Best Western Shippensburg Hotel - Shippensburg

No elevator. This is a basic hotel/motel. Cheerful employees but all a bit stiff. . Needs thorough cleaning and airing out.

Out of 8 hotel nights on this trip, this Shippensburg Best Western was the worst of the lot. In our room we found old grape bunch stems between furniture. The towels were old. The bathroom is tiny. There is a decent small pool. The fitness room was horrible. Three pieces of ancient, non-functioning equipment in a closet-sized room. I gave up after 15 […] minutes. Luckily, there is a gym down the road, albeit for $10 guest fee. The breakfast was average, except that the scrambled eggs were awful - rubbery and tasteless reheated from the prior day(?). Shippensburg BW. Clean, well maintained. We were thrilled to have a heated, indoor pool, and hot tub. We had been nearly 5000 mi in 2 weeks, and they were welcome relaxers. No resturants in walking distance, but got a good recommendation from the staff, within a couple of miles. Ok we booked one of the two Suites and can I say they were both amazing a friend had booked the other one I had 201 which is the larger of the two and was nothing but impressed. The room was clean the balcony overlooking the pool was cool and the breakfast was above average for what I expected and the staff was friendly. This is the third time I have stayed at the Shippensburg Best Western this year. Each time the room has been clean and well supplied. Shower pressure is very good. The breakfast has a good variety of food and is such a time saver in the morning. The breakfast room is also clean and monitored. My biggest complaint is that the room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke! I specifically asked for a non-smoking room and even had to sign and initial an agreement that I would not smoke in the room. Walls are very thin, we got a call around 10pm saying our tv was too loud. The hotel individual said three people called them, while our TV was NOT loud at all and we heard people running above us for quite some time. I was very happy with our stay at the Best Western in Shippensburg. It was very close to Shippensburg University where we attended a Powwow. The hotel staff was very friendly and informative. Wasn't looking for a lot of hotel, as my son and I were riding ATVs on the nearby trails in Michaux State Forest. This Best Western property must have been recently renovated, as it was a great surprise. Updated, very clean and very friendly/helpful staff. They also commented that the rate I had was "really good"!

We had an amazing experience at this hotel but why would you put a public computer right outside of a guest room. We were disturbed three times after midnight because of teens using the computer. The desk clerk handled our complaint but the computer needs moved. The smells outside our room was terrible - it's almost like the garbage dump is in the hotel's backyard! Then, we go to check in - and the guy ahead of us was given a key and a room - and there was already someone in that room! PLACE WAS NICE, BREAKFAST, FORGET IT.
