The staff was friendly, the facility was nice, and the location was just right with the water taxi pick-up location right near the hotel. This made it easy to see the area.

i thought the hotel needed some major updating. My daughter is allergic to down pillows so we needed foam pillows and they said they ran out so she had to sleep with no pillow. It is just a very run down property and not navigible for anyone in a wheelchair.

We booked a last minute night at Crowne Plaza and had a great time! We have lived in Jax for 11 years and never found an opportunity to stay here but now that we have moved, I am disappointed that we never made time for this. The room was beautiful (King, riverfront) and large (big enough for a roll away bed and crib for the children). Temperpedic beds […] are awesome! The pool was heated and has a beautiful view of the river. Ruth's Chris is in the hotel, and never disappoints with their steak. If you are visiting Jax, be sure to walk the riverwalk (just outside the back deck) and walk over the main street bridge to downtown. I was satisfied

Everything was great. Very clean and in good condition. Only complaint is that the towels could have been nicer.

We stayed here for a stop-over on our way to Key West from Columbus, OH, which is about a 12 hour drive. The room was well appointed and comfortable. There were lots of restaurants close by and even a water taxi that you take to Jacksonville Landing. The only minor complaint I had is that we had booked a Sunset view room and ended up on the back side […] of the hotel. However, since the rate from the sunset view and the standard view on Hotels.com were the same, I chose not to do anything about it. If you're looking for a great view of downtown and the river from the Southbank, the Crowne Plaza is IT! Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The balcony with river view was spectacular. Only minuses were: bed was a bit hard and the leaking of water into the parking garage below the hotel from unknown sources above and no mini-fridge. Convenient location, comfy room, beautiful view, friendly staff.

We had a riverfront view room. The view was great and right on the water. There were no chairs on the balcony to sit and enjoy your time out there. The bed was very comfortable and relaxing. The room was very basic, a bed, bathroom and TV, it seemed to need some updating. The staff was awesome, very friendly and nice. We were only there for one night so we didn't have a lot of time to do a much. The hotel was very nice. I've seen other complains on here about how bad the room was, and we thought the room was nice. Especially for the price. I figured there would be a lot going on staying on the riverwalk , but there wasn't. We took a water taxi to the other side (this […] was $3 a person). On the other side we found some good bars (Dos Gatos and The Drive Bar). We ate at a pizza place called Chicago Pizza. It was good, but staff not too friendly. It looks like there is a place for outside entertainment at The Landing, but it was raining so no one was playing music. We took a cab back to the hotel from dos gatos. I want to say it was maybe $5. The neighborhood is fine. Nice views of the river and skyline. However it is extremely difficult to find this hotel. It sits off the road with a parking lot/garage between the hotel and the street. There is a $10.00/day fee to park your car in the garage. Neither their site nor Hotel.com publishes this. The room was cramped. VERY SMALL! I was warned […] to get a Handicap accessible room, but since I am not handicap... did not. I can't list the size, but think of a micro (type) hotel. if you have ever been in one. I have a fractured elbow from navigating the bathroom. No joke. I have been on cruise ships with bigger rooms. THE ROOMS ARE SMALL! I warned you! Wallpaper peeling off the wall, bugs under the bed. Mattress was very uncomfortable. If this was a "keep the light on type of motel) then I would say you get what you pay for. But dang... this room was expensive! At one time I guess this was a nice place, but it is out of date, out of style, and not practical. I will NEVER EVER stay here again!!! Why I did this time was because the rest of my work associates were staying there. Found out they get points! Please remember.... 1. Hard to find / get to. 2. Small cramped rooms. 3. Nasty 4. Hotel was clean, but is past its prime. Stayed on Riverfront side and noise from cars on bridge kept us up all night. On a side note, as always, the food and service at Ruth's Chris was second to none.

