Huone ja kylpyhuone olivat todella pieniä. Näköala parvekkeelta suoraan merelle oli ihana, mutta parvekkeen lasiovi päästi kaikki äänet rannalta sisään, joten yöllä oli tuskastuttavaa nukkua, kun rannalla vietettiin juhlia. Myös seinien äänieristykset olivat heikonlaiset. Aivan liian kallis hotelli laatuun nähden.

There are pros and cons of being in a central location. If you want to be where the action is, stay at Moana. But if you need peace and quiet, this is not the place for you. We stayed in this hotel just for 2 nights before our final destination. The hotel overall was above average, but the location on the beach was probably the best in Waikiki. The service was excelleny, the rooms werr nice and spacious, and sitting out on your individual porch is choice. We had three people in our room and only two double beds, so we asked […] for a roll away, expecting a spring, uncomfortable bed. However, we received a 'heavenly' roll away, which was as comfortable as the double beds. The beach is superb, maybe 20 steps from the pool, and you can go out with a towel or chair and stay there all day. In addition, the location in town is great, located on the main road, Kala Kuau, near great restaurants and shops. I highly reccomend the Yard House restaurant and bar for good prices and amazing food and drinks. My only complaints were that the pool and lounge area was small relative to the hotel and guest number. Also, the hotel restaurant's breakfast buffet was very overpriced, in addition to the poolside restaurant. One of the elevators was broken so we constantly had to wait for a ride to our room. Just a beautiful hotel in every way!! Located right on the beach, who could ask for more. The hotel is a timeless masterpiece that has been lovingly cared for and takes your breath away day or nite! This is an amazing hotel that stays true to its roots as the first hotel in the islands. The service is wonderful and accomodating and the rooms are extremely comfortable and clean. If you need something, the service is prompt and the people go out of their way to make your stay amazing.

Not only did we find the hotel first rate but its' location made it easy to get around without having to drive. Most everything we wanted to see or visit was within walking distance. We had a very enjoyable stay and will be sure to recommend it to our friends and family.

This hotel rates as one of the best in Waikiki, quaint, classy and the most central location of any hotel on the beach. We had a Banyan room with a beach view and birds chirping. Total relaxing. I highly recommend this hotel to travelers.

I have stayed at many hotel in Waikiki as I travel there for business regularlly. I have to say the Westin Moana Surfrider is by far one of the nicest and I highly recommend it! The building is absolutely beautiful as is the enormous Banyon tree in the courtyard. This hotel is all about location, location, location. Rooms are nice, but very small. The rooms in the historical part of the building (not the new towers) are like Manhattan sized rooms. We loved staying here mainly because the location is perfect right on the water, the rocking chairs out front were so relaxing, and the beds were super comfy. The common rooms are beautiful and once you get away from the street, it's a relaxing oasis. Nice room. Decent ocean view even though we only paid the city view rate. But ... It's sold as an icon of historic Waikiki and delivers a pretty corporate experience.

Not happy to be charged $30 for a "resort fee" which included "free wifi" two glasses of wine and a "free picture". We did not use any of these items and there was nothing free about it.

I love the Moana Surfrider! My daughter and I go every year for a special little mother/daughter vacation. We always stay at the Moana. We have stayed in all parts, and I prefer the older portion. I love the Banyan oceanfront rooms. From the moment we arrive with the lovely fresh flower lei greeting, to the kind front desk check-in...we are smiling […] and anxious to get out on the lovely beach in front of the hotel. The employees are always there with a smile and a friendly chat, I absolutely love the vibe! Things are a bit expensive, but I still can't imagine staying anywhere else. My daughter surfs out front and I sit under an umbrella with a glass of champagne in hand, what a treat....As we left, with a flight at 10:00 p.m., the front desk gave us access to a hospitality room to take a shower and get ready to head home. Thee was mold in the bathroom, no fan in the bathroom. The tiny TV was so far fom the bed. The maid service was a different time everyday, on one day 2pm, the next 12noon, the next 4pm. The building was extremely old, there was so much street noise unable to block out from doors/windows because of gaps in frame.

If you are looking for a hotel with historical significance, perfect location, and a reasonable rate (for oceanfront Waikiki). This is the ticket. Pros: The Moana Surfrider is ideally located in Waikiki. We were more than pleased with our 'partial ocean view' room and enjoyed mornings and evenings on the lanai. Hands down the best resort in Waikiki. Best location on the beach. Everything is very clean and up to date. Absolutly loved this place. Will stay here everytime I come to Waikiki. Location is right across the street from shopping and resturants as well!

The hotel is beautiful!!!! I love the open lobby and the back courtyard and beach area is amazing. I can't say enough good things about the employees and their service too! However, my friend and I were traveling together and for the first two nights we were put in a historic room with a kind size bed. It was the smallest hotel room I have ever seen! […] Opening the front door touched the edge of the bed, and that's the extent of space surrounding the bed. I think if you want to keep the room historic size you need to keep smaller furniture since it was hard to walk around. Then they moved us to a double bed room after two nights, but it was right over the top of the valet facing the noisy street. That street is so noisy at night with crowds and street performers, and then starting around 4:30 am we could hear valet talking and wheeling luggage racks. It didn't seem like the windows were sound proof at all. We kept thinking "are the windows open?" because it was so loud. I think its crazy you can stay in Manhattan and not hear a sound but here they obviously haven't sound proofed the front windows. We stayed at the double deluxe ocean front. it was so close to the beach. The view was gorgeous. We could see the aura of morning sun rise over the diamond head from the balcony and watched the sun set every evening. Staffs are very friendly and helpful, especially the house keepers.

What can I say. Great old charm hotel. Great Service. However, after booking with Hotels.com and prepaying your stay, you are then hit with a daily resort fee for many services that you will not use. The pool is small and dated. There are not enough sun longes around the pool, so you are forced to sit on the beach sand area within hotel grounds, where […] the hotel charges a large sum of money per day to rent you an umbrella and 2 sun lounges. It made me livid and spoilt my stay to the point where i complained to management and they waived the charges. Would I stay there again? This hotel is situated within the busiest section of Waikiki. If you are just staying in Waikiki, there is no need to rent a car as there are numerous shops around the hotel and you can take the trolley to get to Ala Moana mall. It is a beautiful hotel which is a factor in our selection. However, the rooms are small.Also, some improvement on housekeeping - I found nuts when I opened the drawer where the outlets are and one of the towels have a permanent stain on them. I do like that the rooms have robes and slippers. The front desk was difficult to get a hold of. When you call, they will call you back and there is always a line. They need more than 3 clerks. The only restaurant we went to was the Beach Bar. I had Loco Moco - it was OK,my husband had a salad and he liked it. We were very satisfied with our drinks. Our attendant was also very efficient. My daughter dropped a fork and he replaced it in a second. There is a resort fee which includes parking (at Sheraton), wi-fi, free kids meal with a paying adult, etc. If you are after location, I would recommend it.
