The St. Regis Hotel - Vancouver

We booked St. Regis because of the good reviews, amenities and location. Overall we were very pleased to all what hotel offered. Here are some pros and cons: Pros: - Superb location. Walking distance everywhere in downtown area, Chinatown(15min), Stanley park(20min), seafront(5min), Granville Island(30min), skytrain to YVR(10min with baggages, this […] option to YVR is very convenient and cheap. At weekends with fare saver tickets only 2,10) - Great staff, especially the younger man who has studied in Europe (can't remember the name). Very polite and eager to help. - Free WiFi is in my opinion a must nowadays. And in this hotel, it worked smoothly. - Free long distance calls. As we live in Europe this was an excellent bonus to us. - Room (King executive) was nice and kept clean. As we read before the trip, the room might be noisy, if it is located to street, but we found it none distracting. Though our room was in 3rd floor, but still, located to Dunsmuir street. It was somehow nice to be able to watch nightlife from window just before getting to asleep. - Bed was superb excellent! I tend to have bad back, but this bed didn't cause any harm to it, quite opposite. - Checkin and checkout were undetectable. Cons: - No handshower, only shower that was mounted to wall - Breakfast service at weekends. We had four weekend mornings and three of them were lousy. Especially one of them. We got service after 20min waiting, then we got some coffee and juice and made our order. When dishes arrived, they were totally mixed up, we didn't get what we ordered, not even the second try... Fantastic hotel, for a very reasonable price.

Really conveniently located. Great breakfast. Free wifi and phone calls. Great staff. Everyone really friendly the standard room is a little small but I would definitely stay here again.

This is the second time we have stayed at the St. Regis. The location is great but make sure you get a room on a higher floor. We had a corner room which was great because it let in a ton of light however we were on the 1st floor so if we kept the curtains open everyone walking by could see in our room. Plus being on the lower level there was a lot […] of road noise. The first time we stayed at the St. Regis we were on a higher floor and I don't remember having that problem. In order to recommend this parking I would need to have confirmation that a warning message is located in the stair well in the parking lot. We ended up locked in the stair well without cell phone use and only due to being able to walk up about 8 flights we were able to exit . Very frustrating and very inappropriate for safety purposes.

Attended conf. at Trade Center, convenient location, great beds, service and breakfast- I'd gladly return

This is a great hotel with wonderful staff and a amazing location, I have to be honest about something, you can hear people talking and having fun outside but that is something you can expect when you are staying in ANY downtown, and it didnt bother me. I would love to go back to this place.

First I have to comment on the excellent customer service provided by every representative. From the bellman to the manager, they all did their best to ensure my stay was very enjoyable. The hotel itself was quaint with a vintage feel and modernized rooms. The upgrades were fantastic and aesthetically pleasing. And the full breakfast in the morning […] was definitely something to get out of bed for! I only had a few issues; the heat in my room didn't work well and I required a space heater in order to keep my room warm. And the windows were all drafty which made the granite floors very cold (which by the way, the floor heating system didn't work either). I guess that could be expected from a vintage boutique hotel. The service was fabulous and the room extremely comfortable and clean! Felix (the concierge's name I think) was very welcoming and helpful, producing a menu for the restaurant next door and scales to weigh our luggage. The location is awesome and the free internet and international phone calls (yes ... Free!!) were a wonderful bonus after a few weeks […] away from home in Australia. Good: EXCELLENT service and staff. Great complimentary breakfast. Modern, sleek, contemporary rooms. Location can be good and bad. It's smack in the middle of downtown Vancouver, and that is good in that access to the Canada Line, restaurants, shopping centers, and other businesses is at your fingertips. The downside is that Downtown Vancouver can […] remain pretty busy and noisy into the wee hours and the street scene can be heard easily depending on what room you occupy. The St. Regis Hotel in Vancouver was a lovely surprise. We arrived before check-in time but the room was ready - a real plus as we had been up since 6am. Although our Smart Queen room was a little small the space was well thought out so we didn't feel cramped. The bathroom has a very large shower stall with a bench although the shower could have had […] more pressure. The room was a bit cold and didn't really warm up even after I raised the thermostat. The full breakfast was quite good and was served in a very pleasant breakfast room. All of the complimentary perks - internet, phone calls world-wide, breakfast, bottled water - were well appreciated. The downtown location was very convenient. We enjoyed our one night stay so much we made reservations for the return part of our trip. I loved everything about my stay except that being there on a Friday night it was hard to sleep as the partygoers were noisy and the room on the 1st floor was not noise insulated. The staff are amazing- they try to fulfill every request, such as allowing you to get the keys to your room early. I would recommend that you request this before arrival  […] though. Lisätietoja

This hotel is well located if you want to stay downtown Vancouver. The staff are fantastic and will ensure your experience at the hotel is a memorable one. The on site bar is great and the pizzas are fantastic you can actually taste the toppings it's not all dough like you would normally find. I'd recommend this hotel to family and friends!

The entire experience at the St. Regis was wonderful. The facility was lovely and the front desk staff incredibly helpful and charming. I would definitely return.

We really enjoyed our short stay at this very nice hotel. Staff were excellent, as was breakfast (included). I booked on hotels.com and received a great rate, fantastic location, very comfortable beds and linens, accomodating staff. Overall very pleased. Would recommend.

