I booked this hotel at the last minute. Boy am I glad I did. I was in town for a business summit which was held at the Westin, about 3 minutes walking distance. I'm on a budget so I decided I needed a place where I wouldn't need to rent a car to go back and forth to the conference. Every hotel around the airport was pretty expensive but not only that […] I would have had to rent a car which would have brought the overall price of my trip even higher. When I arrived at the airport, the shuttle was ready to pick me up with a nice courteous gentleman driving us back to the hotel. I checked in, and when I got to my room I was floored at the gorgeous room. Wood floors, 2 comfy queen size beds, tile in the bathrooms and beautiful countertops. The decor was very modern but also earthy. The desk area was very nice as well with what I think was a Herman Miller chair, very nice. The hotels grounds as well as the surrounding areas are very beautiful as well, considering they're close to the highway. Oh and oddly enough, given there proximity to the airport I didn't hear one airplane while staying at the Wyndham, inside my room and outside the property. The area surrounding the hotel is very artistic. The architecture of the buildings reminds of the modern buildings at my alma mater, which was big on modern designs. The reason I'm most happy I chose the Wyndham is because after the conference I was invited to a friends room who was staying at the Westin. Now the Westin was priced at about $100 more than the Wyndham so I chose not to stay there. Once I entered my friends room I was even more comfortable with my decision. The Westin seemed very old in their presentation. The floors seemed outdated and the room was the same. The Wyndham had the Westin beat hands down on appearance. I can't comment on service, but the Wyndham staff were very helpful with everything from directions to setting up my shuttle back to the airport as well as room service. We had a great deal on this hotel for a weekend away for just my wife & I. When we arrived the front desk gate us a complimentary room upgrade with a great view! The hotel is clean, decent menu if you want to have room service, courteous employees & within walking distance of the Performing Arts & South Coast Shopping. The hotel is near 2 other name brand hotels that I've stayed in. The Wyndham has them beat in service, quality of rooms, comfort of rooms, price, and friendliness of their staff. Having hardwood floors is a real nice touch too. The parking is reasonable and convenient. It is now my "go to" place to stay when working in the OC.

Very nice and clean and great service from the staff. The bar was cool and the bartender was totally funny and made good drinks! Not real happy with having to pay per day for internet and pay per day for parking in such a nice hotel. Unclear why there were mosquitoes inside my room biting me too.

Very nice hotel adjacent to performing arts center. Lovely grounds, nice furnishings. Very friendly and helpful employees. Walking distance to restaurants. Second time we've stayed in this hotel. Would recommend it.

Overall excellent stay. If you have to check out before 6 AM be prepared to bring your own stuff down!

I recently stayed in the Wyndam OC and it was just beautiful inside. The rooms have wood floors and everything looked really modern and clean. The bed was comfortable and the courtyard with the pool running through it was a really nice touch. It was within walking distance to a lot of great things - The South Coast Rep, South Coast Plaza, good restaurants […] etc. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone. Great price for it all as well! This hotel is walking distance to South Coast Plaza and dozens of neighborhood restaurants. The staff is phenomenal and totally eager to please. Restaurant is top-notch and the daily 3 hour happy hour will make you happy!

While there two clearly homeless people came in complete with shopping cart full of trash. Per front desk, they were paying guests there. While I care about the homeless, I don't want to think I might be sleeping on a bed that they had slept in the night before or what bugs are in the shopping cart. Also beware of hidden costs such as wireless and parking. […] Air conditioning/heat are not adjustable. If you like a cool room at night forget it. it had been about a year since i stayed at this hotel. the first time they were under construction and renovating so i owed it up myself to see the final product, i booked one night stay. the hotel is gorgeous and state of the art. they have replaced the early 80's decor and had already had a beautiful green/lawn and fountain area that gave it appeal. […] but most of all the staff was outstanding. there was an unfortunate event with room service, they forgot to record my room number so after waiting an hour i called again. they apologized for the overlook and compted some items. the in house manager was amazing and very accomedating. i would not let this mishap tarnish my overview and experience there, i would stay again. the remodel and service is at par with another. they also have an excellent buisness center. I work in California and always stay at the Wyndham Orange County. The staff is helpful and kind and most now know me by name. It is comforting as a business traveler to feel at how when your working and this hotel does that. The restaurant "Silver Trumpet" provides excellent cuisine and service at a reasonable cost. It is between LA and San Diego so […] it is in easy proximity to both cities. It is close to many malls, restaurants and shows making it pleasant for all personal and business needs. One of the best hotels I've stayed in. Courteous front desk personnel, friendly and helpful. Stayed in a room overlooking the lake. Great looking room, comfortable bed. The only caveat is the high rate for overnight parking. But otherwise a very pleasant stay. Conveniently located. I would definitely stay there again.

Staff are very helpful. Breakfast in hotel restaurant excellent and reasonable price.

Entry and elevator access is awkward. Noise in lobby and lobby bar horrific. Charging for parking -especially on weekends) is irritating since price of room is so high and charging for WiFi is unbelievable - they must not be interested in business customers. Bedding not well planned. Heatingt & cooling system did not stay on through the night.

Booked on Hotels.com for a family event and was delighted with the service and accommodations. Recommend highly and will visit again.

