Kings Courtyard Inn - Charleston

We enjoyed our stay at the Kings Courtyard. The room was beautiful, but there were a few tiny problems. The bed was gorgeous, and it was thoughtful for them to provide steps to get into the thing, but in the end, the only way to get into the bed was to backroll like a high jumper. One day our room had not been cleaned by the time we got back (5:00 PM) […] and they never got the toenail clippings left by some previous occupant.at the edge of the bed in the three days we were there. The breakfast was great, served in a lovely courtyard. Parking was convenient but the spaces are tiny. They have a lovely free wine & snacks happy hour Monday through Friday. The Kings Courtyard was very good. Centrally located in the downtown , offstreet parking, 12$ per day and only 1 block to The City Market. On King Street where all the good shopping is. Only a few blocks from the cruise ship terminal and the water.

For a bed and breakfast the breakfast sure was skimpy, just a bagel, half a bowl of cereal, and some yogurt.

Hotel room was little dingy and needed updates. Everyone was nice and pet friendly was key! Service at check in was friendly, but better instructions regarding arrival needed. Rating is high because of great bfast waitress named Tina! Overall a fine place... Not luxury, but nice!

Fantastic location - can't beat it. Even has parking available right out back. Quaint, historic, beginning to become a bit long in the tooth, but very satisfactory all things considered

This overpriced hotel is in real need of updating! I realize it was a B&B , thus historic, but please! We paid good $$ to stay there. The room was not was the photo showed for what we booked. It was like a small closet! The location was good to the market, but that's all. Would not stay there again. Much nicer hotels in that area to choose from.

Room was much smaller than expected (based on the photos shown). Pricy for what it is. Wouldn't have stayed if it weren't for the hotels.com reward that covered 3/4 of the cost.

It was perfect. Room was very nice and the service was great. I liked that it was different and not just a hotel room. They courtyard is wonderful. Besides the quality of the hotel and service this place is located near about anything you want or need to do. Walk to restaurants and shops or grab a bike taxi - just a great location.

For the price, we probably wouldn't stay here again. The location is amazing - right in the middle of all the great shops on King street, and we were able to walk everywhere. The room needed a little help. I'm all for historic charm, but when there are scuff marks on the walls from chairs (needed to be painted), wallpaper peeling off in the (teeny tiny) […] bathroom, and a tub/shower that showed black (mold? dirt?), it wasn't awesome. It wasn't bad enough for us to complain, though I'm sure some would have. We weren't in the room all that much so we were fine. Other positives: great free breakfast that we had delivered to our room for no additional charge. A really nice plus. All in all, a neutral visit. Didn't love it and didn't hate it. Lisätietoja

Great location. Hotel and our room seemed a bit sparsely decorated when we were there, but all the staff were helpful and high quality. Huge continental breakfast each morning, wine and sherry each night.

This was a great find for a quick weekend get away. The staff was friendly and very helpful and we found that the King's Courtyard Inn was right in the middle of where we wanted to be. The Market was only a block away.

Friendly and enthusiastic staff. Knowledgeable too. Gave us several good restaurat suggestions. Rooms are sizeable and well appointed, area of town is fairly quiet at night, but hotel is centrally located within easy walking distance of the market area, and right on King Street which has many shops and restaurants. Happy hour featured different appetizers […] and reasonable red and white wines, breakfast options were better than average. Nice hotel.... needs some updating but very enjoyable visit. Complimentary breakfast, wine and cheese are truly wonderful add ons. Rooms are very comfortable and staff is outstanding. Also very quiet and great location in the historic district on King Street just steps away from Market Street.

We recently spent a short family vacation in Charleston and chose the Kings Courtyard for both its location and historical basis (hotel was built in the 1850's). The rooms were more than ample for our family of 4, and while we did add a rollaway, it fit fine considering the amount of time we spent in the hotel. It was quiet, comfortable, and convenient. […] The in-room complimentary continental breakfast consisted of warm, fresh pastries that were excellent, and some great coffee. Likewise, the small breakfast available from the restaurant was inexpensive, tasty, and ample. We have stayed in some of the larger hotels close to the City center on previous Charleston visits, but our first time at the Kings Courtyard last weekend was the best yet. If you are looking for ultra modern glitz, this is definitely not it. A beautiful and well appointed hotel built in 1853 withsome portions dating to the mid-1700's, this hotel is a good value among historic Charleston properties. The public spaces--courtyards and lounge--were pleasant spaces to sit and enjoy breakfast, afternoon wine and cheese, and evening sherry. Staff members were welcoming, friendly, and helpful.

What a lovely experience! The location was perfect...easy walking distance to everything. The room was as pictured and the bedding was top notch. The conceirge made wonderful recommendations and reservations. We enjoyed the wine in the afternoon and the sherry in the evening. Be aware that you will be charged for parking. The personnel were very helpful with all of our needs and the location was perfect for walking all over Charleston. We parked our car the day we arrived and never moved it until the day we left.

We had a wonderful vacation in Charleston. Kings Courtyard Inn was just super. Complimentary breakfast options were fine. Rooms were well appointed. The staff could not have been better. We had told the concierge we were going out for the afternoon and went back to the room to pick up our camera. Before we left the room, he called to alert us to a thunderstorm […] warning they had just received. Concierge helped with dining choices and arranging transportation back to the airport. The location can't be beat. We did not rent a car, but were within walking distance to everything we wanted to do or we used the free trolley service. Had a wonderful time exploring Charleston and staying at a intimate inn in downtown Charleston that reminded me of some of the European small hotels I booked. The courtyard was charming and when renovations are complete I;m sure you will attain all "5's".

The best thing about the King's Courtyard was the location. It is close to almost all Charleston's famous sites and restaurants. The staff was helpful and friendly. We were surprised at how convenient the parking was for the hotel.
