Had a good time at the Flamingo. When I arrived I needed to change my room to a king suite. I was able to do this without any additional charge. Customer service by, Brent, was exceptional. I would definetly stay here again if I am in the area.

Nice and clean. Disappointing that the pool is not heated and the heated lap pool did not allow kids. They were looking forward to swimming! But it was a convenient and nice place to stay, near Safari West and a bunch of places to eat.

Nice , very nice. Pool is gigantic. Entertainment was first class. Rooms w/ patios . outstanding . very plesed all the way around.

The Flamingo is a great property and always has been. My bone-to-pick is with Hotels.com. When we arrived to check-in I found out that my credit card had been billed twice.I expected this because I contacted your office about my AARP discount after I booked the reservation and they told me that they could cancel the first booking and that I would not […] be double-billed. The cancellation was done to get the AARP rate. Thank God the hotel staff were aware of this snafu from past reservations and were able to correct it. If I find that Hotels.com did not bill properly I will be on the phone unleashing a verbal attack for this needsless error. I hope you got it right, and do not think that I will let this go! My family and I have stayed at this hotel many times because of it's great prices and convenient location. After having our baby we found ourselves looking for a room in Santa Rosa again for a Dr.'s appt and thought we go for the obvious, always low price, Flamingo Hotel. After this last visit we will not be staying here with a baby again. We had not […] a wink of sleep because of a holiday party in the conference room across the hall and groups of people yelling and talking loud in the hall outside of our room. We called the front desk to please ask the party to tone it down a bit and they weremore than happy to do so. A 1/2 hr went by and it just got noisier and our baby was still wide awake because of the chaos. We called the front desk and asked them to move us and they were very apologetic and gave us a new room right away on the other side of the premises. We did finally get some shut eye but were awoken early (6am) by slamming doors outside of our room and kids and suitcases tromping and clunking up and down the stairs. Pretty miserable stay. I WOULD stay here again if I were a par-taker in one of their holiday conference room parties and didn't care for much sleep. Lisätietoja

My only complaint is that the bathroom vanity lighting isn't nearly adequate for a woman to put on her makeup.

The Good: Retro, yes, but not of the imitation variety. Original styles but updated decor the doesn't obscure its history. It's a "wagon wheel" or spoke shaped hotel, allowing for a more intimate parking / entry experience. Pet friendly such that there is a dog potty area under redwood trees (so somewhat shaded from the sun) with pick-up bags and a […] water dish. A vegetable garden at the rear of the hotel (dormant because it was winter). Spacious rooms without reaching for austentation (which would clash with the aspects that are less-than stellar). One wall of floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows. Drinking glasses were actually glass. The bathroom was small but in good order (but the bathroom door was very narrow; larger people may have issues with it). It had a good-size flat-screen LG TV (which we didn't turn on). A nice round table and two upholstered chairs. Good location with easy access and lots of resources all around. The Bad (not about the hotel as a whole, but our room, #336): Springy bed (woke up with a neck & head ache). The back door of our room (not the one that leads into a common hallway) wouldn't latch unless you slammed it. Lacking attention to detail: Little things, like a plastic cup outside our room, filled with cigarette butts, and the top of a champagne bottle (upper neck) in the bushes at the bottom of the stairs at the outdoor entrance (by the parking). The walls were thin (as stated earlier) and the floor moved when you walked (I felt sorry for the people below us). The Oh Well: No bath soap (had to ask for it). By accident I noticed that there was a clock radio on the floor between the bed and the dresser, not plugged in. (Hadn't the cleaning staff noticed it was missing?) Oddities like an electrical outlet in the ceiling by the windows. And the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in a motel or hotel: the mini frig was in the closet, mounted in the wall close to the floor, with the door of the frig opening such that you had to be stand Lisätietoja

The Flamingo Hotel is a spacious, pleasant hotel with a number of ammenities. Our room had 2 full size beds. If they had been queens, we wouldn't have changed anything else.

