it was a very nice experience because it was so quiet I got the much needed rest that I was looking for. Thank You so very much!!!

Toilet clogged before I used it, used coffee filter pack in the coffee maker, coffee maker didn't work anyway....clean linen questionable, ironing board left print on my blouse, carpet gross and bathtub ottom black.....

The staff was friendly and it is good for weekend getaway.

I can't recommend this hotel. Towels and toilet cleanliness was questionable. Bed was very uncomfortable.

The room was fine. The breakfast not so fine. Filthy- no one picks up or cleans up. Sticky tables. Poor food selection. when embarking on an 11 hour drive good food is appreciated.

The front desk person on check-in was very nice, helpful and welcoming. The motel is basically a nice, comfortable place to stay for a short visit. Ask for a room on the marsh side. The front desk in the morning happened to be less friendly.; Oh well, maybe a long night.

Then hotel was awesome. Very clean and comfortable. However, the staff leaves very much to be desired.

I HAD BOOKED TWO ROOOMS AND BOTH WHERE VERY CLEAN. IT WAS IN A GOOD LOCATION ALSO. MY SON GRADUAUTED FROM PARRIS ISLAND WHICH WAS ABOUT 15 MINUTES AWAY AND A SHOPPING STRIP LESS THAN 10. IF YOU TAKE GREYHOUND THERE, THEY ARE RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO THE HOTEL. THE HOUSEKEEPERS ARE EXCELLENT TOO.

Overall very satisfied however, sliding doors were unlocked when we arrived so we slept one night before discovering it. We were unable to lock it, informed management and they locked it. Breakfast was reasonably ample and good

Stayed here for MCRD Graduation. Easy access to the base. Comfortable room and location.

We stayed at the Howard Johnson Beaufort for three days. The hotel was very cheap, which was a must for staying that long. We stayed in a double room, which was clean and everything that we would want for the price we paid. Our linens were clean, the room did not smell bad, and we did not have any bugs (I also checked for bedbugs). The staff was relatively […] nice when I did interact with them (though one was hard to understand). My only complaint was that it was really hard to lock the sliding door, and one of our lights did not work the way it should because the lightbulb was going out. Overall we had a very pleasant stay!! The group realy enjoy their stay at your HJI. Our stay was very quiety and very relaxing. The hotel was very close to where our group had to perform. Thanks for a great stay and we will be returning. Thanks the Group

Don't count on that first cup of coffee from the lobby before heading out to Family Day at Parris Island. On Thursday morning they won't open the lobby until 6am. They refuse to let you in the lobby at all before they open at 5:30am on Friday either. Staff was not what one could call friendly, they were barely polite, acted like it was a bother when […] asked questions. The bathroom had the sink counter top extending over the toilet, so it required you to sit sideways to actually use the toilet in the seated position. There were no "do not disturb" door signs in the room. Hair in the tub, sink, toilet and the sheets, it was disgusting to have to shake all that out before using the towels too. Getting out of the parking lot was an event in itself. To turn left to go towards the base required a left turn across 2 lanes with traffic coming at you from both ways in the blind. There are several other hotels that have easy access that would be far more easier to exit onto the road going to the base. I realize the locals go through a graduation event every Friday, and I imagine it's routine for them, but this hotel staff acted like it was a bother when asked simple questions. The shower was not very clean and the air was not on before we arrived so the soome was humid. One of our keys had issues working. It was inconvenient leaving in the morning for my son's Graduation from Parris Island so leave 20 earlier than exepcted. Good value, new mattress - we had a nice stay

At first I was hesitant to stay here after reading other reviews, but I booked a 2 full-bed, smoking room for 2 nights. I was actually very surprised and satisfied with the hotel and my stay there. First off, it is in a town called Beauford and it is NOT a tourist attraction at all whatsoever. I stayed here to attend a marine corps graduation which […] is on Parris Island, and this hotel is in a WONDERFUL location if you are attending a graduation. Parris Island is located 5-15 minutes away from the hotel. As for the room, it was clean. My room overlooked a swampy area, which isn't the best view, but it was still something and didn't bother me or my partner. And it didn't smell, thankfully. The air conditioner worked, and was actually pretty quick in making the room cold, which was awesome because it was so hot down in South Carolina. The TV had a remote and a channel guide but the channel guide was off. It had a safe and an iron and ironing board, which came in handy to iron my partner's uniform for the graduation. The complimentary breakfast was standard but they had a waffle maker and the waffles were awesome. Overall, for the price I paid, this hotel was well worth my money. Most of the staff was very nice, we checked in at night and the male attendant was very nice, the day female attendant was not so friendly and questioned whether we were guests even after I showed my hotel key and gave my room number. Every thing else was great!

