"Convenient"
I think the price was way overpriced for the quality of the room. This hotel is going through a major renovation. I only stayed here because the Holiday Inn down the street where I normally stay was sold out. "It's Time for a Change"
The Days Inn at Hugenot is undergoing a change this summer ... and it can't come soon enough. Maybe LaQuinta under new management can bring up the standards. Soap scum in shower/tub ... no trash cans or toilet paper. Tile in throughout the hotel looked dingy and dirty. Elevators were not cleaned. Overall I will not waste my money there ever again.

"Adequate but needs update"
We stayed for 1 night and it was ok. If I were going to stay longer... the room was showing it's age. The bathroom grout in the bathroom tile needed attention. The toilet ran during the night. There were 3 adults in the room and no extra towels. No ice bin and cups.
We enjoyed our stay in Richmond at the Days Inn. The employees were great, friendly, and eager to help or answer any questions that we had. The location of the hotel was great. The things that we were there for was within a good distance from where we were. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

stayed here 4-5 times in past 2 years, each time less courteous and less amenities. no longer use fitness center as before. less clean and staff who act like every query is a bother to them. will not stay there again
"Very Tired Hotel"
to say that I am disappointed in the quality of this hotel would be putting it mildly. I normally don't mind a hotel that needs some updating but this one is beyond needing, it's imperative. In addition, there is a shortage of towels and pillows. Unless they renovate the hotel I would not recommend it to anyone.

"Nonsmoking rooms"
I was told I had booked a nonsmoking room which I did but when I got there it smelled like Cheech and Chong had just left for those of you that didn't dee that movie it reeked of nasty disgusting cigarette smoke!!!
The supposed non-smoking room stunk to high heaven. The alarm clock did not work, two of the electrical outlets did not work. Towels were old, worn and extremely small. But, in our haste to leave the hotel we left a phone in the room and the staff retrieved it for us. The staff were very friendly, but could not make up for the quality of the hotel.

This hotel is very close to the mall, restaurants, and shopping. Room was nice and clean, very nice to have a refridgerator and microwave in the room. Hotel breakfast leaves a little to be desired with very limited selections.

This hotel served me well on a previous trip to Richmond, but since then, clearly the condition has taken a turn for the worse. Upon my arrival, I checked in just fine. When I entered the elevator to head up to my room, there was a pair of dirty underwear lying on the floor. After stepping out of the elevator onto the fourth floor, the smell of cigarette […] smoke almost overpowered me. Checking that the sign on my door did indeed indicate a non-smoking room, I entered cautiously. The room left a fair amount to be desired. While it did not reek of smoke like the hallway did, it was obvious by the smell that did hang in the air that the cleaning staff was desperately trying to cover up the fact that it had, at one point, been a smoking room. The shower and bathroom were fine. The television had a small screen, limited channels, and appeared to be from the 1990's. I chose this hotel because it was close to the audition venue for the Richmond Symphony. If this is why you are looking at this hotel yourself, understand that you will still need to drive to the venue. It really is impossible to walk from this hotel to the venue. Best hotel location there is for the James River High area. But the Hotel needs updating. If updated they could fill it most nights at over $100 per night.
"Good location"
We were in the area for a family thing. We had stayed two nights at another hotel in the area, but didn't like the location. The Days Inn could certainly use some updating, but the location, near food and shopping was more desirable.
"DO NOT STAY"
After the third dirty room the night staff put us in I checked out and moved to another hotel. The staff explained the room (two days) paid in advance could not be refunded, I would have stayed in my rental car than sleep in those rooms. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!
"Days Inn Richmond/Chesterfield Towne Center Mall"
Everything about this stay was bad. This location is in desperate need of a remodel. Bed horrible, towels were almost see - through thin, our room was NEVER cleaned at all during our two day stay. The bed was never made, no fresh towels or soap. We had to take the towels down to the desk to get clean ones. The continental breakfast was serviced by a […] women that watched anything a customer consumed and was eating herself the whole time it was open! fourth time we have stayed here because near relatives. hotel advertises fitness center which we use and enjoyed in past. now, they will not allow usage of fitness center which is off hotel premises on weekends anymore. we probably will not stay here because of that in future. they should not advertise fitness center if not allowed.

This is a hotel which is a bit out of the way. It is close to a mall, and if one finds that useful, it's good. Otherwise not recommended. Even the hotel staff discouraced me going to the close by gas station at night, if not necessasry.

Hotel property was acceptable. Staff was untrained and not competent to handle problems. Our 1st floor rooms were opposite meeting spaces. They began vacuuming hall at 0700 on Sunday morning. "Cheap Hotel"
Paid for 1 non smoking room with two double beds.. Room smelled like smoke..Bathroom shower had mold stains around the drain..Overall it wasnt terrible for the price but the thing that really dissapointed me was how rude the service was. The morning after my stay i went downstairs to visit the free continental breakfast..The host of the breakfast was […] extremely rude and made my stay at the hotel even worse. He complained about me getting an extra plate for my waffles, and even tried arguing with other hotel guests. "Hard to complain. Good price-convenient-adequate"
Convenient to where I wanted to be. Room was clean and comfortable except for 2 burned out lightbulbs and an alarmclock that would not set. A quick trip to the desk got a replacement.

This hotel is located in a shopping center so your food choices are good. The room had over "scented" the room every time they cleaned it. When asked the front desk to change to another room due to the overpowering smell, they said no. But they "resolved" the problem by spraying a different smelling scent which only made it worse. "Days Inn Richmond/Chesterfield - Short night stay"
Checked in at 10 pm on a Friday evening and out at 8 am on Saturday. Quick stay, but found the room to be clean and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was good. Service was courteous and accommodating. Only strange event was that in our non-smoking room we found an unsmoked cigarette on our lamp table. What was that about???
The hotel was in a nice location. We were able to walk to resturants and a nice mall. Breakfast was a typical free breakfast, server was nice and food area was clean. The only negitive thing I must add is the cigarette holes in our blankets on the beds. We were in a nonsmoking room.

"cleanliness"
Were were changed from the 2nd floor to the third floor, because, there were no frig or micro. When got to the 3rd floor, the sheet on the bed had stains and when the maid came in , she said yes there were stains on the sheet, but the sheet was clean. I have never heard of anything like that before. We do not like and will not sleep behind anybody. […] The carpet was stained bad on the 2nd floor. "Mediocre Hotel"
Front desk staff was not friendly upon check in. Entire 5th floor smelled very badly of smoke. Room was well kept. Overall stayed there because it was the lowest price and got what I paid for.

Staying at the days inn was very convenient to family,friends,and shopping. After being on the road for 12 hours, it was nice to stretch our legs in the mall.employees were very attentive and friendly.overall a very pleasant stay. .

Basic hotel. Could use some upgrades and modernization. Old Air units in each room. Need more modern tv's. Considering it's location, could be much better at offering potential guests incentives to stay. Maybe a partnership with some of the stores across from the mall. Very close to restaurants and movies and other attractions.

While a confusing ride from the airport according to my GPS, this place was spitting into the wind distance from the mall. Super clean, well-kept and a friendly staff. Great place for the price.

"Its okay for 1 night if you're passing through"
It was really inexpensive, so you have to be realistic. We were just finding a place to stay on a road trip as we arrived late and left early the next morning. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable and the tv made this loud whining noise when it was on. The temperature in the room fluctuated as the heating unit wasn't working perfectly.
