Sisäänkirjautuessa hotelliin, vastaanoton henkilökunta käyttäytyi ylimielisesti ja selväsi asiakkaita alentavaan tyyliin - ei katsonut meitä vaan puhui koko ajan niitä näitä vieressä seisovalle työkaverille. Ei tuntenut itsensä tervetulleeksi. Meteli kadulta kuului liian hyvin huoneisiin. Myös käytävältä kuului kaikki äänen kuin olisivat samassa huoneessa […] - yöllä heräsi kun ihmiset kävelivät ohi (eivät huutaneet vaan puhuivat hiljaa mutta kuului tosi hyvin). Huonot tyynyt - epämukavat pötkylät jotka haisi tupakalle (meillä oli tupakoimaton huone). Ainoa hyvä asia on sijainti - lähellä Ku'damia ja Berlin Zoo. Lisätietoja

Erinomainen hinta-laatu-suhde, hyvällä paikalla keskellä kaikkea. kadun puoleisten huoneiden ikkunat kaipaisivat uusimista, mutta pieni miinus muuten mainiossa kokonaisuudessa.

Excelsior hotelli oli kaikin puolin asiallinen kokemus. Aiemmin Itä-Berliinissä asuneena varsinkin sijainti lämmitti, kun U- ja S-bahn asemat lähellä ja siirtyminen itään helppoa. Huonoa oli langattoman (ilmaisen) internetin puute, huone suhteellisen pieni ja hinta kova suhteessa tähtimäärään. Nämä siis tuntemukset kun puhutaan Länsi-Eurooppalaisesta […] neljän tähden hotellista. Siisteys ja palvelu kunnossa. hotelli oli siisti ja rauhallinen, aamiainen edullisempi, kun varasi illalla, aamiainen oli hyvä, välillä vähän ruuhkainen, sijainti mainio linja-autolla ja maanalaisella liikuttaessa. vesikeitin mukava huoneessa. ensimmäiset joulumarkkinat kävelyetäisyydellä.

Pidennettyä viikonloppureissua varten varatuksi hotelliksi hyvä valinta. Varma neljän tähden laatu havaittavissa: hyvä huone (sänky ja kylpyhuone), hyvä buffet aamiainen, hyvä ja ystävällinen palvelu, hienot ja rentouttavat aulatilat, jossa tietokoneet, kirjasto, tulen leimu ja baari. Ainoat huonot puolet oli huoneen aavistuksenomainen kylmyys (marraskuussa) […] eikä hotelli sijainnut Mittessä, mutta S-bahn kulkee jatkuvasti ja hyvin läheltä. Hotellin alue on hyvä ja turvallinen. Palvelussa ainoa mikä ei pelannut oli hotellin vastaaminen sähköpostikyselyihin varaukseen liittyvissä asioissa. Puhelimitse ja paikan päällä asiat hoituivat hyvin. Suosittelen hotellia lämpimästi. Hyvä sijainti, lentokenttäbussit sekä 100 ja200 bussit ja juna/metro parin sadan metrin päässä. Lähellä hyviä ravintoloita Savigny Platsilla. Siisti, hiljainen, moderni hotelli. Suosittelen.

Berliinin "länsi"-keskustan ostoalueiden välittömässä läheisyydessä. Kohtuuhintainen ja silti siisti hotelli, jossa oli loistavat vuoteet, mutta aamupala ei kuulunut hintaan. Nurkan takana oli heti kuitenkin loistava ja edullinen aamiaisdinneri. Myös eläintarhan välitön läheisyys oli mukava juttu lapsiperheelle.

Hotelli sijaitsee mainiossa paikassa kaupunkilomaaajatellen.Lähellä nähtävyyksiä,shoppailua,hyvät yhteydet lentokentälle,lähellä bussipysäkkiä ja metroa.Lähellä puistoa missä hyvät lenkkeilymahdollisuudet.Mahtava aamiainen,tosin kallis jollei tilaa sitä heti tullessa.

Good location, nice staff, very nice bar, good restaurants around the neighbourhood. The room looked a bit "oldish" but was very comfortable, especially the bed =)

Hotelli sijaitsee hyvin juna-aseman läheisyydessä. Hotelli on suuri ja hieman vanhentunut, mutta hyvin toimiva ja hyvä palvelu. Kannattaa kiinnittää saapumis ja lähtöaikoihin hotellista, jotka voivat poiketa tavanomaisista.

We stayed for five nights in this hotel and were satisfied. The lobby was great, really elegant and nice. We did not try the breakfast, but the restaurant looked very good, a bit pricey though. Mukavan rauhallinen ympäristö, lähellä ostoskatuja ja eläintarhaa. Sopiva hotelli myös 1,5-v pikkulapsen kanssa. Miinuksena palvelu hotellin ravintolassa, joka ei ollut parasta mahdollista.