The Crowne Plaza is on the riverfront, but unfortunately it's on the wrong side, so you have to drive or take a water taxi to the nearby shopping, restaurants, and bars/clubs. Great for a business trip, but maybe not ideal for leisure travelers. There's one restaurant in walking distance (the Southern Grill), which was fantastic, but unfortunately […] not open for dinner. This was a nice hotel on a riverwalk. Other than hotels and restaurants, there is little else on the riverwalk. The hotel is on the opposite side of the river from the 'landing' where alot of the bars and restaurants and shopping are. It is a 15 minute walk across the bridge that is right beside the hotel. We went there to see the city of Jacksonville. […] While it is a beautiful city, we didn't find much to do as a tourist. The bridge is especially beautiful at night - all lit up. Awesome. The riverfront rooms with the balcony were perfect for watching the fireworks and not being in the crowd at the Landing. The next night we had a fabulous dinner at Ruth's Chris (NYE was sold out in advance) and in between did downtown stuff! Landing, Friendship Fountain, Water taxi, heated pool! All in all a wonderful time and the staff at […] the hotel were super nice. Did I mention I am a local and am renting a room there again next year for NYE? Maybe even for the July 4th fireworks and someone talked about the boat parade in December! Lisätietoja

The only thing good about the hotel is the view of the river and easy access from the Interstate. The bed sheets were dirty. The food was bad and service was awful. I would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends.

Neither of the (very old and dirty) phones in my room worked so I could not even call to let them know. Therefore, I could not call for a wake-up, valet or room service nor call my traveling companion in another room. The lamp shade was just hanging on its base and the on/off switch didn't work properly. The carpet was disgusting. The hairdryer overheated […] and stopped the second I plugged it in. The mattress was uncomfortable and very lumpy. The door did not fit its frame so light streamed in on all three sides...as well as noise. I had to put a towel at the bottom but it didn't help and it was worse when housekeeping banged every single door a few times each. The sliding glass door to the dirty patio did not lock. There was no valet to help us leave (even after we had to go to the front desk to request one.) The parking valet left our car in its place - WITH THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION - until we happened to see it three hours after checking in. He said he "didn't know what we were doing", although he helped unload the bags and we told him we were checking in. The bartender was extremely rude and told us he "didn't want to be there." We had to give him back our glasses for a refill because they only had two port glasses! The only good things were Ruth's Chris Steakhouse downstairs and the linens were clean but that is, sadly, the truth of the matter. I was embarrassed that I chose this hotel for me and my brother for a reunion and will never, ever book with a Crowne Plaza again. I thought my experience in London (during the royal wedding) was due to it being "European" but both visits were true disappointments. The Crowne Plaza is no longer the jewel it once was. We had a riverview room on the 10th (top) floor and the view was fantastic!! The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very small and there was no counter space, but the shower had a huge shower head and the water pressure was good. The riverwalk was right in front of the hotel and you could walk to many places right outside the door. The food […] at the cafe was good, also. I had to go to Jacksonville for the first time for a business meeting the next morning downtown at the government building. The Crown Plaza is not only a beautiful hotel, it was almost too nice for the price I paid for the room. :) It is BEAUTIFUL inside and the steakhouse was great. The pool terrace overlooks the water front and is gorgeous at night. […] The hotel connect right to the river-front boardwalk which connects to the side walk on the blue lift bridge over the river to the Riverside tourist area on the other side...tons of restaurants, shopping, they even had a live talent show the night I was there. On my walk back over the bridge I walked over by the GIGANTIC fountain near the hotel, which was lighting up in different colors and dancing to the music played over the speakers -just like Las Vegas. All in all I really recommend the hotel and this part of jacksonville. It was a great visit, great staff, beautiful hotel, and awesome location right in the middle of all the best places. I travel a lot for business and have stayed at other Crowne Plaza hotels and this one was by far the worst. I will say that the staff was very friendly, just like you'd expect in the South, but the hotel room was old. The furnishings were old and the worst part was the bed. It was as hard as the floor! Nice hotel - we got a room with two double beds on the city side (I had wanted one king bed on the river side) but aside from that, it was nice and the beds comfortable. The staff at the hotel was exceptional. All were welcoming and truly helpful. The room was very comfortable and the view of the river, expecially at night with the lights on, was enchanting. Unfortunately we stayed for a funeral but the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very very nice.

The Customer Service at the Crown was very helpful and very cheery

Very impressed with overall quality and comfort of this hotel. Bed is Tempurpedic, I believe. Feels hard at first (very diff. from innerspring mattress), but SOOOO comfortable. I slept so well! EXCELLENT HOTEL FOR THE PRICE, WOULD LIKE TO HAD LARGER BEDS. OVERALL HAD A GREAT TIME IN JACKSONVILLE. WOULD LIKE TO HAD A CONTINENTIAL BREAKFEST.(FREE)
