For the $ i paid for 1 night, it was horrible. They sent notice they had to shut the air off, no towels in room, no coffee cups.

The hotel rooms need to be renovated. The lobby and pool area is nice but the rooms are less than sufficient for the price. There is not even an overhead light or lamp in the room with significant light. There were at least a lot of tv channels...they actually had Starz.

The hotel staff was very friendly, and the overall appearance when you walk in is fantastic. The location is fantastic and other than the fact that we had to pay to use our own pool because of an event going on it wasn't that bad. When we first got there we got there little bit early and was hoping to get a room,checking wasn't until 4 o'clock pm, Coming from LA I thought that was rather late to get a check in time , so We waited and waited until i noticed that people were getting their rooms before we did , It wasn't until about 3 hours when the desk hand finally gave us a double, […] he did end up taking our resort fees off, about $75 hardly worth it, The room was fairly small for a double but pretty clean, I was quite displeased that of the 4 days I was there I never got a hot shower, the water just stayed warm. Also, if you don't roll up with a sweet ride, the valet will be parking your car about 4 blocks away, so add 20 -30 minutes anytime you want your car. Overall, for the money I spent on the place I'll try somewhere else like the Beachcomber or the SLS, or the Delano before I return to the Shelbourne Lisätietoja

The female front desk "manager" gave me an already occupied room. Needless to say the people in there were not impressed and rightfully freaked out. She then gave me another room that wasn't made up, swearing it was. The guys working the desk finally sorted it out, THEY should be managers, not the dimwit that was there. You get what you pay for. Not […] great, but cheap. You cannot beat the location, its A1. The valet guys are fantastic. The rooms are dated and need to be freshened up, and the slamming of doors is heard throughout the place. We give it 0 stars. We travel a lot both in US and abroad. The only positive was Rafael the concierge. Other than that, horrible. We were told at check-in that it had been purchased by Wyndham and would be remodeled again in the near future. Wyndham should shut it down today and level the place. The entire hotel seems to be in a bad, malcontented holding […] pattern and the guests suffer as a result. Broken beds and furniture mismatched and taken straight from the 1980s. Rooms were filthy and looked like they had been furnished with whatever fell off the truck. Not safe. Our door looked like it had been kicked in. Parts of the vent were falling from the ceiling. I decided to head to the pool one day and was challenged at the entry by a "security guard" only to find out that the pool is rented out to some external "beach party" (maybe to locals?) and half the pool deck and area is rented out to this external group. Really insulting--especially when one is paying a daily resort fee for towels (really?), internet access (you're kidding??) The "fee" is also for a continental breakfast that the front desk told us ran to 11 a.m. to find once we arrived at 10:30 one morning that it actually ends at 10. (Or did it?) The place is poorly managed, needs to be overhauled completely and Wyndham needs to know that they have A LOT to overcome. Beware the resort fees if you book this hotel! They will charge additional fees that are not listed clearly! There is some fine print AFTER you book. I sent clients here telling them all was prepaid except mini-bar, etc., and they were forced to pay these fees without warning on checkin. This might have been the worst bathroom I've ever had in a room. Could not get a normal shower, as is oscillated between scalding hot and freezing cold. the night table drawer was broken, one of the over head light bulbs was out and the bed was cracked in the middle which was braced. Hotel is in the middle of renovation. The renovated rooms are very well done. Rooms on the east side have balconies overlooking the beach. My room was very nice but the bathroom, while nice, needed renovation. Swimming pool is large and pool area is very nice with plenty of areas for sunbathing. Good: Pool area, beach access, location --- all fantastic. Bad: Rooms were not clean, terribly outdated, and in some cases falling apart with bad beds, and furniture and rusting fixtures. If you're going to stay here you must pay the extra $ to get a room upgrade otherwise it's not worth the price.

The furniture in the room was old, and all scratched. the walls in the entrance to the room, and the bathroom were in such shape that the plaster was fooling off. It should be rated as a 2 star.

It seems they put all of their money into the public spaces of the hotel. The lobby, bars, and pool are nice; modern, clean, bright. Our room was a huge let down. Clean enough, I guess. Front desk staff was great. My white bedspread had a big urine stain on it and the light switch in the closet had been removed so the light stayed on until the bulb was turned off by the engineer. The pool bar staff never smile. Great location. I almost forgot to mention the amazing concierge and bell staff. Great atmosphere.

The Shelboune is great for the location. Additionally, the hotel's amenities are nice. The pool and jacuzzi are clean, the lobby is modern and clean. My boyfriend and I stayed during the new years eve holiday for 3 nights. Our first room was not renovated. Before checking into the room, many of the staff said it was their nicer (non-renovated) rooms. […] All the pictures on their site are renovated rooms. When we walked into our room it was terrible. It resembled a hostel. Old furniture beat-up door frames. We noticed the bed was a single (they said it was a queen--no way, but we paid for a king/queen) floors were old. I got in the shower and the tub would not drain. We went downstairs and asked for another room. In our second room, the furniture was more updated. Still not overly pleasing but it was basic and more acceptable than first room. On our last night I woke up to a running water noise. I go into the bathroom the floor above us was leaking buckets of water into our bathroom. Overall, the shelbourne is a nice place if you hae a renovated room. It was New Years Eve and they were NOT prepared for the amount of people. No ice, no glasses, and bad service. The bellmen were the nicest and most accommodating but the front desk people needed some patience and help. I would not stay there again at a major holiday and pay so much! The walls are paper thin. Just like you will listen to everything, everything you say will be heard outside your room. It was a very much needed relaxing weekend! The room was beautiful and the beds were extremely comfortable! The only thing the room lacked was a spacious bathroom, but aside from that everything else was great and beautifully renovated!

Rooms could be a little nicer. Lots of construction. Looked at three different rooms and must say some rooms are better then others. Should not require guest to pay for daily drinks between 4-6pm. It should be optional; I don't drink! Overall not a bad hotel, would stay again for the price.

We payed a mandatory $25 per person for breakfast and we were never told about it until 4 days later. The service is great, very sweet . The place is dirty and needs to b rehabd . They pumped all the money in the entrance, curb appeal , lobby , pool and landscaping . The rooms are substandard.
