It was slightly far from the city centre, a taxi would cost about £6, but it is about a mile from micklegate, so not too far if you want to start the day from there. Good service, wouldnt say excellent though. But staff was welcoming and room service was good.

It’s a bit out of the city centre, but its clean, tidy, and has comfortable beds.

Lovely hotel brilliant helpful staff very knowledgeable and helpful only down side we as very noisy guests in room 124 and across the corridor but the hotel can't help inconsiderate guests . lovely pub across the road to eat in and excellent bus service into York. Can walk to town if energetic not too far at all.

Constant noise in the corridoors early hours in the morning on both nights of our stay, also the distance from York city center is very far. Staff polite, room clean but will pay the extra to stay somewhere else next time.

I booked through Expedia and specifically looked for triple rooms, Holiday Inn came up so I booked them, though when the window opened on their page it came up as a twin room for 2 adults even though I selected 1 adult and 2 children. When we got to the hotel I mentioned the problem at booking and they put in a camp style bed for my youngest. AFter […] sleeping in it she told me it was very uncomfortable and the springs were sticking up. I ideally wanted 3 proper beds which is what I looked for when choosing a hotel as my youngest has had to sleep on tiny temporary beds in the past and as she is now 11 I didn;t think it fair to keep subjecting her to that. This is a great hotel situated a 20 min or so walk from the centre of York. Very comfortable stay and the free parking was an added bonus. Would stay here again.

Lovely hotel, staff fantastic and friendly. Unfortunately the hotel was approx 35minute walk into town, which is great in the summer, but not so great when its cold and wet. The room was clean and tidy but could do with a bit of an update. Room serviced every. Fantastic pubs and convenience store nearby.

Not happy about the price of breakfast.Also I have written to General Manager regarding a bottle of wine purchased at the bar for £18.95.on Sunday evening which when opened when we got back home was vinegary and undrinkable!!Will not be staying here again.

The room was clean, comfortable and quiet despite being on a ground floor. The breakfast was also very good with quick and attentive service. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The Staff at this hotel are so cheerful and helpful they make the stay so very pleasent. The hotel is very clean and well looked after with good car parking so you can leave your car and travel to the centre of York by foot or bus or taxi both of which are a very resonable cost. We will certainly use this hotel again

Myself and my husband were meeting up with friends to celebrate a Birthday, we booked this hotel last minute, but were not dissapointed with our room, we did upgrade to a deluxe room which was roomy and very clean, staff were helpful and booked taxis for us when we needed them.

Apart from the room not being ready at 2pm, we had an excellent stay. Hotel was very clean and everyone slept really well. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel is in a good location, only taking between 5 & 10 mins (depending on traffic) in a taxi to reach the city centre. The 'bar snacks' were quite pricey but most hotels are. The only negative I would highlight is the 3rd bed. We had three 20 something girls staying in the room, two standard single beds which were fine however the 3rd bed was a […] basic camp bed which was VERY springy and not at all comfortable. Overall I would stay at this hotel again but if we were to have three in a room I would definately ask for additional blankets to pad out the third bed. Lisätietoja

This hotel did what it says on the tin. The room was okay, but the bathroom was very small; much smaller than comparable Premier Inn or Travelodges I have stayed in. House-keeping seemed insistent that we would only have two towels too even though there were three of us in the room.Overall service was friendly and efficient. we walked most days just right distance for people who liked to walk it is pleasant goes by the race course and nice to take in the scenary.. there is a bus stop right next door. staff very pleasant most appreciated by my son amd myself was that we could leave our luggage there after checkout and continue to explore york until our train left late afternoon […] bussing back to get our cases an hour before..breakfast was a pound or 2 over what we thought was a good price so had breakfast at another location on our way into town however price of accomodation was excellent so we were averall pleased ... taxi cost about 10 pounds from train station the morning we arrived once again we were able to leave our cases as we were too early to book in overall a great stay Lisätietoja

A quiet comfortable hotel.Fridge in the room was a bonus.A fair walk into town. Shame food was so expensive in the restaurant but would be very happy to stay here again.

very dis satisfied with bar prices, very expensive, also breakfast considering we only had continental breakfasts, we were charged £25.90, as no one explained if we had asked at reception we could have received tokens and had breakfast for £19.00, therefore after some debate we were refunded the difference of £6.00.

Absolutely fine, able to leave car at hotel and take bus into York for exhibition and naturely shopping, plus excellent places to eat

The staff on the reception and at the evening meal were a little chaotic - but the breakfast was good and the rooms very good. A bit outside York if you intend to walk in

My husband and I were please to staying in the Holiday Inn in York. Despite there were not enough milk or coffee (only 4 little tubs of milk and 2 sachets of coffee have been given for 2 people staying in one room) and no hot chocolate drinks were provided for. Also we have only been given one little tube of shower and 1 shampoo for 2 people to use […] (not enough), there were no fridge facility. The hotel food services left much to be desired. If you book ahead at the convenience of the front desk you can get "meal" tickets which give you meals at reduced rates. breakfast is the only meal where the hotel really serves the guests. the food is extensive and of excellent quality. If you fail to reserve a table for supper by 4:30 you can find yourself […] reduced to having to eat the same food in the liunge on a silly little bar lounge table. Nasty.Another silly restriction was only having skimmed milk in the guest's rooms for the in-room coffee and tea. When questioned I was told that it was for the health of the guests. Thought I was in charge of my health! I will not be staying at a Holiday Inn again - not in Canada nor in England/Europe. Great pity as the room was very comfortable and clean. I I looked up B& B York, and came up with the Holiday Inn York, but when I booked in was told it was room only. I was disapointed and did not use the hotel again. We ate breakfast and dinner in York. The room was pleasent however and we enjoyed our stay.

Myself and my friend had a lovely stay at holiday inn york in order to attend a friends wedding. When we first arrived we were able to hear a man in the next room who was 'up to something' but other than that there were no problems. taxi to town cost £6 on average. no biscuits with the tea and coffee making facilities... shocking haha

Handy location for city centre in a quiet area. Hotel looks dated from the outside but very nice inside. Receptionists on friday night and saturday morning both helpfull. However the one on saturday night was unable to give local information on the bus service and was not helpfull! Room was nice and clean and I will definately stay here again.

Plenty of parking spaces which were monitored closely during three days of horse racing at the nearby track. A bit far out of the city for a casual stroll but situated in close proximity to regular bus services into the city.Staff helpful and curteous. Disappointed with room on arrival - one bed looked as though it had been slept in and remade with […] same douvet and pillar case; empty shower gel left on side of bath; toilet not fully cleaned; the complimentary water was opened; We were offered either another room or the room to be re-cleaned. We chose the latter but the receptionist didn't check with us to see if we were satisfied. Fortunately we were. The evening meals on the first night were a little slow to be presented but the food was enjoyable. Breakfasts were good. A nice quiet neighbourhood.
