Olin nyt kolmatta kertaa samassa hotellissa. Paria seikkaa lukuun ottamatta olin erittäin tyytyväinen. Suurin harmi oli se, että bide-suihkua ei ollut, ja se suihkujärjestelmä, joka oli, toimi alkeellisesti. Säätö ei toiminut, vaan vettä tippui jokaisesta kolmesta kohdasta, vaikka miten olisi säätänyt. Veden tulo alkoi aina kylmällä vedellä, ja sitä siis tuli joka tuutista. No, kyllä tilanteen kanssa oppi pärjäämään. Toinen harmi oli se, että vaimoni yöpyku katosi liinavaatteiden mukana, ja takaisin sitä ei saatu.

Hotelli on kohtuullisen hintainen. Sijainti aivan metroaseman vieressä, josta pääsee manhattanille melko nopeasti. Aamiainen on ihan okei, tosin tilat on aika pienet, joten oli melko ruuhkaista välillä. Huoneet on todella siistit.

Sijainti oli todella hyvä. Hotelli sinänsä oli myös ihan hyvä ja palvelu oli moitteetonta. Huone oli pieni pettymys, kuvat olivat antaneet paremman kuvan huoneen kunnosta. Tosin hotellissa on varmasti parempi kuntoisempiakin huoneita. Mutta huone oli kuitenkin siisti ja palveli hyvin meidän tarpeita (kävimme pääasiassa siellä nukkumassa). Voisin suositella.

Hotelli oli hyvällä paikalla, lähellä Time Squarea ja teattereita. Huoneet ovat siistejä, ja henkilökunta ystävällistä ja avuliasta. Suosittelen hotellia. Lähellä oli myös paljon ravintoloita. Ainut miinus ikkunoiden huonosta äänieristyksestä. Kadunpuoleisiin huoneisiin tulee paljon melua kadulta.

Vietimme hotellissa 10yötä tammikuussa 2012. Huone oli oikein siisti ja sänky hyvä. Huone oli kooltaan todella pieni, jopa pienempi kuin nykissä yleensä. Kylpyhuone mukaan luettuna noin 9m2. Sijainti oli hyvä, lähellä metroa ja muutaman minuutin kävely times squarelle. Mikäli hinta pysyy tarpeeksi edullisena, voisin harkita uudestaankin.

Huone oli todella pieni, mutta siisti. Matkalaukkuja (2 kpl) ei mahtunut pitämään auki huoneessa tilanpuutteen takia. Kadulta kuului äänet todella selvästi huoneeseen, korvatulpat mukaan herkkäunisille. Ilmainen langaton netti. Palvelu ok ja sijainti hyvä.

"Pienin hotellihuone jossa olen ikinä asunut"
Washington Jefferson Hotel New Yorkissa oli jonkinlainen pettymys. Varasimme kaksi huonetta, joissa molemmissa piti olla kaksi erillistä sänkyä. Kuitenkin vain toisessa saamistamme huoneista oli, eikä huonetta enää pystynyt vaihtamaan. Huoneet olivat naurettavan pieniä, vessan ja suihkun oli näytti lähinnä joltain komeron ovelta ja hyvä kun huoneessa […] mahtui kääntymään. En ole koskaan aikaisemmin elämässäni käynyt näin pienessä hotellihuoneessa.. ja silti tästä kopista piti maksaa pieni omaisuus. Tunnen oloni ryöstetyksi. "Pieni mutta siisti"
Olimme miehen kanssa viikon lomalla. Mitään kummempaa palvelua emme henkilökunnalta tarvinneet, mutta aina ystävällisinä tervehtivät vastaanotossa. Huoneessa oli n. 160cm sänky, joka oli todella mukava. Lisäksi pöytä ja telkkari. Huone oli pieni (matkalaukut vaikeuttivat liikkumista), mutta riittävän kokoinen nukkumiseen/lepäämiseen. Excellent location, small but very clean nice rooms. Beds were excellent and good conditions. No noise or disturbance from the streets. Housekeeping was 2st class. Little minuses was the heating, which was set on maximum whole time, and adjusting the thermostat did not help the situation. Also lighting fixture on a ceiling would have been nice. Hotel room was quite small but very clean and nice. Bathroom was just renovated and very handy. Our window was on street side and there was some noise but not bad at all. Location is great if you want to live near by Broadway but not in Broadway. Good metro connections. And nice breakfest places on 8th avenue.