We had trouble finding our room since the entrances weren't marked and the carpet in the room was soaking wet and 90 degrees since they just cleaned the carpets. Staff was very friendly but put us in a new room that was normally for pets only. Felt like we were in a dog house.

Room was clean and spacious, except the bathroom was a bit tight. Hotel was nice, staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant/bar and pool appeared nice, however, I didnt get to experience them. Overall very satisfied with my stay and the accomodations.

I really liked the hotel. The staff was friendly and provided a nice enjoyable experience.

The decor was fun and retro style - rooms were clean and updated. It was our second stay at this hotel, and I don't check around anymore for others - Great place!

Overall I had a good experience. We planned a vacation in Wine Country and the trip to Santa Rosa to sleep was surprisingly not too bad, maybe 30minutes. The room was nice. I will say that the food in the restaurant was more average and the cost was above average. So, I would not go back to the restaurant-$20 entree. The wine we ordered also was less […] than optimal, i.e., we had some words with the server as we queried whether the wine was previously opened, and it was opened for 24hrs. The first thing you'll notice is that the hotel is in a strip mall. Not the best location but easy access to freeways and restaurants. The employees were friendly but don't go out of their way. The beds were not too comfortable and there was a strange smell....kind of like bleach or something damp. The room was clean but the bathroom was a little small. Food in the restaurant was mediocre but the restaurants in town were really great. The location was good for going to other small towns. Just average. Not horrible.

I loved this hotel. The beds were so comfortable and the hotel pool/spa was so relaxing. The hours were perfect so I could get a late swim in after my long business meeting. I enjoyed having the onsite restaurant and fun lounge with Karaoke was perfect! Highly recommend this hotel to out of town travelers.

We took a package that contained a free upgrade, breakfast and a spa pass. We did not get the upgrade although they had available rooms. When we went to the spa they did not let us in and even after callind the hotel. We did not got a cup on for breakfast apperntly and had to walk to the reseption in the middle of the meal to get it. very well located for our wedding in Calistoga ...only 20 minutes away. The hotel is clean and comfortable with nice rooms. Not really an exotic resort but certainly a convenient place to stay.

Although this is an a little on the older side, I found this hotel to be very enjoyable. There have been renovations done over the years at least to the check in area which was very posh. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were even fresh apples for the guests at check in. There were many people evjoying the pool and area which was surrounded […] by a large grassy area. We were able to enjoy a lovely casual dinner poolside. I would recommend travellers staying here to check in as early as possible in order to have this expirence. Nice rooms and very convenient for anything in the Sonoma region -- Rooms comfortable and POOL Fantastic -- Technolgy is very weak -- Internet was down with no support -- radio didn't work etc -- Gnerally a great place -- with a 50's feel.

I could of had a better deal on fair website. They advertised for cheaper ..We paid to much for Room was next to a loud door that open and closed all night long ..no cable channels hardly ..WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN !!

Good location for us, since we were visiting friends in Santa Rosa. Room smelt very funky but was otherwise fine. With children who used the pool, a rating of 4.0 is understandable. For others, a rating of 3.0 would seem to be about right.

This hotel was very cute - a retro style hotel that looks like came straight off Miami Beach in the 1950's. It was in good shape and looked like it had been recently renovated (within the past 2 years or so). We did have some issues as we booked two double beds and were first given a king - that doesn't work for me, the wife and two kids. I was so impressed with the Flamingo. Our only complaint was that - my husband has had 3 back surgeries - the bed was not the most comfortable. Time for pillow tops! But, the quality of the room, the beautiful grounds, the great pool, the excellent restaurant (we only had breakfast, but it was great) ... all made for a wonderful stay.

