Excellent for the price it was. Nice, clean neighborhood of Ann Arbor near the North Campus of UofM. Buy the room for double beds because the price is about the same but more roomy. That is what I did - alone. Free room phone calls around all the USA ! I liked the simple breakfast too - it was all fresh and ok tasting even if it came out of bags...Danishes were great ( I do not usually even eat pastry). The only negative I found was that the walls are not the thickest! Ask to live in the 3rd floor and in the court yard (front side). While in town try Red Hawk's fajita salad, and Olga's Kitchen! ( I used to live here for school in the 90's and they have been around since!)

"Nice Surprise"
We booked a deluxe suite for a business weekend and were pleasantly surprised at the overall quality of the hotel and the room. Based upon price, we did not expect things to be as clean, updated, and prepared as it really was. Would come back again for either business or pleasure. The location was right off the highway, but far enough away to avoid […] noise. This specific location was near MANY restaurants, shopping, malls, etc and handy to all parts of Ann Arbor. "Okay, but won't stay again"
I am new to the Candlewood Suites concept, did not know housekeeping only comes once a week, and if you want clean towels or more coffee for the room, you have to get it from the front desk. We were in town for a football game at Big House, great location for that, stadium was less than 2 miles away.

Although room was a "smoke free" room, it smelled like it had been smoked in. It was not a fresh odor. Bathroom floor could have been cleaned better. Offered packaged food for sale to eat, but prefer a complimentary breakfast or nothing at all. Front desk could be spruced up and have more of a welcome appeal. "Recommended hotel"
The bed is comfortable. Half kitchen, desk, free wifi, bathroom were all great. Hotel staff was friendly. Would recommend this hotel. The only downside was the air conditioning didn't work right.
"Would recommend but for the noisy sleep"
Hotel was well maintained & decent for the price we paid. Close to shops & food & an easy ride to the University of Michigan & downtown Ann Arbor. Felt like a very safe area. Had washing machines available & a kitchen in the room. Would recommend the hotel except for the definite negative that the hotel was pretty noisy for sleeping - at least during […] the warmer summer months. The AC kept kicking on every 20 minutes or so & was very noisy. Also in the early morning hours the doors to the rooms were heavy & you heard everyone going in/out. "bath condition"
My overall stay at the hotel was good except for the problems that I had with the toilet constantly over flowing! I had to contact the front desk twice about the toilet overflowing. The first time around 1:00am and then again the very next morning. They were prompt in getting tyhe problem resolved!
"OK"
Room had a peculiar odor. Bed was to be queen however it was only a double bed, (that was in all rooms, mis representation on the web-site). Staff was courteous but not helpful. Next time I would look for something else.

Clean, amazingly comfortable bed, close to a variety of eateries and stores as well as the highway (and in my case the offices I had to visit). Good price, friendly staff. All you could ask for the purpose.
"Great hotel for a great price"
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the Candlewood in Ann Arbor and it will always be our 1st choice! Love the size of the room, full-sized fridge, microwave, range, dishwasher, lg. bathroom, recliner, TV w/DVD/VCR player, and comfy bed. It is close to U of M and MHNI for medical treatments as well as great restaurants & shopping right off Ann Arbor […] Saline Rd. and Washtenaw Ave. It is nice to be able to go to RedBox around the corner to rent movies! "Candlewood Suites--great for tailgating"
This hotel was clean and nice (though the room had a funky smell), but the real benefit was how close the hotel is to the Big House in Ann Arbor. While others waiting in traffic, I made the 1.5 mile walk in no time! The hotel was also close to grocery stores, restaurants, and a mall. "Loud"
We were put on the first floor hallway near the check-in desk and the fitness room. It was LOUD. We heard everything that happened in that hallway, all night long: Every conversation, every piece of luggage, every footstep. "Daily Cleaning Absent"
No one changed the sheets and towels or made the beds each day. No one staffed the motel lobby desk during the evening and night. One person was having a hard time getting his room key because no staff was present.

"Nice for the price"
I thought the hotel was just fine, especially considering how cheap it was. I did find myself driving to find something to do, because basically this is in a business district/office park, and you have to be near the university to find a coffee shop or something to do. But I actually really loved the room, the kitchenette, and the great staff.

Excellent hotel for the price. Loved having the kitchenette in the hotel so we were able to save even more money and eat in the room. The rooms were clean and had plenty of room for the two of us. Excellent value!

"best value"
Best value for the money - complete kitchen, very well stocked with dishes and utensils to prepare anything you want - dish soap included (not provided in other kitchen-suite hotels). Very clean room, everything in good repair. Quiet, nice neighborhood. I loved it!
"Candlewood Suites Ann Arbor - convenient location"
We were at the Candlewood Suites in Ann Arbor, Michigan, our first visit to this area. We were in town for the Thunder Over Michigan in Ypsilanti (about 15 minutes away from our hotel) so the location was great, lots of shopping available across the street, good restaurants and I-94 was a stones throw away. Every restaurant we went to the employees […] were so nice, friendly and helpful, they also suggested places to see and helped us with directions. Over all it was a very nice experience. "Perfect."
It's cheap, clean, and comfortable. The mini kitchen was awesome. And it was only a 5-10 minute drive to downtown Ann Arbor.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, but it was clear that smoking had been permitted previously. Our room and the hall smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke and it was somewhat bothersome.
"A great stay for the price"
We had never stayed at a Candlewood Suites before, and despite the fact that the rooms are designed for extended stays, our one night stay was comfortable and the price was very low for what we got. Great business travelers hotel. Clean, friendly hosts, helpful, good bed, Genuinely concerned with our comfort. Free laundry machines, free internet connection, handy dandy workout room and snack area combo, nice kitchen and supplies in room, hairdryer. The list goes on. I'd recommend to anyone.

Having not stayed at a Candlewood Suites before, we were not aware of the way the hotel is run. There was no cleaning service, etc. We were only there for two days, but I think the hotel had been recently renovated because the room smelled of carpet glue or new flooring. Otherwise, it was fine.

"Needs improvement in housekeeping"
Our arrival was quite late (10:00 - 10:30) on a Saturday night. The room we were assigned had not been cleaned...They finally did find another room & that one was fine...This probably was just a mix-up with housekeeping & could have really been a problem if there weren't any more rooms available. Not a good first impression & it was a pain to move all […] of our stuff to another room on another floor. Neat, clean and very functional. A junior suite is a bit compact but everything I needed was there, including a small, equipped kitchen. One could easily cook meals and work in the room, albeit in fairly close proximity to the bed. The little mini-mart off of the lobby had a good stock of basics, especially handy for late night milk & cookie runs... "Praktisk rom"
Grei belighenhet på hotellet i utkanten av Ann Arbor, når en kommer kjørende fra Detroit. Et lite "food court" ligger like i nærheten, hvor det er ulike restauranter. Ellers er rommene utstyrt med kjøkken, og er veldig bra om en vil bo der over en lengre tid og ønske å ha denne muligheten. Det er ikke langt til shoppinsenteret Brairwood mall (5-10 min […] å gå). Fikk mye for pengene - det eneste negative var at jeg følte rommet luktet gammel røyk - men det var ikke røke rom. Utstyret i rommet var ok, men alle rom er i ferd med å gjennomgå renovering (oppslag med bilder i lobbby), så det er sikkert enda bedre utstyr å se frem til. Lisätietoja
