"Room location/staff a disappointment"
Our room was right inside an outside entrance on the first floor. People came in and out at a steady pace, and the door banged as it closed. Headlights from busy Richmond Road shone into the room. It was located next to the maintenance rooms (and should have been another one). At 4:00 in the afternoon, a line of supply carts took up most of our hallway. […] I took a photo. Also, I asked the two women at the desk for directions to the Williamsburg Inn. They had never heard of it.As it turned out, it was only 10-15 minutes away from the hotel. "Hampton Inn Richmond Rd.-Spring break...great stay"
Stayed here for 4 nights with my wife and kids for Easter break. Hotel is well kept and in the middle of everything. Busch Gardens and all attractions no more than 10 minutes away. Pool a little small, but fit the bill...can get pretty crowded and chaotic at times. Free breakfast a big plus- can even get it to go! Would definitely stay here again!
"Decent but not great........"
I guess at the end of the day, the accomodations at this Hamton were about what one could expect. Nothing majorly wrong with the place but everything seemed a bit dated and worn out. For the price, I would rate this property as "okay". Nothing to get exceited about.

Excellent staff. Clean facility and very warming. Rooms were spacious and had great amenities. Linens on the bed were awesome. Pool was nice,a little chilly but it was the first week in April. Wish it had a hot tub though!

The hotel was clean and check in was quick and easy. The staff seemed friendly. The breakfast buffet was good but there were a lot of guests and the breakfast area was small. The pool was nice. The room was small but sufficient for our family of 4. Our only complaint was that the room card keys usually took 4-5 tries before they worked and they never […] worked in the back door to the hotel so my husband would have to run around and come in the front door and let us in. The hotel is under renovation, which effects the entry and dining appearance. I did not feel comfortable at breakfast with all the renovation. However, the staff, room and location for accessibility to everything was a "5".
"Very nice place to stay"
We stayed here for two nights on a recent trip to Williamsburg. It is about 2 miles from the Colonial village. There is a Hampton Inn and Suites that is closer to the village. I didn't know that at the time I made the reservation. This hotel has recently been renovated. There is a very nice breakfast buffet with hot foods.

"Hotel nightmare"
I stayed at this hotel for one night for a quiet nice getaway. We got to the hotel to check in and walked in and the paint smell hits you at the front door. You were walking on pieces of wood to go to the front desk. There the guy that check us in said there would be no breakfast cause they were in the middle of remodeling. And then inform me that the […] indoor pool was not available to use cause there was sheetrock in the pool and carpet pieces everywhere in the pool area. I was not happy with not having a pool to swim in since that was one reason we stayed at this hotel. The rooms were ok. The heater didnt work to well. But the beds were comfortable. The bathtub was a little dirty but not a big thing. Wouldnt stay here again anytime soon. Maybe should have something on there website saying there under remodeling. This hotel was clean. The beds are comfirtable. The price is right. We have stayed at several hotels in Williamsburg but will be staying at this one from now on.

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times and have always been happy with the conditions. The free breakfast is great - always enough hot and cold items to eat and satisfy anyone's appetite. There is coffee, tea and hot chocolate 24 hrs. day.

"Pick another hotel"
Poor service, room not as promised, stained and dirty carpeting, holes in the walls that weren't fixed or covered up, customer service nonexistent. My wife was supposed to receive a corporate discount and the hotel refused that once we arrived. Despite all the above, we wanted to stay 2 extra nights but the hotel tried to rip us off by charging nearly […] double the rate. We found another hotel nearby that was much better and more pleasant for less money so we left Hampton Inn and Suites. I thought the bed was great but my husband has hip problem. And it was hard on his hip. but we use the sleep soaf and was fine.
For me, the hotel was a nice, clean hotel. I had a little problem with the back door that was supposed to be "locked at all times" be OPEN at all times. It was one of those doors where you're supposed to swipe your card key to get in, but it would just AUTOMATICALLY open when you walked near it. "Enjoyable stay close to Williamsburg"
My family, two adults and two teenagers, stayed two nights in early September. We stayed in a one bedroom suite which consisted of a small kitchenette (lg fridge, two stove elements, microwave, and dishwasher), two queen beds, and a sofa bed. The room was slightly dated, but clean and spacious. We really appreciated the sofa bed, which had a fairly […] good quality mattress. We had a great stay at this hotel. The rooms were nice and very very clean. Hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating. The hot breakfast was great especially for a family on a buget. It was close to all attractions and shopping as well as places to dine. We would definitely stay here again when in the area.

Pros: Staff was friendly, responsive and helpful. Close to Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown Victory Center, Jamestown Settlement, Busch Gardens and Water Country USA water parks. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. An indoor pool which we never got to use though. Flat screen TV in room with cable. Cons: Breakfast was disappointing, scrambled eggs […] were way too dry and over coooked, two waffle makers were not enough for the huge crowds, not enough chairs and tables for the mad rush of hungry folks, every chair was dirty with stains from spilled food. Side motorized door was not secured - anyone can just walk in without a card key. Since the neighborhood was fairly safe we did not feel unsafe because of this unlocked door. Toilet in our room was loose and felt like the bowl was gonna tip over when you reach for the toilet paper (yikes). Mini-fridge made an annoying humming noise thoughout the stay - noisy at night. No in room safes. Room furniture needs updating - lots of brown wood decor and flooring - even bathroom sink mirror looked like old painted brown wood (oh well). On August 16, 2011, a power outrage happened for 2 hours around 9pm and the hotel staff didn't bother to inform the guest what is happening. It's as if we did not matter to them. No explanation given during our entire 5 days of stay.

"College visits in area"
Very disappointed with our stay at this location. We had a problem with ants in our room that was very unnerving. Explained the situation upon check out and was told by Mgr. if we would have notified someone sooner they could have sprayed...I chose not to have been exposed to the pesticides during my stay.
