Hampton Inn Charleston - Historic District - Charleston

If you are to see the historical Charleston, this is your hotel. Location as well as the hotel itself is superb. Middle of the historical district, historical museum just 200 meters away... free shutle busses leave just in front of the hotel.. visitors centre 150 meters away..

Enjoyed this hotel very much compared to most we stayed at in our visit to USA. Price was a little high for us but worth it, regards from Sharon.

Parking should be included in room chg & signage showing Lobby,etc should be larger....Breakfast was delicious.

Typical Hampton. I knew what to expect and it was everything I expected. This is a Hampton, not a 5 star. The hotel is clean, well staffed, and well located. I had no problems and we were completely satisfied.

We visited Charleston with our 2 young children. The hotel was clean and the service was excellent. The location was very good, steps from the trolley service. The continental breakfast was just so-so, but as it was free we could not complain too much about that :-). We used the pool while there and it was nice. My only complaint was having to use the […] city parking structure as the hotel does not have its own parking. We did not mind paying the $14/day but would have liked to have known about it in advance. Possibly it was on the website and I may have missed it when we booked, but it came as a surprise. The hotel is located conveniently in the historic district. You can walk to most attractions and restaurants, the free trolley stops around the corner from the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was courteous and helpful. The breakfast left something to be desired, make believe scrambled eggs, but they did have hard boiled real eggs, […] but it is free and about on par with most free breakfasts we have encountered. Fantastic staff! Friendly and helpful at all times. Excellent breakfast, clean rooms! Walking distance to Charlestons attractions. Visitors center right across the street, with tour pick up stop there as well. Excellent value!

The hotel was well located in Charleston's downtown. It is within easy walking distance to popular tourism areas. The facility and building were much better than typical Hampton Inn, with a spacious, well-furnished lobby and breakfast area. Rooms were ample sized and comfortable.

Stayed here for Accepted Students Weekend at College of Charleston, and the hotel was extremely convenient to both King St. restaurants and shopping and the College of Charleston campus. The staff were all extremely friendly, polite and helpful, particularly Penelope who checked us in. Excellent service and breakfast!

A very nice, clean, convenient hotel. The room was very clean & large.. The hotel staff was very helpful in directing us to the places we wanted to visit...even giving us complimentary carriage ride tickets. Parking is not the best, but there is a ramp right behind the hotel for a daily charge. They also had a very nice complimentary breakfast in the […] lobby area. We arrived in Charleston on the train very early and very tired. The gal at the front desk found a room for us and got us in before actual check in time. They were just as gracious the day we left. Our train didn't leave until evening and they kept our bags for us and arranged for a cab to the station. The hotel is right across the street from the visitor […] center where most tours begin and right down the block from some great restaurants. The free trolly stops at the hotel allowing guests to go just about anywhere in the city. As usual the breakfasts at Hampton Inns are very good. A pleasant, convenient place to stay, but without some of the amenities that I'm accustomed to in a hotel. There is no room service at all, and as far as I can tell, no arrangements with local restaurants/fast food joints to deliver. On the other hand, the hotel has a filling buffet breakfast, if you can wait that long.

This Hampton Inn is across the street from the Charleston Museum and Children's Museum, on the north edge of the historic district (southern tip of Charleston peninsula), and just east of College of Charleston and Medical Univ. of S.C. If you don't mind walking 10 or 12 blocks, it's in easy reach of all the key nightspots in the historic district (down […] to Queen Street, beyond Market). On this trip, the location was perfect for us because we were exploring real estate options from Wentworth on south to Cannon and Lee on the north. But we will probably stay here on future trips until our move to Charleston in 2014. Price-to-value ratio makes this a great deal for this part of the peninsula. Lisätietoja

Great location - close enough to all the sightseeing but at the same time a bloc enough away to not be noisy so you can get a good nights sleep. Great little gym too and parking is easy as it's right next door.

My family has stayed in this hotel several times. It is within walking distance to the College of Charleston as well as King Street and many historic sites. The rooms are modern, well kept and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to travelers visiting the college or the town.

Wanted to stay several times, but always booked up. Perfect location, walk to everything. Rooms were clean, service friendly and free breakfast had it all! Next time will book early so I can stay there again. Close to College of Charleston where my daughter goes to school.

Hotels in and around Charleston's hotel district aren't cheap, so the rates at the Hampton Inn are exceptionally good, and it's a great location within walking distance of many attractions, restaurants and nightlife. It's also an interesting building, since it was a historic railroad warehouse.

Hard to tell it was originally a burlap factory. Rooms were airy; in excellent condition. Its right next to the visitor center and the Charleston museum. More than a few top restaurants around the corner on King Street. Walking in Charleston is easy but blocks are somewhat long. Plenty of tours available. There is a free trolley at the corner which […] takes you down to Broad street and you spend a couple days just wandering around the lovely houses in the Battery area south of Broad. Workout facilities just fine - going around town gives enough cardio. Breakfast buffet was super; lobby area well maintained as we got that wakeup coffee. Will be back again for a longer stay. Everything except matress was good. Matress made noise whenever my 2 years daughter moved when she slept.. Be a hhoners member and accumulate points

The Hampton Hotel was conveniently located in the area I wanted to be in. The service and hotel were both excellent and I will stay at this hotel again in the future.

Good location for walking everywhere; good pricing for tourist city and clean, but basic, accommodations. Breakfast and outdoor patio were above average.

Central location, but otherwise nothing special. I had a room on the ground floor looking on to a parking lot. It was about 75 degrees in the room when I got there so I requested another right away. I give the staff kudos for that. On the other hand, the TV didn't work, the duvet was lumpy and misshapen and, to top it off, the hotel screwed up daylight […] savings. I asked for a call at 5am. Close to all sights. Clean, comfortable and quiet hotel. Wonderful variety and delicious breakfast offered, too. The staff were polite, helpful and friendly.

Every employee at this hotel was friendly and helpful. rooms were clean and service was quick. will definitely return to this hotel on our next visit. Keep up the good work. Every employee should be commended for their excellent and friendly service.

The hotel was very nice and clean. It is across the street from the visitor's center where you can catch tours so the location is great. Can walk to a lot of the sites in Charleston. The breakfast was very nice - good combination of foods.

The staff at this hotel is the very reason why I usually opt for Hamton Inns whenever I travel! Wonderful service and super friendly employees. It was a little bit of a walk to some of the main attractions, but a very easy walk and close to lots of shopping and history! Would definitely stay here again.