We recently spent three nights at this quaint hotel. We opted for a small room and although it was small, it had more than enough space for our needs. The staff were all very friendly, attentive to our needs and very approachable. Breakfast was excellent and our waitress was extremely good. The hotel is old on the outside but very modern on the inside. […] The elevator was very small but fine. The parking is not located on site but rather in the next building which is a little bit of a hassle but certainly not insurmountable. I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay there for my next trip. The front desk recommended a small Indian restaurant up the street that was very very good - Sutra on Richards. An excellent property - very boutique feeling and the staff could not have been more better. Will stay here again.

Very helpful and friendly front desk help. The full breakfast every morning was awesome - so many choices and delicious. The room was very comfortable and quiet even though we faced a busy street. The pub next door served great food and we felt we were central to everything - we were able to walk everywhere. I definitely will stay at the St. Regis again […] and recommend it to everyone. Excellent hotel and offers good extras to make the stay comfortable such as free international calls and WiFi. Front desk staff really helpful and friendly. My only complaint is the street noise on the weekends as people leave the near by clubs but definitely would stay again if had a room facing away from the street.

This was a nice hotel, however, you have to park out front, on a busy street, in the 3min parking, while the hotel staff hands you a access card to parking the the adjacent building.\ and repeat this step after you have checkout of the hotel. The parking was not convenient at all! I would not recommend this hotel just on the parking issues alone.

All around great place to stay in downtown Van. A quick walk straight down Dunsmuir to Rogers Arena and right in the heart of downtown restaurants, nightlife, shopping and business. The free a la carte breakfast is a huge bonus. This will be our regular place to stay in Vancouver.

Small rooms size but everything else made up for it. I'll definitely be back.

Cant beat the location. 1 block from light rail station, 3 blocks from Gastown, 4 blocks from Chinatown, 1 block from Mall.

We arrived for 3 nights in the weekend, and enjoyed our stay very much. The room was well equipped and very comfortable, the staff was kind, and the location great. If I visit Vancouver again I would definitely come back to st. Regis hotel

For the price, this hotel was a great deal. The included breakfast was quite nice, including waiter service and the option between an omelette, eggs and meat, or a traditional continental breakfast. They did not disclose upfront that parking is an additional $33 per day with a $50 deposit. Made for a nice surprise at the end of our stay... Also, free breakfast was very kind but not very appetizing. Other than that it was a very nice hotel!

The hotel is in the heart of downtown. Can pretty much walk anywhere if you have time. The hotel is right next to the granville sky train. The hotel itself is nice. Hotel staff are excellent. All are friendly and happy to help. Can be a bit noisey in the room with the street noise. You are right in the middle of the good part of the city though so its a small sacrifice. The hotel is right next to a sky train terminal. This Granville station does not go directly to Vancouver airport. However a 5 min walk from […] the Victorian skytrain station nearby will have you at the front doors of the hotel. 3 min taxi drive to the harbour if you want to use sea planes instead of catching ferries. The service was AMAZING! Right from the moment I entered, right up to the moment I left (the taxi I ordered the night before was ready waiting for me as I stepped out of the lift, with the concierge ready waiting to carry my bags). Very nice room, modern design and recently renovated, on the small side but very clean. location was perfect, close to restaurants and shopping, delicious/good quality COMPLIMENTARY breakfast (huge plates, not buffet style) the down side is since it's on a busy street the traffic is pretty noisy throughout the day/night.

This is the 2nd time staying at the St. Regis. Both times we have been very happy. Hotels.com got us the best price too. Be sure to factor in that you get breakfast, free wifi, free long distance calls and other nice amenities included in the price. Yes the elevator is small, but it doesn't bother us one bit! We'll come again.

Rooms were very small. Elevator only allowed 2 people with bags. Scary people surrounding the cars and smoking not cigarettes or cigars next to building at 9pm at night!! Friendly staff until the day to check out. We received 2 calls prior to noon check out asking when we are leaving, and manager said we would be charged if we would not be out in time. […] We were 5 minutes late for free breakfast the last day, and we were told it was not available anymore. Not good service until we paid for an upgraded room. Expensive extra charge for parking and down the street was few dollars for public garage parking. Well this hotel was on the higher end of our price label and we expected a little bit more in this category. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, staff were very friendly, BUT some other things were not as expected. We booked our room in August and requested King bed, we got a so called "smart double" I don't know why they call it Smart? TV was not […] working properly, tone was sometimes loud, sometimes you couldn't hear it, without any change on the remote control. TV picture was bad. Beds as mentioned above, not as requested and if I want to have a king and it is not available by the time I book it, then it should not be available for choosing. We stayed for 4 nights and had breakfast included in our room charge, but problem is, you can only choose from 3 diffrent kind of breakfast, so bassically it is the same every day, how boring. Also you get only one glass of juice and one can of coffee. Parking: No space to check in, you have to use your hazard light to stay on a busy main street, run into desk to get as quick as possible your parking card. Then you have to go to into backyard to a diffrent building where you can park underground your car. Of course then you have to carry all your luggage up, across backyard, walk 100 mtr to check in desk. On our trip we stayed in hotels with half the price but with value parking, which make it way easier.