The only reason I stayed at this hotel was because of a wedding I attended. The place is a Mid Century land mark of sorts in the area. The architecture of the place is pleasing. The rooms were decent, but they needed nicer, more plush towels and an upgrade on the bathroom counters, and toilets, plus WIFI was NOT free and there wasn't a microwave in the room. The free continental breakfast I was offered was so unappealing, we went out and paid for breakfast. Also there was a smell of oldness in the place that didn't make me want to eat there. They did have a large pool and lap pool and a tennis court and gym. These were great amenities. Evey thing was very clean. There is also a spa on premises, but we didn't try it. Locally there were great places to eat and walk to. There didn't seem to be any other places in the are that could hold large groups, so if you are in the area with a lot of people for an event, it was decent enough. The staff were helpful. This seems an hotel only for dog owners. Don't wonder if you hear some nasty dog barking from the neighbouring room or if you see dog excrements on the sidewalk just out of your room. Don't even lose time to complain at hotel reception. We did but were threated like idiots and after three days nobody still came to clean or told pet owner how to behave. […] So if you don't travel with a dog better keep out of here. The hotel was verry old but in good shape. I had one of the newer rooms and they could have spent more money on the beds. They had a dance but it had a 10 cover, and I feel for guest it should have been free. I would hate to see what the older rooms looked liked.

The Flamingo is too expensive for what we received. All rooms were non smoking yet our people across the hall were smoking and had two dogs and a cat with them. The pipes were loud and the bathroom needed to be update(ripped shower curtain, no soap etc). There are two doors to every room which makes it very noisy. I read many of the reviews here with some confusion. When they say the spa is extra, that is true, it is a separate building. But, the beautiful pool and hot tub are accessible to all. It is a lovely oasis that you could end up spending the day there sipping a drink while people-watching. The rooms are tastefully decorated and quite large, comfortable […] beds, and fluffy towels. There is a standard coffee machine and a small refrigerator (in the closet). Outside lighting does creep into the room at night from under the door and around the drapes but not at serious levels. (I put a towel at the base of the door to block some of it.) I traveled with someone else who booked a separate room and the front-desk volunteered to rearrange the bookings to give us adjoining rooms on the ground floor to allow for a suite-type arrangement. Very nice of them. When I was preparing to leave, I discovered I had lost my cellphone...probably at the pool. To my surprise, it had been turned in to lost and found. Kudos to the clientele as well. Very very glad that I selected this hotel for my two day get-a-way. Even though I checked the reviews and ratings on the Flamingo, it was better than I expected. Sometimes you really don't have to pay a lot to get what you're looking for. I actually got more. I knew that I wasn't going to spend a lot of time in my room so I didn't want to pay a lot. […] My plan was to visit the surrounding areas like Calistogo, Healdsburg, etc. so this hotel was in a good central location. I have to say that it was tempting to veg out for hours on one of the lounge chairs, that faced the huge swimming pool, that was framed by the well manicured lawn, but I had a lot planned for my two day hiatus. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful, the bed was comfortable and the room very clean. There is a fee for an internet access and I had a few glitches each time I tried signing on, other than that, I would most definitely stay at this well maintained hotel. The Flamingo is a wonderful stay, especially in the summer time. The pool is beautiful and large, great for sole relaxation or for family fun. The design of the pool area is such that it feels incredibly secluded, even though the hotel is right off Highway-12 with easy access to travel to San Francisco or wine country. The only bad thing is that our car got hit and no-one left a note and the hotel couldn't do anything about it. Other than that, the hotel was good.. It was muggy in the rooms at night because of the hot weather. The pool was great and clean. Over all I was pretty satisfied.

But not very charmful... Staff was friendly and the room was cleam yet the charm is not quite there. It is a very large hotel starting to date a little even if it remains clean.

They have a nice pool for the kids, the spa/hot tub leaves something to be desired and the drink prices at the pool are high, but overall a nice place to spend a night or two.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had ran out of the room that we had reserved so they had upgraded us to a suite which I was really amazed consider the last hotel we stayed at. The resort was beautiful and quiet. I am definitely going to be a returning customer soon.

I stayed here while working in Santa Rosa. I guess the hotels rooms have been remodeled. I stayed in a newer one and it was very nice and comfortable. I had heard the rooms were not nice, but Im guessing I heard about the old rooms. The hallways have not been redone and have a funny old smell, but my room was nice.
