Our hotel reservations were not sent to the hotel until the next morning, I had to wait a very long time for the hotel to try and call you then Expedia for my already paid reservation. I'd reserved no smoking room. The other room was fine but this particular one smelled of smoke. I went to the desk and was quickly moved to another room with the staff's apologies. So, this was a non-problem. The rooms are comfortable...not lavish but clean and the plumbing works great...plenty of hot water! We swapped one night of the other room to […] a Deluxe King and were impressed with the room size and amenities. The double was fine for what we needed but the King with fridge, microwave, computer work station, etc. was very nice and was not very much more. "I stayed twice in two weeks"
I stayed at this Inn twice in two weeks and the second time was with the wife and family. Staff were great. We had to change one of two rooms due to the smell of cigarette smoke - but staff immediately took care of our request. Plenty of hot water and the rooms were comfortable with the cold and rainy weather.

"One night stay"
I reserved the room online because I was driving from Michigan to Flordia. I checked in late at night and they had my key ready for me with no wait. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. "More than adequate"
For a good sleep in a quiet hotel with free wi-fi, this hotel fills the bill. Nothing fancy, not five star, but very good value for the money.

Room was comfortable, but the heater would not turn off due to broken thermostat, and there was a distinct wet dog smell.

I only had one issue, the non-smoking room was clean, but as soon as you stepped into the room the cigarette smell hits you in the face.

I enjoyed my stay. The sleep was very refreshing. It was quiet and clean. I picked thus hotel because of the convenience of being right at I-20. I would definitely stay again.
This place is a dumb... the police were called several times during the night for fights outside my door..

Hotel was close to Fort Jackson and we were really pleased with the Lizzard's Thicket Restaurant being next door. It was important to us to bring our little dog. There was a dog walk available. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Normally, I am the type of person that will stay at the Holiday in VS a Red Roof Inn. My son was graduating from basic and spent so much money on the way there and back, I needed something a little cheaper. I would recomend this hotel to anyone!!! I wouldnt say its at the best part of town but while I was there for 3 days nothing bad happened and I […] felt safe. I would stay there again. "AC problems"
Upon check in the AC in the room did not seem to be cooling. Left for a few hours but upon returning found the room still very stuffy and the AC not cooling. The response from the front desk was simply "We're sorry but we're full". No offer of any type of refund, etc.
"Service"
The service wasn't so great. We had 4 people staying in the room but only 3 bath towels. We asked for more and were told we could come get them. Went to the front desk and was told someone would bring them to our room before she left and then she never showed up. Went back to the front desk and was told they were all out of towels.

I stayed at Red Roof Inn 2 nights for my son's basic training graduation. I have to say for the low price, it was a very decent place to stay. Not far from the base, which was a fairly easy and short drive from the hotel. Only complaint I have is there is no ironing board in the room. I would have called for one but I made a call already for something […] else and never got that, so I assumed I wouldn't get the board either. This booking was a last minute change for my trip to South Carolina. I spent no time completing any research other then the distance to my destination from the motel. The motel staff was very pleasant. My room was clean, fairly quite and comfortable. There was no coffee maker or refrigerator (I'm not sure if there was supposed to be, but I am use to […] having these) in my room. I wasn't comfortable in the area the motel was located in, but I can not blame the facility or the staff for this. I had been in the area 5 years ago and today it shows the effects of the current economic conditions. The only reason I would not recommend this is the location. While I wasn't attacked, or had my car broken into, I simply did not like the area. I would admit that most people probably would be fine staying there (I was there 2 nights) without worry. Not bad for the price. It was clean and seemed to be safe though in a somewhat aged commercial area. The front office staff member was courteous & worked to get me in to a room early. Many restaurants nearby.

We had a short stay since my son was having surgery the next day at Palmetto Richland. We had to be there by 5:30am so the very short drive the next exit up made for a very easy commute. The hotel was quiet and clean. Would stay again.

The hotel is not to bad for the price, but the beds suck. The whole purpose of a hotel is to sleep and one that cannot provide a bed that is less than 15 years old is a joke. The only nice part about this hotel is that it has a larger shower and a friendly staff.

It was not a bad hotel in that the service was good, front desk lady that checked us in was very helpful about Ft Jackson and surrounding area and very accomodating in our needs. A very commendable employee! It is just a lower grade hotel than I am use to. No pool. outdoor access lobby, very small bathroom, no continental breakfast and no room service. This was our first trip to Columbia. The access to the interstate was ideal and there were quite a few good restaurants in the area. We were slightly disappointed that the free wi-fi only worked 1 of the 2 nights were were staying here, so be warned. We booked a non-smoking room. The first room we were given stunk like smoke, but upon returning to […] the desk and requesting a different unit. We were then given one key each for two different rooms, and allowed to look/smell both and choose our preference. "Comfortable bed"
For price the room was adequate. (Sister in law booked better room for less directly that night.) The sink stopper was broken and sink did not drain. My husband was able to fix it, but average person would not have been able to. Late check-in, so didn't call desk about it. Noisy A/C. Garbage bag on curb at parking space where housekeeping did not dispose […] of that day. The hotel was conveniently located. The person at the desk was very helpful in helping us find a movie theater in the area. She also changed our rooms when there was a problem with the smoke detector. Had a little trouble with regulating the temperature in the rooms. Good room for the rate.

Close to where we were going, restaurants galore, easy access to I-20 and I-95.

The room we stayed in was recently re-modeled, everything was new. Very convenient to several restaurants that were even within walking distance. Great room for the price.

About half the staff was friendly and helpful. The other half were less than professional, and even rude at times. The bed was comfortable, the desk was great, as was the internet service, the room was fairly clean but the maid service wasn't great.