Pleased with Costa Mesa locationhowever, had a bit of difficulty getting around.This is not necessarly true of the side streets as much as California drivers and speed of the freeways. Loved your hotel and the garden,ponds surrounding it.

customer service are not very friendly, extra expenses are to expensive like parking fee $45/day and Wi-Fi fee. These extra fees are NOT explained when we check in and most of the hotels Wi-Fi is free for the hotel guests.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was very impressed with the comfort and environment of this hotel. However, the management was horrible. They were rude and seemed to talk down to guests. We had a few visitors come over for a few hours to catch up. They left (did not spend the night) and we kept the noise level low to prevent noise complaints. The […] managers were not only pushy with the guests that visited, but also charged us for unnecessary things. Because there was four people in our room they assumed "we were having a party" and automatically charged me for "smoking in a nonsmoking room". No smoking ever took place and certainly not a party. When I approached the manager the next morning about the bill, he went up to check the room and sure enough we did not party or smoke in that room. Before leaving he says "looks like you didn't smoke, sorry about that...or you just were good at covering it up". I felt that the front desk girls were nice and considerate, yet the hotel managers were rude. Because of this, I will not stay at this location again. Lisätietoja

Only used the hotel for sleeping. Seems like more of a business hotel since its surrounded by office buildings. Located right next to South Coast Plaza. Room was overall very clean. Staff was polite. Price was reasonable. Although they do charge for parking in their garage. Overall I was satisfied with the hotel, but not wowed by anything.

The hotel is very nice, rooms are very comfortable, and ambiance is great. It is also very quiet. The hotel looks very high class, but with budget staff. Seems they pulled their staff from a budget hotel - they don't have the 4-star service approach to match their environment. Negatives: The pool is small. Fee for parking. Hotel was very nice and comfortable. Our room was clean and serviced consistently well. We found the hotel to be very convenient to area restaurants and other amenities. We enjoyed it very much.

There is nothing negative that I can say about this hotel. The location was great, real close to where we needed to go. We had a beautiful view of the grounds and the lake. It was a lovely walk around the lake to get us started for the day. Very friendly staff. The only thing I wished we had had was a micro oven. Other than that, perfect. HB

We booked a "Standard King" over the website and drove down to Costa Mesa to our hotel. To our surprise, we went upstairs to our room to find that our room had two beds. The man at the front desk specifically told us that booking over this website doesn't specify whether a "standard king" means one king bed, or two queen beds - then what is it supposed […] to mean? I don't know. However, the lady next to him was SUPER friendly and kind, and she apologized, giving us a complimentary upgrade. We then went upstairs to our new room and put down our stuff. I was in the bathroom checking stuff out, when all of a sudden a SILVERFISH scuttled across the floor. My boyfriend had to come in and kill it for me. It's my first time seeing any kind of vermin in a hotel room. Then, my bf says that he saw a mosquito somwhere -later on he woke up to two mosquito bites on his arm. With that aside, we tried to go to sleep because we had to wake up early the next day. The walls here are paper thin because we could hear every foot step in the rooms around us, and the lady upstairs was walking around in heels (wood floors) all night. Parking is $15/night but that's standard for most hotels so I can't complain. The only stupid thing is, you have to obtain a permit from the front desk and then bring it back to your car. Our stay was great except for the a/c in our room would not get cold enough. The breakfast that came with our stay was a great value! Hope the a/c improves as we will be back again.

Except for the loud people next door to us. I do not recomment staying in a joining room door unless you are joining the next room! Very Noisy. We complained but the problem still exhisted. Was a little surprized that the manager wasnt willing to accomidate us a little more.

Our stay at this hotel was enjoyable. It was a pleasure to be able to park the car at the hotel, and walk across the street to the Segerstrom Music Theaters to see a "play", and then walk back to the hotel. Parking to check in is bad no space to park when checking in or out. I need to ride down the street about a mile and there told me they only use the shuttle van for airport pickup's and drop off. I would not stay there

There was a thermostat in the room, however, we were not able to adjust the temperature in the room and it was a little too warm for sleeping. 70 degrees. Also, there were plenty of towels, but only 2 wash cloths. One each for night and morning use. There was also some kind of a noise all the time similar to a generator running that never stopped. Also, […] there were only 2 standard size pillows for a king size bed, and they were pretty flat. Front desk staff was great, Yvette was very warm and efficient. Room was very nice except there are no extra pillows, I took off the sham from one pillow so that I could use it, but the pillow had a huge stain on it so I couldn't use it. My rate included parking but unfortunately on check out I was charged $15 for parking. I have requested a refund […] of the charge. I was not expecting anything this nice. The beds were super comfy and the staff was very nice. Everyone greeted us everywhere we walked in the building. Very nice landscaping all around.

It was a nice stay. Clean room with updated bathroom. Harwood floors instead of soiled carpets. The only thing I didn't like was the bar right in the lobby. Not too pleasant to see drinking guests, especially when you have kids with you.

Our room overlooking the landscaped lake had been reconditioned and was lovely. Service and food at the hotel "Silver Trumpet" breakfast was excellent. This particular booking through Hotels.com waived the normal parking fee.
