We were happy about the location. There were several good restaurants just next door, walking distance. There was a ok pool, the aircraft noise was sometimes disturbing by the pool. We were in town for the Van Cliburn piano competition and this hotel was only steps away from the Bass Hall. There were many restaurants close by, so no need for a car. The included breakfast was extensive - even made to order omelets. There is also a free happy hour every day. The work out room was the best I've seen at a hotel - plenty of room, machines […] weights and balls.Only draw backs were that the room faced a very small interior courtyard, so was quite dark. We often stay at Embassy Suites, but this stay was disappointing. The room was too small for a family of four. Housekeeping was terrible. The first day, our room didn't get cleaned until 3:00pm! Always a great place to stay (my fifth time at least). Suites are comfortable. Manager can open the starbucks canteen for you at any hour for late nite snacks or cocktails for your room. Breakfast is cooked to order. Price is a bit high, but Fort Worth is a pricey town. The hotel we stayed at was the best hotel I have been to, but the only thing that was a problem was the valet. Valet is expensive and I saw them peel out of the parking drive way with someone else's car when leaving the parking lot. That was scary because they are ruining someone's tires that way. Also, the maid service took forever to clean the rooms. […] The air circulation was also an issue in our room and we could hear everything on Saturday outside our room. Those were the only bad things about the hotel. The hotel service was awesome. The staff was friendly and the room was layout nicely. "Great hotel, but crummy parking"
It probably would have been easier to valet park if the international art show wasn't at the same time. Blocked off roads were a nightmare! the hotel staff were very kind and helpful. "Less than Acceptable"
We did not actually even stay the night. When we arrived at 8:30 p.m. after a full day we were greeted by a young lady who had little to no experience on the check in procedures or process. Check in process took over 30 minutes, while at the front desk she had a conversation with a housekeeper while trying to complete my checkin. When she confirmed […] my room, she stated that she had a smoking room available, I politely informed her that we had specifically requested a non smoking room due to to asthma. She handed me a key and stated that she would check with the MOD to see if the room was mislabled in the system. When she returned she stated that she had confirmed that the room was a non-smoking room and apologized. I proceeded to the room where we discovered that not only were we on the smoking floor but our room reaked of cigarette and cigar smoke. Back to the lobby to wait for 10 minutes to be helped, informed the front desk clerk room was indeed a smoking room. Clerk apologized and stated that she would find a new room. I proceeded to new room , opened the door to the room to find that another family was checked into the room. We returned to the front desk asked for a manager and was told no one would be available until Monday...we then left and made arrangements at another hotel. We loved our stay. My husband was crazy about the cook to order breakfast and the managers reception. He wants to use Embassy Suites as our only hotel for future travel. The pool was great. "Probably not the best value for the dollar"
We chose this hotel because of the suites, the downtown location, and the free hot breakfast--based on previous ES experiences, we knew the breakfast alone was worth a good $15 per person. Overall, things were great. A few big disappointments, though, for the dollar: The pool is MINISCULE, and my kids and I were very disappointed. It was so small that […] it could only qualify as a kiddie pool, really. And the breakfast was decent, but could be greatly improved with the addition of fresh brewed coffee! What upper-end hotel in 2013 serves Nescafe?! Even the cheap-o hwy hotels we use on road trips have brewed coffee! "Lovely Hotel with Great Staff"
Although the staff were extremely pleasant, I received an odd call at 10pm the first night of my stay asking if I had checked in and that there had been a report of an unauthorized male staying in the room. Clearly, I had checked in as I had a key to the room and booked the room for two people. It was never clear from later conversations why this took […] place.
