Carlton Inn Kirkland/Seattle - Kirkland

I selected this hotel due to it's location to Evergreen Hospital. Definitely a mistake. First, the hotel is difficult to find. It's on a dead-end road leading to an isolated area behind Totem Lake mall. The small parking lot was empty and dark. Not giving any sense of security. The room was dirty and clearly the sheets had not been changed since the last guest. Do yourself a favor and spend a few more dollars and find one of the many other fine hotels in the area. THe signs to get to this motel was so small and we kept driving around in circles to find it. We had two of us but only 1 coffee cup and the coffee maker had an old coffee pad in it. I recently went there for a little vacation. I read the previous views and was a little worried but I loved this place. The staff was really friendly and always very nice. I am glad I listened to someone I know personally and stayed there. My room was really nice and it was cleaned up everyday while I was out. Old Hotel ~ Friendly front desk staff ~ The room lacked inventory for 2 people. 1 washcloth, 1 coffee cup, 1 serving of coffee. Sheets were worn and wrinkled, bedspread piled. No extra blankets and/or pillows. Heater LOUD. Great Price of room but the old adage of: "you get what you pay for" certainly applys to this hotel

Hotel very close to many Seattle area attractions and the price was good. We attended a concert at Chateau St. Michelle and it was very close to that. Some things to work on: even though it was paid in full by credit card, they insisted on charging our card $50 and then the next morning put a $50 credit on it. This hotel exudes "don't stay here" all over it. After booking online and then coming up on the hotel made think seriously about canceling. Because of my exhaustion I decided to tough it out and that was a mistake! First I encountered a less than enthusiastic front desk clerk, who required my credit card again and charged a deposit fee after i had already […] paid online. He said it was a requirement?? Where is that stated? Then, there was NO hot water, called front desk and they said there was a little switch you had to play with, end result, NO hot water. The next day in my eagerness to leave this situation I forgot my electric razor plugged in the bathroom outlet. I called the front desk and they said they had it and would hold it for me. When I was able to return, they said they have the razor but don't have the cord. I td the It should be with the razor since I remembered it was plugged in. They said they will try to find it. Needless to say, I have my razor now but NO plug to recharge it! I will not stay here again nor would I recommend this chain again!!! Lousy hotel! Lisätietoja

The lobby and inside the hotel - not the rooms - seemed a little stark, plain, quite - maybe some new paint. The only real complaint I have is the sheets are old. Get some new sheets with a crisp finish!

Overall first impression when you walk through the door is a dim musty smelling aged hotel that I can't imagine will be in business much longer. I wouldn’t even call the staff 2nd or 3rd class as their all in the wrong line of work and Person "A" is absolutely not a people person. I was placed in room 204 and when I first walked in the door the carpets […] were stained, nasty and you could tell why they were using a glade air freshener (to hide the smell). I walked into the bathroom and found blood on one of the wash cloths and a large amount of hair on one of the bath towels which I brought to Person "A" at the front desk. Because the room was extremely hot I tried to turn down the AC unit but it was broke and I had to go see Person "A" again at the front desk to have it fixed. I then tried to close the curtains and the right side was broken as the rod was bent and was missing pieces to glide along the rod. Person "A" acted like I was bothering him when I requested these items fixed before I returned from my sons baseball game as the only reason I stayed there was because he was in a 14u Pony All-Star tournament. Upon my return the AC unit was working and “LOUD” but the curtain wasn’t fixed so I had to Jerry rig it so light wasn’t coming into my room while I was trying to sleep. As an FYI your right next door to the Yuppie Tavern which was playing loud music until the wee hours of the night and the music was battling the loud AC unit which in turn led to a miserable night of sleep on a not so comfortable bed in a dirty room with non-people persons running the place. I would recommend only after cautioning to not plan on getting any more than coffee and dry muffins for breakfast. The maid forgot to replace towels and did not secure our door after leaving the room. Not pleased to find the room unsecured when returning after being gone all day! Had the feel of 'maybe this is their last day'. Didn't see or hear another guest. Sheets didn't completely cover the mattress, donuts they set out had bites taken out of several,. just a very uncomfortable place to stay.

I was very satisfied with the stay we had at the Carlton Inn. We made last minute reservations online and got to the hotel late. The night desk person was very helpful and explained things very well. The lounge was closed on Saturday night so I was somewhat disappointed with that but it was probably best. The hotel had a slight smell to it, not bad […] but kinda musty. We got an excellent rate online and I would definitely stay there again. It is a little bit of a commute to Seattle, but no worse than I've driven before. The day desk lady was also very helpful. We found the curtain rod was cracked a little bit preventing it from closing all the way, told her about it and it was well documented. This was a very nice hotel for the low price we paid. The hotel was not full and it was very quiet. There is a very good italian restaurant within walking distance and a lot of fast food places within a short drive.

For starters we choose this hotel for the closeness to the concert event that we were attending and that it received 3 stars. However, when we saw 3 cars in the parking lot, that should have been a BIG clue. The hotel in run down and in need of serious renovations.
