Hotels.comin asiakkaan arvostelu helmi 26, 2013Erinomainen sijainti liikkua junalla ja metrolla. Helppo ja halpa matka hotellin ja JFK:n välillä (n.45 min, 7,5 USD). Manhattanille n. 10-15 min metromatka. Hotelli siisti, huoneet tilavat ja hyvin toimiva siivous. Aamiainen perusamerikkalainen eli kaikenlaista pullaa löytyy. Bonuksena aamiaishuoneen kuumahuoma-automaatti, joka on käytössä pitkin päivää. Ruuhka-aikoina liikeenteen melua. Viereissä Mobil-huoltamo, jossa pieni sekatavaramarket. Seuraavassa korttelissa viinakauppa, pesula ja Deli. Lähin metroasema Queensboro Plaza (200m).

Hyvä hinta- laatu suhde. sijainti oli aivan loistava ja mikä itselle tärkeintä huone siisti eikä torakoita tai muita vierailijoita ilmaantunut. Toki huone oli erittäin pieni ja remontti vähän sinne päin tehty, mutta oikein siisti ja tyylikäs. Remontti oli vielä kesken, mutta huoneeseemme 20. kerrokseen siitä ei ainakaan häiriötä aiheutunut. Ystävällinen henkilö kunta.

Hotels.comin asiakkaan arvostelu helmi 25, 2013We enjoyed our visit in New York and stay in this hotel. Everything worked well, the staff was very friendly. We had 2 queen size bed and the room for four was big enough to overnight, but if you are going to spend more time in hotel room, four might be too many. This hotel is perfectly located when visiting MSG. We also walked to Empire State building and to Rockefeller center, but some could find this walking distance too long. There is a very delicious breakfast available next to lobby at $18, which we enjoyed both mornings. The hotel price was reasonable.

