Excellent for the price it was. Nice, clean neighborhood of Ann Arbor near the North Campus of UofM. Buy the room for double beds because the price is about the same but more roomy. That is what I did - alone. Free room phone calls around all the USA ! I liked the simple breakfast too - it was all fresh and ok tasting even if it came out of bags...Danishes were great ( I do not usually even eat pastry). The only negative I found was that the walls are not the thickest! Ask to live in the 3rd floor and in the court yard (front side). While in town try Red Hawk's fajita salad, and Olga's Kitchen! ( I used to live here for school in the 90's and they have been around since!)

This room was small but comfy. The bed was very confortable. There was a coffee maker, refridgerator a desk and comfortable chair. The shower was hot. The TV was the only aggrivation. A little older & rougher than I thought it would be. The bathroom was tiny. Overall the hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. Out of the way, quiet & relaxing.

"Okay but not fanstastic"
The hotel staff was friendly. We were placed on the 3rd floor and the room was clean and the beds comfy for hotel beds but it was EXTREMELY hot in the room, it was February and we had the AC on and set to 66 and we were still hot. The hotel was very clean but there was puke in the pool area. When told it was cleaned up right away but it had been there […] a while and that makes it a turn off. The room was a little on the small side but very clean with a nice comfortable bed. Staff was friendly & helpful. We were glad to have a mini fridge in the room and enjoyed using the pool as well.

Room clean. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful upon check-in. Room clean, bed comfortable. As others have mentioned, having the bathroom sink in the room rather than in the bathroom is a bit odd, but it isn't a deal breaker. I would stay here again because it had all I needed...clean room, comfy bed, chair and desk, free wi-fi.

The hotel staff was so nice and helpful. The breakfast was much more than I had expected. I especially liked the walnuts and raisins on my oatmeal. The staff was extremely helpful, and accomidating. My daughter and I flew in from CA on the red eye, and they allowed us to get into our room at 8:00AM! We were in AnnArbor during U Mich football game..I was worried about noise...but room was good...no noise outside. I didn't especially care for the sink outside the room, but got used to it. Pool and hot tub were nice, clean. Breakfast good...I would definitely stay at another Fairfield Inn
We are repeat visitors to the Fairfield, and we appreciate the comfort, convenience and good value of this hotel.

"Clean, easy to reach hotel in Ann Arbor"
For the hotel rate, I would stay here again. It was easy to get to, across the street from Briarwood Mall, down the street from University of Michigan, close to Mr. Stadium laundromat, Self Storage, and Firestone, because my car needed repairs. Plus it had good air conditioning!!!

Everything about our stay was very nice. Becky at the front desk was very helpful and pleasant.Although the breakfast wasn't excellent for a free breakfast it was fine. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom met our expectations.

We stayed at the Fairfield in Ann Arbor while our daughter attended orientation at the University of Michigan. The guy at the front desk was awesome.

No Ac in Lobby, ac unit extrmely noisy got only 2 hours sleep, a peice of metal by the door going into bathroom- evertyime we walked into the bathroom we stepped on it- it sounded like something broke made a very loud niose/sound. room id too small

It's a very convenient area, right off I-94 and a straight shot to campus on State Street (try to avoid evening rush hour out of town, though). Very nice. Pool was clean as was hot tub. The folks at the desk were great with information, directions and dining recommendations. Staff was very friendly. Location was within easy driving distance to the University. Would like to have been within walking distance but nothing seems to be that close.

Nothing awful about this hotel but definitely VERY expensive for the size and quality that you're getting. Tiny room and bathroom for the price and the room's right by the stairs, which made it noisy. Average breakfast and maintenance.

I found this an excellent bargain. Nice, comfortable room, right off the Interstate, good continental breakfast, and a pool - not a bad deal for the money.
"Fine place to stay"
The hotel really IS hard to find, even w/ GPS. I went to the Marriott first, as the Fairfield is hidden behind it and around the corner (and the Marriott doesn't have a sign outfront). Hotel shows its age inside and could use a more modern make-over, but otherwise it was safe, clean, comfortable, and the staff was very frieldly. I would recommend.

We found the room to be stuffy and had difficulty sleeping the first night. We opened the door much of the second day and let air circulate, slept better the second night. We normally sleep with an open window.