THIS place has BED BUGS had all my money refunded.

I had no problem making my reservation with hotels.com, but I did have a serious problem with my room. As you enter the room there is this stench, odor that I can't really describe. The rug needs to be taken out and burned. I thought the bed was going to flip over when I sat on the edge, (and no, I am not over 200 lbs) the mattress must be from the […] mid to late 70's. No comfort, no cushion, just prings. The sheets made me itch all night. I fell asleep alittle after 4:15AM. And I had to be up by 7:00AM. The bathroom shower rod had previously been pulled down and made a hole in the wall and was re-attached to the wall with plaster. Very Bad Job. The rod is crooked and still looks like it is going to fall. The sink was clean. At least it looked clean. The coffee maker had no coffee. Just cups. One bar of 2"x2" soap bar. only stayed one night but loved the place the rate was very low, the room was clean the staff was polite and the area was great.

We booked this hotel under the presumption that it was better than most. It wasn't. The rooms were not clean. We were missing coffee cups and condiments. The pool closed earlier than it stated. The continental breakfast was gone by the time we arrived which was 30 minutes after it started. Recommend staying at the Sleep Inn instead. I was looking for a cheap room with a pool and free breakfast...and I found it. On the bright side, there was a roof over our head, we experienced no problems with noise, and our room had an absolutely beautiful view of the South Carolina Low Country. I got some amazing photos. We also were a close drive to the historic district and took a nice drive […] through. Down side: The room was worn and old. Not at all sparkling clean. The bath tub was stained or dirty...I wasn't getting in. The bathroom door would malfunction and people would get stuck inside. I am one of those "love my own soft bed" people, but this bed killed me. The pillows were flat, the bed was so hard it felt like sleeping on the floor. I tossed and turned all night and my 30-something body is STILL hurting. Breakfast was free but it was nuked pancakes, cereal- with funny tasting milk (and apple juice) and watered down coffee. Let's face it...I'm probably AT LEAST a $100 a night girl, so they were probably doomed from the get-go. If you are looking for a quick, cheap stay with a pretty view...go for it. Room was clean but very outdated. Beds are very uncomfortable and the comforter had blood stains on it. Seen a roach in the bathroom and the coffee pot is in the bathroom. Will never stay here again.

The hotel room was very clean. When we checked in the room had towels, wash clothes, soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The hotel was conventionally located between the Marine Air Corp Station and Hunting Island.

the manager worked with me for reservations, my only problem was the customer service when i first got there could have been a little better. overall it was a nice stay and i would stay here again.

The hotel smelled, old looking, dirty, needed maintenance. The sink was clogged, lamp was falling apart, one of the outlets didn't work, our keys didnt work. The bed had stains. I would never stay at a Howard Johnson's again.

Hotel staff is very unfriendly and seems as though their customers are bothering them by simply checking into their hotel. Upon checking into the room the shower area was under construction and the metal pieces of the tub (facet, etc) where not completely assembled. The room is either extremely hot or cold. We were barely at the hotel, just for one […] night, and really only for maybe 2 hours that we were not sleeping and I am glad it was just one night. This motel was not too bad. Don't expect a luxury motel. I would stay there again if nothing else was available. I really enjoyed the view from my room.

I was only in this town for one night. When I arrived in the room things appeared to be okay. I went to take a shower and the tub was full of hair long, short, light and dark. I was in a rush so I had to clean the tub out and use it so that I would not be late for a wedding. The person that I went there with room was worst plumbing problems and her […] sheets was wet. This was one of the worst experiences that I have had a hotel. The pipe under the sink was busted so water went all over my feet. There was no maintenace man there to fix it. My sheets had some unknown substance on it. They had no other room to move me to. So my stay wasn't pleasant.

Hotel is dated and could use a face lift. You just felt very dirty. The king size matteries was the pitts.

Not bad for the money. Nothing special about the place, had to request soap & towels when we first arrived, but that was no big deal. The breakfast was nothing to write home about, but it was free. Over all ok for the money, it was a little further out of town than we realized, but we enjoyed watching the jets take off from the base out our window.

The hotel was not quite what I expected no pool no jacuzzi and it had a very unpleasant odor. The main bathroom in the main lobby wasnt working and we had to use the mens. It was very close to Parris Island though that was a plus like five min away.

I stay in a lot of hotels. This is not worth the price.

Had a smell that I couldnt quite place even with the AC on was hot, very close to the Greyhound station so people were wandering around all hours on the night. Could drive down the street and get a hotel for the same price.
