card or cash deposit are required at check-in for incidental charges.

Pearl South Padre offers complimentary swimming and volleyball. Parasailing can be arranged from the hotel (surcharge).
Snorkeling equipment, surfboards, skate boards, scooters, ski tubes, and banana boats are available for rent from independent operators near the hotel.
Windsurfing and kite boarding are available three miles from the hotel. Dolphin watching, fishing boats and charters, dinner cruises, and glass-bottom boat rides originate from the marina one half-mile away. Surcharges apply.
Guests can use the health and fitness center at a condominium less than three miles from the hotel. Racquetball, tennis, and basketball are available. Surcharges apply.

"great get away"
The staff was great and very helpful and friendly. My room had a great veiw of ocean and bay. The problem come in the maintence of the building. The hot and cold water was either hot or cold, could not ajust the tempature of the water. The door pass would not work properly, the maintenace person tryed to fix but it still took three swipes to open the […] door. "Not great hotel"
For the price and rating this hotel did not live up to expectations. The pool that is shown on their website was actually part of another complex that hotel patrons do not have access to. The beds were lumpy and the bathrooms very dated with slow draining water in both the sink and tub. Overall this hotel is no more than 2.5 stars.
We enjoyed proximity of the hotel and services to the beach (pool bar, outdoor grill, and restaurant). Eliminated need for a portable cooler and picnic lunch. Services were wonderful. Prices very reasonable.

"pearl south padre in south padre island"
Payed way to much for deluxe king size. Was suppose to be a beautiful honeymoon stay turn out to be a horrible honeymoon stay. What i thought would be an oceanview room was a partialview of the ocean with the dumpster in full view along with the smell. Neveragain. Paid way to much
"OK, but...."
The hotel was decent. We had reserved a premium king bedroom were provided with two queens. Since it was a short getaway for my wife and I, we had to request a change of room which after some persistance it was granted. Also, we were awaken by the loud emergency alarm at 6 am and asked to evacuate the building through the stairs (imagine the sight). "The best"
By far, this is the best hotel in the island. The only other one that I would stay is Hilton, but I absolutely love the Pearl swimming pool and I am not that crazy about the hilton's pool. This is my favorite place at the island!
"Worst Hotel I've ever stayed at!!!"
I arrived tired and ready to relax. After arriving I find out that they are charging an extra 10.00 per person on top of the high daily rate I already paid. On top of that if we have a guest they cannot come up to the room without buying a daily pass of 25.00 which is insane. As I said I was tired from my long drive and was just ready to relax and they […] give me a long check list and tell me I need to go through my room and make sure everything is there. I'm sorry last time I checked I didnt work for the hotel!!! They gave me an hour to bring this long list back, wow really. The stay was ok the view was nice but not worth the headache of having to do thing that the hotel staff should be doing like bringing up fresh towels but instead we had to come down from the 8th floor and exchange our own towels. Well after the long weekend of working for the hotel check out was horrible since we had to wait for someone to check the room for any stolen items or broken items. Wow really, and to top it off it seemed like they only had one person taking care of this duty when they had over 200 people checking out this morning. "Nice hotel - just a little out of date"
My wife and I recently spent 3 nights at the Pearl. Our room was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. The room was a little smaller than many modern hotels, but still comfortable. The location is also one of the better ones on the island. On the downside, the souind proofing could use some improvement (doors slamming down our hall woke us […] up). "Pearl South Padre"
The location was very easy to find and the hotel was very nice and clean. Overall, I would say it was a good experience. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly. We went in February so the weather was a little chilly but I still would have liked to use the pool. I'm from Minnesota so I can handle cold but the pool is not heated. I feel that […] all pools, even ones in warmer than average climates should have heated pools. It was like stepping into ice water. The area around the pool bar (which was not open though we did stay on a weekday) was heated but very small. So I tried for the hot tub which was nice and hot but had large chunks or hair and skin(?) in it. When we gave up and decided just to eat poolside, the service was extremely slow. It took a 20 minutes to get a drink and an hour after that for a simple plate of nachos. I think there was only one server but we were the ONLY table there. The view from our room was pretty awesome though. The hotel is kind of situated between other hotels so there wasn't much to do within walking distance, aside from the ocean, though the concierge at the door recommended a great restaurant. "Excellent hotel"
The hotel was excellent. Nice, clean rooms. We had an excellent view of the Gulf. Amenities were awesome. Hotel emoyees were verh helpful and so accomodating. Would definitely stay again.

Everything in the hotel was very accomodating. Everyone was extremely nice and seemed willing to go out of their way to go the extra step to make our trip even better. Close to family-friendly activities and right on the beach, most rooms enjoy beach views and balconies. Although not a luxury hotel, the rooms were nice-sized, adequately furnished and very clean. "Great Hotel"
I have been to South Padre Island many times, but this was the first time I stayed at the Pearl South Padre. I was very pleased with everything. It's a great hotel in a great location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The king size bed and pillows were great. I wish I had pillows like those at home. I will stay there again.

We have stayed here twice. The first time, my wife and I stayed for two nights. The second time, my wife, daughter, and dog stayed for two nights. Both times we had great trips - particularly relevant to the caliber of hotels available at SPI. We have stayed at nearly all of the hotels there, and there is just not a 5-star option. That said, we had […] everything we needed at the Pearl. The pool is great - with separate areas meant for adults, for kids, and then for everyone. The property is very well maintained. The beds are VERY soft - as others have noted - but I say that as a positive. We loved sinking in and napping or sleeping. That's probably just a personal preference, but as someone who typically prefers harder beds, I (and we) loved the soft beds. "Pearl-might be OK for spring break but not busines"
The first room the bed had all kinds of huge lumps and stains, second room was so musty and moldy smelling it gave me a headache. Third room worked out OK. Good location, nice view but for a seasoned business traveler, cleanliness was not up to par.

It was a nice stay but the bed was too soft. There was only a small area of the pool that was heated.
Room was OK and probably as good, or better, than anything available in South Padre. The employees were all very nice and accomodating but there was no safe in the room and the air conditioning was a wall unit which was noisy when on and, as with all wall units, does not give a consistant overall temperature throughout the room. went with several couples, we were all on the golf package. We all had a great time. We'll probably go back again.
The food at the Hotel was okay, not great. The proximity to the beach was awesome. Because it was winter, heat lamps around the pool area would have been nice so we could sit outside and enjoy the sound of the waves longer. Overall, very nice.
Our bed was much to soft. We just sank to the center and had to climb to get out of bed. During our 4 day stay we could not get on the internet with our lap top computer and the hotel would not help us.

"Pearl Resort is beautiful"
We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel (it smelled so fresh!) and the friendliness of the staff. We had a problem with watching one downloaded movie on the TV but the tech did repair it within about 20 mins of the initial call.
"decent hotel"
This was a Sheraton hotel. It does not match up to other Sheraton Resort hotels, but certainly one of the nicer hotels on the Island. If you accept that you are in the Rio Grande Valley, you will be fine with the less opulent accommodations.

"Perfect right on the beach"
The hotel was very clean, the worker where very helpful. My family and I love that it was right on the beach. We did not want to come home, the food was great best time ever.