Hyvä sijainti keskustassa. Palvelu ja siisteys hyvällä tasolla. Mielestäni oikein tyylikäs aulabaari ja mukava lounge mutta ei varsinaista ravintolaa, vaan onhan niitä kulmilla. Excellent location. The hotel is surrounded by shopping and breakfast/dining options and all major sites are within a walking distance (at least for me). The location off Times Square is good, because it is more peaceful and there is space to move around w/o crowds. The Central Park is just 0.8mi away for those who enjoy running. Typical W Hotel Experience - overpriced and modern with little "extras". Truthfully, I wouldn't stay there again if going to NYC. "Old and poorly maintained."
Check-in took 30 minutes (this is after I got to the desk, not waiting in line) and they tried to downgrade me which I had to fight through to get what I paid for. Room was tiny and the sheets and towels smelled of mildew throughout the entire 10 day duration of stay. Looks like the building can't dry their linens properly. Also the elevator key card […] systems didn't read the cards properly, resulting in a comical card swiping madness among guests trying to get up to their rooms. Felt and smelled like a cheap motel. "Terrible value in NYC."
Even with a hotels.com discount, the average cost per night for the size of the Mega Room anywhere else in the world was exorbitant - but I overlooked this initially because hey - the W Hotel chain is supposed to be a four-star hotel with the appropriate service, right? Nah. The service standard set from the very beginning of my stay as I entered to […] my checkout was awful. From wasting a day with hotel staff searching for my tuxedo that was LOST (staff did not have it in the system at all when it was required, even when I had paid for express option), to overhearing staff gossiping in the elevator about other staff, to having my invoice on checkout day just left on the floor in front of my room (not even in an ENVELOPE) - make no mistake. If staying here, you will be spending money solely based on location - and for the price I paid for the W Hotel room, next time I'm in NYC I'll stay at the Waldorf Astoria across the street instead. "Great location and great staff"
I work for a competing hotel company but the discount rate was not available so I looked to hotel.com and hotels located on the NY East Side. The W had the best rate, great location and great rating. I had past by the hotel when I stayed in NY in the past and it looked nice. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. But I have to say it was the staff […] that one me over. Kudos the concierge staff -- they were FIRST RATE! The entire staff at the hotel were polite and willing to help at every turn - and that means a lot to me. And the rooms were very nice -- they were a bit small but well designed and clean and fine if your plan is to spend time out on the town and just need a place to lay your head at the end of the day. There were some issues with elevator when we were there but not a major issue. I would definitly recommend this hotel to friends. I would stay there again in the future. Hotel was in a good location and service was great but the rooms are tiny (expected more from a W) and my NYC view was of a small alley which apparently the hotel maintenance people used to dump all of their supplies. "Great location & Bliss spa"
I really liked the W hotel in terms of location, cleanliness and room comfort. Previously I have stayed at the Plaza, 50 Thomson and Renaissance on 57th and this compared well for the price. The staff were at times a little too "cool" choosing to carry on conversations amongst themselves whilst you were waiting to ask something and both I and a woman […] checking out at the same time were charged for small extras we didn't actually have, but overall the service was good. The Bliss spa was lovely and a real treat to have in the hotel. My only (small) gripes were the bath wasn't big enough to lay in which would have been nice after a hard day's shopping! Also the $17 a day wi-fi charge was annoying (although there was one free hour per day in the lobby) and I would have rather my room cost £10 more a night with free wi-fi included. "KW in NYC"
Caveat everything I say with the fact that this is a high end hotel price wise so it should be good. i had a mega room and the room size was excellent as was the flat screen TV. What I do object to is the price of the movies $20.00 including tax, so I did not use and the price of the internet, again nearly $20.00. These are frankly ridiculous prices […] and does leave a bad taste in your mouth. As I was over for work only used the room and bar and the 'Bliss' store is next door which is a plus. "Nice hotel but the cozy rms are very small."
The location is great. The room itself is clean but the carpet could use a good shampoo. Would have like to have some extra drawers instead of all the snacks being displayed. Do not book a cozy room if you are claustrophobic. There was a promotion for free Accura rides when we stayed. Sounds good in concept but we couldn't get a single ride in over […] 4 days. "I was expecting more for the price."
First I'll start by saying the staff was polite and the room was spotless. That being said, the room was very small, and the shower stall doesn't have a door (seriously guys?). I tried calling the front desk for something, but the phone in the room didn't work. So I called on my cell phone, and they transferred me to a manager... who didn't answer. […] So I tried again, and they transferred me to a different manager... who also didn't answer. Also, they have a little stash of massively overpriced snacks and wine in the room. There's no sign that says so, but apparently they're on sensors, so if you even pick up something to look at it (like I did), it automatically charges you. So I had to deal with $15 in charges (for 2 candy bars) for stuff I never ate. The bed was rock hard and not really comfortable at all. I woke up with a neck ache, feeling like I hadn't slept at all. Not a bad hotel, but there's others in the same general area for the same price (or less) that are better. I won't be staying here again, nor will I be recommending this place to anyone. "Trendy hotel in a nice location"
Decent NYC hotel. The lobby was adorned with very trendy decors. The room was unremarkable. Considering it is NYC, the room size was, of course, small. It consisted of a bed, a desk and a night stand. Bath room was ok, bigger than most NYC hotels I've stayed at. Excellent hotel. Very conveniently located. The rooms were fantastic in terms of comfort and cleanliness. The staff/service was professional and very friendly at the same time. I'm a big fan of rooms that are both stylish and functional, that's why the W on Lexington totally fit the bill for this trip. Right in the heart of Midtown, you're in walking distance to Broadway shows, 5th Avenue and the like, plus if you want to venture out to Greenwich Village, Chelsea, Soho, etc., the cab fare isn't too crazy either. "close to nice restaurants"
I really enjoyed the W, however the room was very small which was okay for only staying two nights. I did requst some items be brought up to my room which I had to call twice and they still did not arrive. Then after my room was cleaned I received the items that is my only complaint. "W-Hotel is not what it use to be"
We have been going to this Hotel for over 7 years and this is the first time that we said we would not be going back. They put us in a room that had a walk way to the bed that was around 2 ft wide It was the cozy room but it felt like the closet we exchanged room and it was much nicer. "W = Wonderful"
I am a W fan, so I always hold them to a very high standard. This is my third stay at this W and it was better every time. The staff is pleasant, welcoming and efficient.
