La Quinta Inn Monterey - Monterey

I forgot to bring my makeup remover with me. Fortunately the hotel provided the makeup remover wipe. It saved me a lot of trouble. Otherwise I would have to go to the supermarket and buy it. This is the 1st time I ever stayed in the hotel that provide such ammenity to guests. I was very pleased.

This hotel is clean, seemed to be safe, and was convient to drive to tourist destinations. I stayed there because I attended at 2 day class in the same area. It worked out to be perfect as it was close enough to be able to walk to my class and very easy to hop on the highway to see close by tourist attractions. No frills, though, at this hotel. It does […] not have a gym or pool. It does have complimentary breakfast which you make yourself. It was crowded when I was there as there were a lot of families and a couple groups of teenagers from school groups. That many people trying to make their breakfast at the same time was tricky but not bad. I would recommend this hotel for families or business travelers. Lisätietoja

The hotel staff was very friendly when we arrived and the hotel was clean. The breakfast area was nice. Getting around the hotel was a little confusing as there were no stairs directly from the lobby to the rooms. Biggest negative is the distance from the main part of Monterey, although it wasn't too long of a drive (maybe 10 minutes) and cheaper then […] staying closer. Spacious room. Full self serve breakfast, plenty of choices to choose. Very comfortable, Very close to the wharf and Cannery Row!!! Would stay here again!

Not very scenic but very convenient to getting around .Everything was very clean and well kept. Updated in style. overall very good for the price.

We were very pleased with La Quinta. The beds sleep very comfortable. The morning breakfast was awesome. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. I would return definately.

Hotel served its purpose for one night. Continental breakfast was delicious!!

Overall our stay was good. It was far enough from all the attractions to avoid lots of traffic. Our room was spacious and the beds are very comfortable. This is the perfect location, and a very good hotel. We had places to eat and the Dennis the Menace park nearby. Sometimes the hotel you stay at can ruin your trip. But this hotel gets a thumbs up!

I took my family to Monterey for Father's Day weekend. The hotel was a little away from the center of activity, but still only 10 minutes away from Cannery Row. It was quiet and clean, and the rooms were spacious. Even though the hotel was full, there was plenty of hot water for the shower. The breakfast was decent - waffles, eggs, sausages, muffins, […] toast, cereals, yoghurt, orange and apple juice... Cons: The walls are pretty thin. This is a very cozy hotel with a short drive distance to both Carmel and Monterrey...As long you you have a car a car this is an excellent hotel with a good breakfast!

My husband and I stayed here for one night prior to the Big Sur Marathon and found it to be totally fine for our purposes that night, which included a clean, comfortable bed and a refrigerator in the room. The flourescent lighting throughout the room & bathroom was a bit harsh, but the fixtures and countertop had been updated nicely so it didn't feel […] like a completely cheapy-cheap hotel. At check-in we were told that they were going to put out some basic breakfast items early for the people who were leaving at 4:30am for the shuttle bus to the race, which was a really nice thing to do. I didn't notice whether there was anything of significance out that morning but did grab a piece of fruit as I dashed out the door. It's not a place I'd consider staying if I were on vacation in the Monterey area because it requires driving anyplace you'd actually want to visit and is right next to the highway, but it worked out great as a place to crash for a night. At the time we arrived the hotel, there was some doubt about our reservation. They strongly believed it was done with another company and that we should pay for something that have been paid in anticipation.

Check-in was fine. Asked about places to eat and drug stores because I needed cough medicine. Information given was great. It kinda went down hill from there. When I got off of the elevator on my floor, there was a horrible stench in the general area. I later realized it was coming from a garbage can that was right by the elevator. The smell in the […] room was not that great either, so I ended up buying a scented candle. The room: The ceiling light over the area where the two chairs were, I guess a reading area, did not work. There was a huge gap under the door that let light into the room. When I left the room, I discovered that all of the rooms were like that. There is a piece of rubber under it, but I had to put something in front of the door to keep most of the light out. The bathroom: went in to check it out and was blown away. There were two big holes in the shower curtain!! I called the front desk, and the staff person said he would try to find another one. He did and came and replaced it. The toilet was too far away from the toilet paper roll. I almost had to stand up to reach it. I ended up taking it off and putting the roll on top of the toilet tank. There was also an area below the sink that hadn't been covered and it showed old, rusty nail heads. Check-out: went to check out about 11 a.m. and THERE WAS NO ONE AT THE FRONT DESK!! I asked the cleaning staff, who was cleaning up from breakfast, and they stated the staff person was in the bathroom. When she came out of the bathroom, which was in the lobby, she looked as if she had been changing her clothes because she had other clothes in her hand. This was an older hotel. It was clean, but a bit noisy. Not a bad hotel; however, a little overpriced.

2nd time we stayed here (2007). Both experiences were outstanding. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly, helpful and responsive. I had a problem with the TV which they quickly corrected. Wonderful location to easily get around the entire area. Hotel was noisy at times. After a particular noisy incident late at night, our phone rang four times for no good reason. No one that we knew was advised of exactly which hotel we were staying at in the Monterey area. Room was clean enough. Bathroom door would not stay open unless propped with something. Overall ok and clean. Ice bucket had not been […] cleaned or emptied from night previously. Ice was close. The hotel was quite comfortable, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was run of the mill. I was disappointed that there was no swimming pool. I assumed that because other LaQuinta sites I had been in had a pool that this one would also. Next time I will pay closer attention.
