Asiallinen ja kodikas hotelli hyvällä paikalla. 96 st metroasema aivan vieressä joten kulkeminen luonnistuu todella hyvin. Riittävän hyvät aamupala ja ruokapaikat aivan lähellä. Hotellihuoneen ikkuna-aukkoon oli asennettu ilmastointikone, jonka läpi kantautuva katumeteli voi häiritä herkkäunisia.

Hotelli sijaitsee metroaseman vieressä, joten liikkuminen oli helppoa. Yksi torakka oli kylpyhuoneessa, mutta saimme heti uuden huoneen kun sanoimme asiasta vastaanotossa. Muuten siisti ja hiljainen hotelli.

Palvelu oli hyvää, henkilökunta oli kiinnostunut vieraiden hyvinvoinnista, mutta eivät aina ehtineet auttamaan. Tunnelmaa hieman latisti hotellin ainoan hissin oleminen rikki sekä tulo- että lähtöpäivänä, ja huone 8. :ssa kerroksessa... Huoneen avainten toimivuuden kanssa oli ongelmia useammin kuin kerran.

I can't say enough about the staff!!! It was our first visit to the city and they were incredibly helpful. They switched our room without any hassle after an error on MY part. They provided wonderful advice and guidance. The room was awesome and the hotel was in a great location!! Many thanks to everyone there, especially Kari and Landry!!!

We had a very positive experience at Hotel Newton. The room was small, which is typical of NYC, but well appointed and very clean. We had a refrigerator and microwave, as well as cable tv. Service was friendly. We stayed during a busy week in the city so we paid top dollar. If we could get a better rate we would consider going back.

We were in the city for a show at the Beacon theatre. The room is very cozy but clean and the bathroom was clean as well. We have found our new home away from home when visiting the city.

My sister, niece, and I spent Mothers Day weekend in NYC. We chose this hotel because it was close to my daughter's apartment and also had good reviews. We were not disappointed. We stayed in a junior suite, which met our needs perfectly. The room was large for a NYC hotel room. We had an interior room, so it was very quiet. We didn't care that it did […] not have a view since we weren't planning to stay in a room for long. The beds were comfortable. The a/c was not noisy at all, despite what other reviewers have posted, nor was the elevator that slow. We were on the 3rd floor though. The room and bathroom were immaculate, pleasantly appointed. We didn't require anything by way of hotel service, so I don't really have an opinion. The surrounding neighborhood was pretty much what I expected, although we didn't spend much time in it, and is very conveniently near a subway station, a couple of great diners, and Tal Bagels. The service and cleaniness was wonderful. room was a little small but it had its own bathroom. Hotel was half a block from the metro and when we where ready to leave they stood in the rain for us to get us a cab. loved the place and the people running it.

Hotel Newton is a lovely boutique style hotel. Our room was small, but had all the necessary amenities. Our only complaint was the loudness of the window a/c unit. The hotel's location is ideal...on the upper west side with the 96th street subway terminal less than a block away. The front desk staff was cordial. Convenient location and we like this NYC neighborhood. Hotel was clean and staff were helpful. HOWEVER...we did not realize when we booked at this hotel that easily half of the rooms do not have private baths. The room we booked had a shared bath with FIVE other rooms. No upgrade was possible because all rooms with private baths were booked. Sharing […] turned out to be okay--not a hassle--but not exactly convenient. The walls were paper thin. It seemed like the TV from the adjacent room was implanted in the wall at the head of our bed. Our third visit and we continue to feel that the Hotel Newton is an excellent bargain. Staff is friendly and helpful. Very convenient to the Broadway subway. Excellent diner next door for inexpensive breakfasts and lunches. Many restaurants in the neighborhood and a nice feeling all around. Rooms very small (typical of mid-priced Manhattan hotels) and […] no surfaces in the bathroom to put toiletries. A few extra clothes hooks would make life easier. One small elevator which was usually OK, but sometimes quite a wait. New bedspreads and curtains in the last two/three years are a big improvement and the hotel is now installing new carpeting. Arrive after 11PM and parking was impossible to find. All the nearby garages were full or closed. Lucky to find a spot on the street. This took over an hour. The room had no air conditioning and was too hot. I will not be returning.

This hotel worked for us, but it's a mixed bag, so you need to know what it does and doesn't have to decide for yourself. The location is right next to the 96th St. station on the Upper West Side, so it's super convenient to the subway. The staff is mixed, the guy who checked us in was very helpful and personable, while the morning staff was indifferent. […] Our room (two queen beds) had very old-fashioned decor, but with a lot of space including a small sitting room. It was perfectly clean and quiet. It had two TV's: one in the main room and one in the sitting room. It also had a microwave and a fridge, but no safe. It's near several places for breakfast. They claim to have an agreement with the gym across the street for gym access, but the cost is ridiculously high. They should just stop offering that, because the cost is so high, it's just annoying. The staff was very friendly. The hotel was decent and very centraly located in Manhattan. The subway was across the street, Dinner next door, and convience store. The room was small and the bed was hard, but really goes to NYC and spends time in your hotel room??

