Meon Valley, A Marriott Hotel and Country Club - Hampshire (kreivikunta)

We booked the Meon Valley for a night away, thinking we would have two queen size beds to sleep us and the kids. Wrong. Although that had been our request the hotel couldn't / wouldn't meet it and could only put an extra rollaway bed in the room, meaning one of the children had to sleep in our bed. Not great. Not long before that we'd had a night in […] a Premier Inn, which had been able to accommodate the four of us in a room adequately. The amenities were fine and the kids enjoyed the pool. So, for comfort and cleanliness the Meon Valley was as good as the Premier Inn just a lot more expensive and inconvenient. A return visit? I doubt it very much. Lisätietoja

Whilst the hotel it's self was clean and well maintained, I feel that the chaotic nature of the breakfast service let them down somewhat. Guests had to wait for tables to be cleared before you could be seated and I found myself waiting for 10 minutes for breakfast items to be replenished. We stayed with our family (a week later than planned - they changed no problem). We have a lovely break, our 2 young children were made most welcome and the food in the hotel was exceptional

As a family with 2 children under 4 we found this hotel excellent! The room was great, the staff very friendly. We were visiting Peppa Pig World and this hotel was our base, we even managed to get a cheeky swim into our stay! This was our first hotel stay with 2 children and we'll be going back again next year!

As with all Marriott Hotels that we have stayed with previously, the standard of facilities at this particular hotel are excellent. The golf course surrounding the hotel is very well kept and the leisure facilities are very good. The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal that we had was of a good standard however the menu is limited and for a […] family with young children to eat in the hotel each night can work out very expensive. The minibar in the hotel room is no longer in use but if you ask at reception they will arrange for it to be switched on so you can keep your own drinks cool. We visited Paultons Park/Peppa Pig World which is about 40 minutes drive from the hotel and even though the hotel is a little way out from main attractions this didn't really cause any problems as the quality of the hotel made up for this. Had a lovely stay here with my family. Only pick ups were the swimming pool floor was very slippy. Could do with some matting. No Aircon in rooms was unconfortable.

Hotel is fine, however the fire alarm went off in the early hours causing evacuation which is was not good after a 6 hour road trip

Well maintained hotel with comfy beds and well maintained public areas. Bar staff left tables uncleared whilst they chatted and flirted between themselves. Too few restaurant staff could not cope with the numbers at breakfast - everything was running out on the buffet; including crockery and glassware. The hotel was set perfectly amongst a well wooded area, close to the charming little villages of Wickham and Botley. It's the perfect in between to visit both Southampton and Portsmouth. The pool facilities were a great addition for the children, and Wickham Wine Bar down the street provides an excellent meal and wine list.

We arrived, a family of three in need of a well deserved break, in the leafy, country setting of the Meon Valley Marriott. Check in went smoothly and our room was very nice having not long before been refurbished. The only downside to the room was that the refrigerators are no longer used so do not get cold. Not so handy if you wish to keep some cold […] water to hand or perhaps chill a few beverages or snack that you happen to have brought along. We made up for this by getting an extra ice bucket from the bar and was sufficient for our needs. Overall the experience was very pleasant. The bar was reasonably priced, the restaurant food slightly pricey but quite acceptable fare, the staff more than helpful. We enjoyed the facilities such as the pool, steam room and sauna but, as we are not golfers, stayed off the golf course. It's all to be recommended really. If I was to find something wrong I'd be nitpicking. Well worth the stay and we'll be going back in the autumn for a top up. Lisätietoja

Convenient for us as we we staying just prior to a cruise from Southampton. Have used the hotel many times and the service is always excellent. The facilities for golf is an added bonus, plus very good spa facilities. We've always found the Marriott range of hotels extremely good and this is certainly up to the expected standard.

Hotel great Hotel .com Inefficient

A very nice place , but be aware that this is a multi-level facility with only one elevator (lift). Depending on the location in the complex, and if you are taking large luggage you may find yourself hauling them down a half flight of stairs, only to haul them up another full flight. At one point I found myself thinking of the stairs in Fawlty towers. […] The restaurants are well adorned and offer reasonable prices with good quality. the buffet breakfast was excellent with choices for everyone.
