We had a great stay at the Hawthorn Inn.We came to Kansas for the nascar race. the room way very comfortable it was a little cool outside the fire place came in real handy to help take the chill out. This place was very nice looking. It like of felt like home when we first walked into our room. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom is awesome! I loved the huge soaking tub and dimming lights. It was a very relaxing weekend.

I stayed in a King Suite for three nights. This was my first visit to this property. The room was nicely maintained, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Many cable channels including HBO, SHO, and free wifi. The property is more like an apartment complex with extended stay guests. My room was a bit dark as it faced another building, and my window […] was small. I didn't spend a lot of time looking out the window at the other building, so this was not a big issue. Because of construction and the directions that I had printed out not being specific enough, I had a little trouble finding the place on my own, but after calling the hotel, they directed me right to their place and were very nice when I came in so late. We were so pleased with our stay. My husband did not have anything to do with the booking and was quick to compliment me after we arrived in our room that I had found a nice one. We are already talking about going back with our children. We really only had one criticism. The parking definitely left something to be desired. The spaces were incredibly […] small. After driving for 13 hrs, we were pleasantly surprised with the room we got. It was very clean and the bed very comfortable. We would stay there again and highly recommend it.

We were very pleasantly surprised when we stayed at the Hawthorn Suites. The rooms were very nice and the hot breakfast was as good as you can get! When we come back, we will again stay at the Hawthorn Suites!

Upon checking in we were given a room that hadn't even been cleaned yet. They gave us a different room and when we went to bed there was a huge hole in the mattress-very uncomfortable! The next morning they said they would have maintenance fix and no one ever did.

Nice big comfortable bed, but pillows were hard

Never disappointed with this hotel, we stay there every time we are in KC.

My husband and I stayed here on a short trip to KCity. Really nice, clean rooms! The bed was the most comfortable bed we've slept on!! Great Price! Great Breakfast!! Thanks!!

This was a nice facility, if your sole purpose on the road was as a traveler. The neighborhood isnt bad, by any means, however it was located in a major business district and just didnt have that "tourist" feel. If you are planning to stay here to visit and play in Kansas City, look elsewhere. You have to travel several miles to get to any kind of shopping […] on the Kansas side and over 30 minutes to the Missouri side due to the excessive road and highway work being done (not the hotel's fault, of course). The hotel seemed very well kept and was nice, however it would have been nice to have an in-room listing of area businesses and restaurants and a lack of in-room on-demand videos were a disappointment. This was an excellent find on hotels.com. Our room was great & comfortable.. bed was a lot better than the Crowne Plaza we stayed in the night prior.. I will definitely hit this place again.. the breakfast was also VERY GOOD!!! 'FITNESS ROOM' WAS a little weak, but it probably doesn't get used much..

Used to be the Holtz Ex, Suites, still a great hotel We came up from Topeka to get away for the night, something we do often. Staff at the front counter could use some classes on customer service. Breakfast was good, need to add BACON to the buffet.

I have to say that this was one of the best hotel stays that I have had. My wife and I loved everything about the stay. From the bed to the free breakfast. If we ever make it that way again, this hotel will be our hotel of choice!!

I loved this hotel! So convenient to Johnson County Community College, the highways and restaurants. It is cozy : fireplace in the lobby, hot breakfast, the large closets and the enormous bathub! It was so refreshing to drive so far and then to land at such an inviting hotel.I will definitely be staying at Hawthorne again. We had a great experience staying at the Hawthorn Suites in Overland Park. It was a very convenient location and a great price. The room was clean and the service was outstanding. Breakfast was delicious! We will definately return.

I stayed two nights in a king bed suite. The ammenities were nice (small fridge, microwave, tv, hairdryer, free wireless internet), and were all in working order. The bed was very comfortable. The room temperature was easily controlled. The bathroom was well-lighted and the large tub & shower were great. My room was very quiet. I did not utilize the […] free breakfast, but the area they used for it looked very nice. The hotel is located near multiple shopping areas and restaurants. My only complaint is that the main room was not my standard of clean. The headboard had smears on it. The lamp had food/sticky stuff on it. The chair had food stuck on it and under the cushion food/cereal. There was trash on the floor beside the chair, and cobwebs/dust bunnies around the bed and chair. After a quick wipe down with the anti-bacterial wipes...I felt somewhat better. It was a strange contrast to the bathroom that appeared immaculate. We have been staying at this property a couple of times a year for several years now. It is consistently a nice place. Rooms are clean, service is good, and my husband LOVES their breakfast.

Room was clean and comfortable. Loved the walk in closet! Very nice room for the price.

Hotel was very clean and comfortable, the coffee in the room was great! It was nice to have HD TV available and wireless internet! The breakfast buffett was the best I have ever had at a hotel! Keep up the good work!

Great hotel. Breakfast was awesome. My only issue was that I reserved a room via hotels.com and received a much smaller room than pictured. I asked the front desk and they were able to upgrade me to a suite. Make sure to ask for the larger room when making your reservation. According to the hotel people this happens on ALL .com sites.

Could not get rewards points and could not get internet access. Very dissatisfied because of the aforementioned.

We enjoyed the uniqueness of the layout of the property. It was like staying in a swiss chalet. The rooms were clean, reasonably priced and the bed was comfortable. We would stay there again.

You can't really ask for a better hotel for the price. The room was spacious and had a refrigerator and a microwave. The free breakfast was great. We will definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the suites for our one year anniversary. We went to a few art museums as well as some local restaurants, which were only 5-30 minutes away. This helped us to enjoy the trip, but at the same time reminded us to have time to relax.

This was an excellent hotel for my stay. The only downside was that a roofing crew started at 9:00 am on the building I was staying in. I thought perhaps the front desk would have known this ahead of time and given me a room in another building. I stayed to study for an exam and it was very distracting. The food was great and the staff was very pleasant. […] I would absolutely stay there again. The evening reception was outstanding. The chicken alfredo was delicious. The morning breakfast buffet was awesome. I have stayed at the Embassy Suites and Drury Inn in the same neighborhood and this hotel was cheaper and much nicer. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