When comaring to other hotels in Manhattan, this hotel must be outstanding with its proximity to the express-stop subway station and a couple of restaurants. I definitely recommend you to consider this hotel as one of your candidate hotels.

Hotel is right at the 96th street stop of the subway, everyone was friendly and the quality was really good for the low price. Next door is a cafe that has a good & hearty breakfast for an amazingly good price. Over all - very recommendable. Only, the walls seemed to be not quite sound proof ...

No luxury, no frills, but convenient if you have to be in the neighbourhood. Hotel Newton gives correct value for the price, especially in Manhattan, where prices went over the roof. I would stay there again.

The hotel is located a 30 second walk from the 96th street subway which from there it's a 10 minute ride to Times Square. Lots of good restaurants and shops surround it. The room and bathroom were cleaned spotlessly every day and fresh towels supplied daily aswell. The room also had a large flat TV and a clean working fridge and microwave. Handy if […] you didn't want to eat or drink out. You can also phone the diner next door who are only to happy to deliver your order to your door. All the staff we met were very polite and very helpful, nothing was too trouble for them. We got offered a map on arrival, I said no thanks, wife said yes please, fellas take up the offer you will need it. Great location for my trip. Easy access to subway. Most of my activities were at Columbia Business School. Easy to get to via subway. Good location for other activities & restaurants along Broadway corridor. Friendly, professional staff. Very firm beds.

They allowed me to check in around noon. The desk clerk recognized my name from when I stayed there frequently a few years back. He gave me a free upgrade to a room with private bath. We had the surprise to discover that our restrooms were not in our room but at the end of the hall and that we had to share with another room. Needless to say it was not a great surprise!

Steps away from 96th street Subway station which connects to every major stop in Manhattan, close (10 min walk) to Central Park,and for a longer walk (10-20min) you can reach Times Square. For an overnight stay it was convenient to where our friends lived and clean. Was a bit chilly overnight and could not make it warmer than 62. A fridge and microwave made it very comfortable for our 4 year old.

The whole "two rooms sharing one bathroom" thing is disconcerting, which makes the reservation process worth while to upgrade to the double suite. Aside from that, the hotel was very clean and the staff was EXCELLENT!

It's right next to the subway and there are plenty of good places to eat without leaving the block! Staff was very helpful and friendly. If you drive into the city, the parking garages have a good deal the hotel. My only complaint was the room was a little warmer than I would have liked and we had no control over the heat (so we cracked a window).

Hotel was clean and comfortable. It was in an ideal location being very close to subway lines 1,2 and 3.The room was a bit too hot for our liking but it would be churlish to complain.

The price was very competitive and our room was a good size for New York. The front desk staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The room was extremely quiet which is a real plus when you're on Broadway.

We are a professional couple over 60. We have stayed at the Hotel Newton several times in the last 7 years and have tried other hotels as well. On balance we are happiest here. There is a doorman and a competent, pleasant, helpful desk staff.The price is fair in the NYC market and the room (910) was a notch above. There is a desk chair but no reading […] chair. Our only complaint and a minor one. A coffee pot, a microwave and a refridgerator large enough to go to Zabar's and get cheese, bread, beer and wine to keep handy. Vegetable market on the corner. No minibar which is fine by us.This section of Broadway has a planted boulevard with benches for a little bit of greenery right out the front door. Also, you don't have to bolt across the street. The 96th st subway is a block North and the EuroPan breakfast rest. is just past the news stand a block South. The location is good for cabs too since 96th is 2way and crosses the Park.There is a rest. in the block that will deliver room service. We didn't try it but it has a good look to it. There are 2 garages aroung the corner at $25 a day ($3 off with a hotel stamp) One is a Hertz Rental place too. We're done with the NYC Hotel Search. It was especially good because the staff were so helpful, accommodating, and friendly. The desk clerk called to find play tickets, the room was cleaned around my schedule when I got sick, and everyone was very friendly. Besides, it had very reasonable rates and very nice rooms. I was presently surprised when I walked into this hotel. The staff was friendly my room was more than adequate. It had a huge refrigerator a microwave and a flat screen tv. The subway was right out in front of the hotel .I've stayed at more expensive hotels in manhatten with less. The cheaper price was probable do to the fact that the bathroom was shared. […] I have never stayed at a place with a shared bath but this was a last minute trip so I had no choice. I was dreading this my whole drive to the city but not once did I have to wait for the bathroom or shower.
