We got there on Saturday afternoon and there was construction on the buildings roof and around the hotel as well. We went out later that day and came back late at night. The next morning we were waken up at 7:00 am to more banging from the construction zones. We were unaware of any construction on the building until we got the to elevators and there […] was a note printed on a computer saying that there was construction on the building. Room with one queen bed, very small. Bathroom had no counter, only wash basin. Building very old and in need of freshening up. All in all, hotel and room very tired looking.

Hotel and staff were very accomodating. Our room was clean and quiet. Parking was typical "big city". No complaints...BUT we did have a bad situation when the hotel misplaced our car keys...BUT they did do everything in their power to work around it and make our day work out ...I thank them very much for all their efforts. Overall a good place to just put your head down, very close to things downtown (the Hill, Market etc) but VERY basic accommodations. Internet good.

"Worth the money"
I was overall satisfied with the convenience of the location. Parking can be a bit of an issue with triple parked cars in the parking lot though a full-time staff person is responsible for moving cars for you, so don't worry! I certainly recommend this hotel.

I do not care for surrendering car keys but I guess you think it's necessary.It's not the safe world anymore.Also you said dining restaraunt and cafe while there is only cafe
"Do not stay at this hotel"
I travel a lot for business and have stayed in many hotels from five star to two star. In my 16 year career I have only walked out of 3 hotels....this was one of them. The location is good, however there is only a small parking lot and you must leave your keys with "kids" at the front desk, the bottom parking lot had people doing drugs and the front […] desk said this is normal. Hotel was old and dirty. There is a large construction site right next to the hotel. Basically this property reminds me of a youth hostel…its not a 3 star hotel…the rating is off. "Great Location- Capital Inn and Suites"
In a place like Ottawa where any decent hotel is expensive, The Capital is a blessing at under half the price of somewhere like the Sheraton or Fairmont. The room was large and comfortable, and it was 2 blocks from the Hill, 1 to the canal. Sure the bathroom was a bit dated, but the soft furnishings were all new and "duvet" style.. no dodgy quilted […] bedspreads here! We were only there one night, but unless you need a bellman with a fancy hat and overpriced room service, this place is awesome! Granted there is a large hole next door right now, but that just means you can see the canal! And the noise was minimal (we actually didn't hear it at all until outside.. but were were on the 12th (top) floor.) "Hotel needs a make over"
Very dated rooms, old furniture and very worn out beds. No support at all in the beds as well as the pull out bed. Very little parking and they want your keys so they can move your vehicle because they triple park. Plus additional charge for that. "Stay away during construction"
This hotel in the past has been quite good. Price reasonable and excellent location. However, at the current time, there is massive construction next door with jack-hammering and blasting starting at 7:00am, which can be heard through-out the hotel. Avoid this hotel until construction next door completed.

"Good location & price but..."
Other than location and price there isn't much in this hotel. Cramped room, awful WiFi and the earthing wasn't good giving me electric shocks often. Please avoid if you have an option?

"Capital Hotel & Suites"
Overall generally good, rooms were clean and comfortable. Parking is limited and your vehicle can be moved. The information folder in the rooms shows a menu for lunch and dinner in the attached Le Bib cafe wasn't open in the evenings and was only open on one occasion. Exercise facilities poor.

Decent for the price, dated, heater didn't not work, mentioned after my first night, nothing was done. Room was cleaned below expectations of a downtown hotel.

Not very clean, Old and outdated hotel. There is construction going on right next to the hotel. Large noises and blasts throughout the day. Working started at 7 AM with loud noises. Staff was not concerned or sympathetic.

Did not enjoy the stay here. My room visibly looked old, run down, poor lighting, paint peeling on the ceiling and walls. Very, very basic accommodations and definitely not worth the amount paid for the room even through Hotel.com site. Would not stay here again and would not recommend it. "Great downtown location"
Had no vehicle and no problems, but i can see why there are bad reviews relating to the parking... but other then that had a nice stay with no issues
"Capital Hill - where you want to be for Winterlude"
Capital Hill is right downtown, near one of the entrances to Winterlude and close to the Parliament building. Parking was easy in the provided parking lot. Able to get in and out quickly and easily. Only complaint was construction at the site next door, not much you can do about that though. "Excellent location in the heart of downtown"
The room was cozy but small. It was clean and the service was great. The parking was tight. They overbook the parking and have to leave the keys at the front desk. So once parked, we didn't take the car out till we left.

The gentleman at the front desk was really nice and welcoming! And when we were leaving the next morning he was just as nice! The room was huge, the beds were comfortable, everything was clean, great location just a 5 minute walk from everything and safe! I really enjoyed my stay and I have nothing negative to say! "super outdated"
This hotel is just for the location. Condition is super outfated, feels muggy and old. The gym is only a converted hotel room and the only thing that worked ws the threadmill. Everything else was broken. Quite a dissapointment.
"Convenient location"
Great location for any business in downtown Ottawa. It is a simple hotel that is starting to show its age but has everything anyone could need. I was able to use the free Internet and print out a couple of documents using their business centre.

I wasnt too impressed. I stay in a lot of different hotels in downtown Ottawa. It has pros and cons. Free in room wifi is available which is unheard of, so thats the best thing about this place. However, there was no pool, vending machines are limited and staff wasn't the most accomodating. Most hotels accept a pre paid credit card provided you are […] willing to give a deposit of 50$-100$ which you get back upon check out. I usually pay this in cash as the credit card sometimes takes 2 weeks to refund the money. However the staff claimed that they wouldnt have my money in the morning. I dont understand what they would be spending my DEPOSIT on. Shouldnt it be in an envelope, waiting for me??? In the end I had to leave the hotel to charge my card, through a blizzard. I have never been treated this way before. Upon my return, I was told they were making an "acception just this once". I dont like handing my credit info about, certainly not on the web, and certainly not via wifi which is how I usually book rooms. I dont think it is cause to be treated as second class. Very nice, well maintained hotel in great downtown Ottawa location. Close to all city features and restaurants. Limited parking however. Would definitely recommend to others.

Great hotel location for Ottawa CaRMS interview - easy access to downtown restaurants, Parliament, and transit both to the hospital and to/from the airport. Rooms were clean and adequate for length of stay.

the hotel is in a perfect location of the town. the room was ok, and the staff was friendly. There was not much information about the hotel facilities.
Upon entering room discovered used soap in tub and half empty water bottle. Location is extremely noisy due to traffic and construction.

The Winterlude was in town this same weekend so I bounced around downtown Ottawa looking for the cheapest rate. I managed to find Capital Hill and got a Suite at a reasonable price lower than what any of the other rooms were charging for a hotel.

"Capital Hill Suites - not for my family"
Horrible parking situation. It took 20 minutes to find someone to come to even LOOK at the vehicle that they parked on our bumper. Two other hotel clients in the same situation. Total of an hour to figure out where the keys were and move it so that we could leave. The delay caused a major domino-effect disaster for the day - not worth the small savings. "Great location"
The hotel is in a very good location if you want to see much of what Ottawa has to offer. The only draw-back is the parking ramp. There is no way to go from the parking ramp to the hotel without going outside and in inclement weather it could be an issue.
