Hotel 71, Wyndham Affiliate - Chicago

Gym was very good and views from there were perfect. Room was classic style hotel room with big toilet. Location is very good, michican avenue goes very near so there is lots of restaurants and cafes nearby.

We had a disappointing start - our room was not ready when we arrived at 6:30 pm. Manager promised to take our keys to us to the hotel restaurant where we went to wait and eat. An hour later still no keys, and we ended up waiting in front desk line again to get the keys. Got the room at 8 p.m., and reception promised to send our luggage to the room. […] It arrived an hour later, only after calling the front desk. - Smaller, similar issues throughout our stay; probably due to a very busy weekend. Beds: mattresses quite worn, not the kind of nice hotel quality one would expect. Noise level: no street noise at 31st floor, but room doors let all the sounds of the hallway in. And there were a lot of loud groups that weekend. Front desk took complaints seriously and sent security, which did quiet down the party people. Hotellin sijainti oli erinomainen ja näkymät river-side huoneesta huikaisevat. Huone oli tilava ja muutenkin moitteeton. Kuntosalin varustelu oli erittäin hyvä ja näkymät sieltäkin olivat joelle mahtavat. Palvelu hotellissa oli myös hyvää tasoa. Ainoa miinus oli uima-altaan puute, jota etenkin perheemme lapset olisivat kaivanneet.

The staff was attentive and courteous and even upgraded our room for no charge when we could not get cell phone service in our first room. Perfect location and charming rooms. Would def stay again!

Our stay was excellent. Albeit as it was a friends getaway weekend and we tried to be respectful of others I know we were sort of loud but we got no complaints.

Hotel 71 was an excellent hotel. The staff were polite and professional, and they get our bonus point for bumping us to a suite. (Thank you!) The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped. Hotel 71 was a great place to stay; the rooms were very nice and the service was great. The lighting in each room was pretty dim, and there was no full-length mirror, which seemed odd for a hotel, but those are very minor quibbles and wouldn't keep me from booking another stay here.

We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. It seems that they are in the process of updating the rooms, but we were not bothered by construction noise. Front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. Only complaint is that I made an in person request for tea for the Keurig and the tea never came. Other than that, it was good.

I stayed on the 36 th floor.The view was spectacular. the noise from the remodeling was minimal. There was no cold water at the bathroom tap, only tepid to warm. the note left for housekeeping was not addressed. We three had no washcloths at first , then we received 2, never a third. This was my 2nd trip to Chicago and I'm glad that I chose Hotel 71. Fantastic location next to the Chicago River. Walking distance to sites, restaurants, shops, and public transportation. Rooms were very clean, and the bathroom was quite spacious. When I first booked this hotel, I wasn't sure whether to get the city or river view. GET THE RIVER VIEW […] ROOM!!! We were traveling with a group of 4. I must say that we all agreed on how much we enjoyed our stay at Hotel 71! The staff was very accommodating to us. When we asked for directions or for some extra items, they were delivered right away! The room was so clean and inviting. We found the rooms to be comfortable for all 4 of us and we didn't feel like […] we were to crowded. None of us would hesitate to stay at this hotel again. It was a very nice hotel, and gave us a free upgrade on our room. Vallet parking was $49 when across the street it was $14 to park overnight. Right downtown on the river.

I loved my stay here at this wonderful and beautiful hotel. For the price I paid for my room was well worth the cost. It was also inexpensive...especially given the fact that this hotel is right downtown and in a great location. We walked and took cabs everywhere we went and was not expensive at all. I had requested that my room be serviced before 3pm and when I got back to my room early around 2pm...my room was fully stocked and cleaned. I was very impressed. I stayed at hotel 71 for 3 nights and it was great. Perfect location. Easy to spot from a distance. Rooms were great. Only downside is the construction being done to the hotel elevators. However it did not slow the elevators up. It was a great time and would definitely stay again - once the construction is over.

We have no complaints about our stay. We were staying in Chicago for a long weekend and this hotel was walking distance to so much! I do have to say get the river view. It was such a great view!!!

I have stayed at 10+ downtown Chicago hotels and this was the most enjoyable yet. The view from the room was beautiful - overlooking the Chicago River.

After staying at numerous hotels downtown Chicago, I now stay only at Hotel 71. The convenient location and fantastic service I receive makes it the perfect hotel for me when there on business.

Very nice hotel in the city centre. It's not super luxe, foyer is small - but our room was spacious and the staff very pleasant. Great location for Magnificent Mile, Loop and walking to Greektown, Old Town & Loop. Choose valet parking at the hotel ($50) or $28 self park right next door. Parking in Chicago is expensive...just no way around it.

Perfect location! I was in a super delux room with a view to the river. The room was spacious and the view was spectacular. Bathroom was very clean with all the requisites including a TV. The shower was perfect, did not miss the bathtub one bit. The little bar area and the chaise definitely added great relaxation to our stay. We did miss a microwave, […] however it was no big deal. We ordered room service for dinner, the gelato was delicious! We noticed a note apologizing for the sound due to construction, however the sound was minimal and stopped at 4 pm. I really like this hotel. They were awesome for our second stay there. We got to check in early, and they also upgraded our room to a premium room, at no extra charge. We also had a bottle of wine, but forgot an opener and the restaurant was closed, so they searched around for an opener for us. This hotel is also located in an awesome part of the loop. […] It's an easy walk to anywhere in the city. It also is near the redline that takes you right up to Wrigleyville! Great location! Easy walking to mag mile, great restaurants, and other must-see attractions. Also easy access to all train lines if hoping to visit other neighborhoods like Wicker Park, Wrigley, etc. like we did (much cheaper than a cab fare too!) Only a 15 minute walk from Union Station if you decide to come to Chicago via train/Mega Bus.

We got upgraded to a river view room because our room had a handicap shower with no curtain. They were quick to move us and the view was AMAZING!!! The city view room isn't great because you're close to the buildings. I HIGHLY recommend staying in a river view room. The staff was friendly and helpful. Very happy with our choice to stay there.

I would recommend the hotel. The room we had (I was travelling with my 21 year old son) was very big - 2 big beds, sitting area and a desk area which meant we had plenty of room/space for each of us and our luggage etc. There was a fridge in the room which was also great.
