Excellent location, close to main tourist attractions.

Me and my boyfriend had a lovely stay at The Shakespeare. The room was well presented, clean and comfortable. It's location is superb for a trip to the RSC theater or a break in Stratford-upon-avon. The service was good as they were able to look after our bags after we had checked out.

The hotel is very centrally located and has a car park (that you have to pay to park in). Wifi is available, you also pay for that. The lobby is very nice with multiple fireplaces where you can have drinks, dine, or enjoy afternoon day (prices seemed reasonable to us). We were more than happy with the hotel and the room we were given. The bathroom appeared to be newly refurbished and the room was both comfortable and a good size. We would not hesitate to visit again. The only small bugbear was the fact that the carpark is first come first served and so we had to leave our car in a multistorey. Met expectations. Breakfast was excellent. Service from staff was natural and flexible. Just make sure you set aircon to a temp that suits.

Good location, long walk to our room was significant disadvantage, car parking not easy and needs better signage before arrival, fire escape wouldn't be easy,... but overall ... Staff knowledgeable and helpful, food very good, location is excfellent.

Great stay, lovely log fires in bars etc. Room comfy and full of character. Hotel is centrally situated for all sights etc. parking expensive but convenient. Plenty of cafe and coffee spots on the doorstep for breakfast, lunch etc and all very reasonably priced.

we have stayed at the Mecure several times but will not stay again , the website said there would be bottled water in the room there was not also it said breafast was £10 it was actually £15.50 so we were not very impressed b butterworth

The stay was just what we needed nice and relaxing in a lovely clean and welcoming environment

Our stay was only let down by very poor breakfast service on Sunday morning. Very limited hot food available and a long wait for it.

The entrance to the hotel is really beautiful (Tudor-style house) and is near all the important things but only a few rooms are in the tudor building. The rest are in the backyard and they're not so nice. We asked several times if breakfast was included and they said yes. Ideally situated hotel with parking for cars in the centre of S-on-Avon. Perhaps a little "tired" but charming all the same. Our room was a bit like Harry Potter's = under the stairs on the 1st floor, but that added to the charm. Fair value for money with a welcoming open fire beside the bar.

This hotel is great. Some rooms are a little older and were a tad chilly. The people working there are very friendly but maybe not the most customer service oriented I have seen. The breakfast here is simply amazing. The hotel is beautiful, the lobby is nice, cozy with the fireplace. The location is prime for shopping Stratford or walking to the Shakespeare […] theatre. f you plan to do shopping, be sure to plan to spend from 10am - 5pm as the shops are not open early or late. This hotel has been refurbished superbly. We come to Stratford for the weekend every December for our wedding anniversary, the hotel is lovely with open fires in the lounges and the rooms are beautifully comfortable. The location of the hotel couldn't be better in centre of Stratford to drop of your shopping and go and do a bit more, or come back to […] put your feet up. This is the second time we have stayed at the hotel and again it was excellent. Although there was major refurbishment going on it did not spoil our stay. The staff were very good and most helpful. Excellent hotel right in the heart of Shakespeare's birthplace - rooms are smallish but bathroom is generous - the building is very old and they keep it immaculately. Really enjoyed our stay there.

Excellent hotel and good value for money. I would recommend upgrading to a junior suite for approx £30per day, as the added benefits are a steal. My wife regrettably became unwell during our stay, and the care and assistance from the chambermaid was above and beyond the call of duty. we would stay again without hesitation.

Quirky hotel! If you don't mind uneven floors, narrow hallways, sqeaky floorboards, you will enjoy this hotel. Comfortable and clean enough rooms but we were at the front of the hotel and road noise was a bit of a problem. This hotel is old and a bit dated but in a way it was a fun place to stay in the birth town of Shakespeare.

We were very satisfied with the Hotel, very friendly staff and of course it is in a wonderful position for the Theatre and the shops etc. Our bedrooms were large and spacious (slightly old fashioned) but I believe the Hotel is having a lot of work done to it soon. Location ideal. Staff friendly and polite. Breakfast V. Good. Room recently refurbished --excellent.

The room was tiny, and the double bed even tinier. I've never slept in such a small one. The bathroom was nicely decorated - and a nice size given the size of the bedroom - but the shower was rubbish and the temperature kept changing. We would NOT stay here again...

This very quaint hotel is in the heart of Stratford upon Avon. It is situated in an ideal position, very handy to Shakespeare's theatre, and all other things connected to him. The hotel is kept in a lovely period theme. The meals were excellent and all staff very helpful.

Slightly tricky to find the car park, but the hotel was lovely. Very helpful lady on reception, lovely room (perhaps slightly small, but we didn't need it to be any bigger), and when we were reluctant to venture out in search of dinner because of sudden heavy rain, we had an excellent meal in Othello's downstairs. nice clean and comfortable room and bathroom. the hotel is a very nice old timber house but with modern facilities. on the downside, the walls are rather "thin".

Very warm and welcoming reception team. Fantastic location in the heart of the old town. Very large bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Only snagging issues were as follows; 1. Door key cards were only working intermittently and had to get these changed by the evening reception team - always seems to happen at the Mercurie chain and perhaps they need to […] invest in more modern door access technology. 2. The iron was leaking so I had trouble ironing a shirt. 3. the biggest gripe was the condition of the white tiled bathroom floor - it was in a terrible condition with cracked and smeared tiles and even loose tiles i.e. one corner was actually sticking out 4mm from the floor surface and was a potential hazard - they really need to sort this out as it does not befit a 4 star hotel. I had stayed in this hotel approx 8 years ago and enjoyed my stay but was disappointed this time. We stayed 2 nights in The Garrick Wing which out of the hotel and across a car park. We had chosen to stay here because of the historic look of the hotel (exposed beams and open fires) and this wing was newer and also in need of some TLC. This hotel keeps to the middle age feel that the building was contructed in. The rooms were fairly small, but we felt added to the effect. Character hotel, and our room was large and quiet for the centre of Stratford. Parking an extra £10. Breakfast was a bit of a downer as service was really slow although the quality of the food was fine once you got it.

Stratford's Shakespeare Hotel is just too much fun! Located near Shakespeare's birthplace and just up the street from the home where he died, the Hotel is perfectly situated. The building itself is several hundred years old, which accounts for the quirkiness of the hotel. Our room was definitely slanted, or sloped, downwards, but that was not a problem. […] I especially loved that many of the rooms are named after the characters and places in Shakespeare's plays; some rooms were even named after the plays themselves. I have stayed at the Shakespeare on many occasions over the past twenty-five years and have stayed there through several ownership changes. I wasn't sure what to expect on this trip because it has become a French-chain-owned hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised that the charm of the hotel has been maintained, while also updating the hotel to provide […] internet access at a very reasonable rate. I had forgotten to print out a confirmation for an event in London and was afraid that I would forfeit the prepaid event, but it was easily accessible via email at the hotel, then forwarded [to the hotel]and printed at no charge. I have always loved this hotel and will continue to stay here, especialy at hotels.com rates, whenever I visit Stratford-upon-Avon! Lisätietoja

Veldig koselig hotell, sentralt i idylliske Stratford. Fikk et meget sjarmerende rom, med kjempestort bad. God frokost, god service - ingenting å utsette på noe. Anbefales!