I had booked and paid for this hotel (5 rooms) back in January 2012 for myself and a small group of friends, who are all professionals about 40 years old, for a stay in April 2012. Given the time booked in advance I reconfirmed our bookings at the start of April directly with the hotel and was told everything was fine. On arrival about 2pm, we were […] initially told no rooms were available and that we were being moved to the Holiday Inn which we viewed as a retrograde step as it was further away from the centre (1-2miles) and wasn't 4 stars. Any compensation suggested was minimal and amounted to free transport. Fortunately, one of my friends works in the travel industry, demanded the manager and suggested he reaccommodate us in at least a 4 star hotel in the same area. When the manager began to see we would not be fobbed off and any relocation would be very expensive for the hotel, 5 rooms mysteriously appeared, and he apologised and bought us all a drink at the bar. Whilst we were at the bar we noted other people checking in so the hotel did not appear completely full. This episode aside the hotel is clean, well placed and pleasant. We stayed at the Excelsior Berlin for a long weekend in April. The hotel is situated a few minutes walk from the U-Bahn stop 'Zoologischer Garten,' which was convenient for getting around the city. The neighborhood was far enough out of the centre to feel quiet and comfortable, without it being too far to travel back and forward to the city. They appreciated that not all guests spoke fluent German and were willing to converse in English without us having to ask. We booked the superior room which was a comfortable size. It was clean and tidy on arrival and had everything you could need. The design was fashionable and modern, something you would expect from a more expensive boutique hotel. We liked how the hotel had a bar and restaurant, which are both fairly priced if you don't fancy traveling back into the city. Got a great deal at this hotel. The area around it has lots of bars, shopping, restaurants, and the subway that's 5 min walk away runs regularly to the airport and all major tourist sights. Excelsior Hotel in Berlin. Let me tell you some good things about this hotel. 1) Good location - near the Zoological train/underground station, very convenient wherever you go. Shops are within walking distance. A lot of restaurants you can also walk to. 2) Decor - the lobby and the bar all in good atmosphere. 3) Free Internet - it saves you time […] to find internet cafe or bring your own laptop. 4) TV channels - enough to choose from, and they even provide adult channels (gay or straight) to choose from. Good, though I have not chosen any! 5) Value for money - though it is 4 star hotel, it is reasonably priced, really value for money. However, there are some things need to be improved: 1) Bedsheet - was it due to the cleaning detergents of the bedsheet or bed bugs or the soap in the bathroom I do not know, but my skin was irritated after staying there for 4 nights. 2) Ventilation - please do something about it, the ventilation was a bit noisy. It is only I was exhausted after travelling in the morning, otherwise I don't think I can fall asleep. 3) Breakfast - I didn't have breakfast there, since I was told it is 18 euro, I think it is too much, so I went to a cafe next door (at the corner if you leave your hotel and turn left) for 9 euros, perfect! Quite value for money and the location was easy to get to from the airport and other major stations in Berlin. The only flaws were the service was a bit cold, and the windows were unwashed and it was in such poor condition you could hardly see out.

General impression is fine, the design in the lobby, bar and brasserie was very nice indeed, including food assortment, cleanliness and service. The rooms have not fully met our expectations. The room was fine very clean + comfortable + location was very close to Zoologister Station , the only fault was the TV did not work + the maids were having a argument in the corridor early in the morning , but alas i would recommend this hotel + would stay here again .

We booked this hotel through Hotels.com mainly because it seemed centrally located and the price was great value. I would recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a convenient and friendly base to explore Berlin. The service at Reception is friendly and efficient, and they are happy to help with all manner of problems or queries. Our room was nice, with a comfortable bed and a decent bathroom. The only negatives were that the radiator seemed jammed on and the room was very hot on the first night- but we just opened the window, and then raised it the next day with Reception, who sent someone to fix the problem promptly. Also the lighting was a little dim, especially in the bathroom, and perhaps could have been brighter. Finally the bathroom door didn't close properly as it seemed too big for its frame. Just a small detail which could easily be fixed and which I would probably expect to have been addressed by our next visit. Apart from this, we had a lovely stay and could find no real fault- the only problems I have mentioned are very minor and really weren't an issue. This is EVERYTHING you want in a decent hotel. Staff were courtious and helpfull , room clean and bright will all the necessary ammenities available..loved it and will be back.

We arrived late with our 2 year old! The room was overbooked. Hotel said we needed to confirm our stay prior to arrival, however on hotels.com says we didn't need to! Be careful, check you have a room, they put us in another hotel but spoilt our holiday start, not funny when you have to unpack and pack constantly with toddler in really cold weather! […] Sorry. I WAS DISGUSTED AT THE HIGH PRICE WE HAD TO PAY FOR MUSIC - 200 EUROS. THE INSTRUCTIONS WE WERE GIVEN WERE THAT WE HAD TO PAY 22 EUROS FOR THE FULL STAY OF 3 NIGHTS. IN ALL MY YEARS OF TRAVELLING I HAVE NEVER HAD TO PAY FOR MUSIC AND IT SPOILED THE END OF A LOVELY HOLIDAY IN A LOVELY CITY. We were upgraded to a suite of the executive floor. The room had an upstairs living room with amazing views over the city. The staff were polite and friendly and helped us plan our days out. It is 300m from the S and U Bahn station at the zoological gardens and about 500m to the Europa centre. Very clean, comfortable, slightly larger deluxe room. Breakfast was copious in the pleasant restaurant. Only downside was when we arrived, tired and hungry, we expected to be able to eat in the hotel restaurant, to be told that it was closed for a private party. This was a great hotel centrally located and the staff were very welcoming and could not be more helpful. The front desk staff all spoke very good english. The rooms and bar and restraunt was very professional. A GREAT PLACE TO STAY