Kokemuksesta tiedän, että hyvällä tarjouksella NYCistä voi saada paremmin varustellun, 2-3 kertaa suuremmankin hotellihuoneen samaan, tai jopa edullisempaan hintaan. Plussat: - […] Hyvä sijainti (lähellä paljon ok ravintoloita sekä keskeiset Broadwayn teatterit sekä Times Square) - Sopii matkailijalle, joka ei halua hienostella turhia. Lomamatkalla vietetyn hikisen kaupunkipäivän jälkeen on mukavaa, kun aulassa ei ole bisnesmiesten drinkkitilaisuutta vastassa. - Kylpyhuone oli siisti ja muutenkin huoneiden päivittäinen perushuolto sujui moitteetta. Pyyhkeet ja lakanat olivat aina ojennuksessa jo aamupäivään mennessä. - Mahdollisuus kahteen erilliseen sänkyyn, joissa sai nukuttua varsin kelvollisesti. - Ilmastointi (tosin hyvin äänekäs) - Mukavat siivoojat. - Hissi, jos sellaista tarvitsee. - Bussiterminaali, posti, 24/7 ruokakaupat kukin kohteen luonne huomioon ottaen verraten lähellä. Neutraaliudet: - Mukava ovimies. Amerikkalaisesta tyylistä poiketen hieman välinpitämättömältä vaikuttava vastaanottohenkilöstö, jonka voi kaiken myymisen ja kuulumisten kyselyn keskellä nähdä myös positiivisena asiana. Prinsessakohtelua odottavalle tämä voi olla miinus. - Metro A (kaikki vuorot) kulkee JFK:n kentältä n. 10 poikkikadun päähän. Kuivalla kesäsäällä matkustettaessa metron sijainti on ok. Punaiset metrolinjat sijaitsevat lähempänä. Miinukset: - Huone oli pieni ja pimeä. Valaistus oli kaksi jalka/seinälamppua, jotka valaisivat erittäin huonosti. Valoa sai parhaiten avaamalla television. Ei lainkaan kattovalaisinta. - Liian pienet säiltystilat jopa kahdelle miespuoliselle matkustajalle. Pieni ja matala muutaman henkarin vaatekomero, jonka alaosassa oli tallelokero, johon ei mahdu MacBook (aiemmin on mahtunut). "Poor quality for surroundings"
Other reviews said rooms are small. I thought it was about average. However there are virtually no amenities. Your heating is old radiators and cooling is a dorm style window air conditioner. The bed was a 1/4" peice of pressboard with a matress on top. The hotel just seems like something from the late 1800s that has had very minor upgrades. I spent four nights at the Wshington Jefferson Hotel, and had a great stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is close to some excellent eateries on 9th Av. and an easy walk to Broadway, Central Park and MoMA, as well as many other attractions that are nearby. On my last night it was a bit noisy between 1 and 3am, but I would attribute that […] more to the lack of consideration of the people in the neighbouring room. The decor is dated, and about ready for some modernisation, but it's not unpleasant - and there's so much to do in NYC that time spent in one's room is likely to be minimal. I opted for the standard room - one size above petite - and would describe that as compact, and definitely wouldn't want anything smaller; however I don't know how much smaller a petite room is. My daughter and I have stayed here four Aprils in a row. The amount of free floor space in the two-bed rooms, but the room is clean and everything works. "good for stop-overs"
Room was a classic NY-tiny (which was fine) and the bathroom was new fixtures and clean, which was great. No temperature control in room, so was a little hot (April), had to sleep with window open; thankfully not too noisy. A very good value.

"Good but beware of small noisy rooms"
At check-in we got a room that was the smallest hotel room I have ever seen. It was so tight that the bed only had a bed table on one side. The closet was really small, to be homest this room was not suited for two adults. On top of that the noise from the street was reall ybad, due to the air conditioin being mounted in the window with poor noise isolation […] as result. We got a new room the following day with two separate beds, this was a larger room with two seperate beds, a large closet and a larger bath room with a hot tub. Besides the hazze with the room the hotel was good, free wifi and good overall service! The surroundings are good, lot of good restaurants on 9th avenue! "Nice hotel in 51st Street"
This hotel is small but very conveniently located near two subway stops, restaurants, delis, drug stores and walking distance from the Theater District, Times Square, Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller Center. My only complaint is that the room was very small and there was hardly space to store clothing and other belongings.

"Great location, great value!"
You cannot beat the location! This hotel is well maintained and clean. The staff are extremely helpful! Be warned however that the rooms are TINY--extremely difficult for 2 people to dress at the same time. Also, there are virtually no surfaces to place toiletries and things on and very little room for clothes. Still I would stay here again.

Hotel was very convenient, but the room was even tinier than I guessed after reading other reviews - like an office cubicle. Room was dusty, and the hotel overall needs a clean-up and refurbishment. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, which was a big plus.

Bathrooms very clean, room ok (rugs old), bed ok comfort, housekeeping staff is super nice, front desk peeps ok. I'm not sure why this hotel has gotten such high marks bc it's just ok. My room was very small, but, wasn't bad. Nothing to write home about but not terrible either. It was inexpensive and clean, and that was enough.

This is a perfect hotel for spending a vacation near Broadway. We stayed in a standard room with a queen bed; it's small -- but hey, this is NYC. It's clean and comfortable, with a modern bathroom. When there was too much construction noise on the street outside our room, the front desk went out of its way to give us a better room. (the rooms on the […] backside are quieter). The service is top notch and staff is friendly. Something for you to know: if you want the heat turned on or turned off, inform the desk. If you need a/c, if there's not a unit in your room, they will bring you one. It was unseasonably warm while we were there, and the a/c worked great. The hotel wi-fi is free. "Awesome location, excellent hotel staff"
This is our third time at the WJ Hotel. We love the location, close to subways and other major NYC sites. The room size is very small, however, after a few days, we adjusted and all was well. The hotel staff are very accommodating. We highly recommend this hotel to those who want a central location for an affordable price.
