Crockett Hotel - San Antonio

It was convenient and close to riverwalk and bus stops to take us where we wanted to go. It was clean and roomy.

We love the Crockett. It's old, historic, and classic. Not a luxury hotel, but a great place at a reasonable price. The location can't be beat - right behind the Alamo and within walking distance of all downtown sites. Our room was spotless and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Overall it was the worst experience ever! My boyfriend and i decided to visit for the weekend. The hotel is located right smack in the middle of the city, an ideal location for tourist. We took part in some fiesta events ( which is a week long party with festivals and parades) and decided to head back to our room early. Since it was still early in the […] evening we wanted to order a movie. Well the cable wasn't working. So the matinece guy came up and said "the system was down." We were OK with that and opted to watch one on our laptop, which was in our car we had valeted. Well the valet lost our car! We spent an hour and a half looking for it! At this point its almost midnight. We decide to call it a night. About 1 am a huge fight starts right outside our room in the middle of the street! We call the front desks which takes 30 min to get a hold of someone!!! Then they say they cant do a thing about it!?? WHAT??? SERIOUSLY!??? The hotel staff was not helpful in anyway! They were not even concerned about how upset we were or uncomfortable our stay was. We will never go back to this hotel ever again!!!!! Lisätietoja

we stayed at the crockett for our honeymoon and it was a lovely hotel! breakfast was tasty and the room was very clean and comfortable. location is great and right across the street from the alamo! it would be even nicer if they upgraded to flat screen TVs!

We were very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. We were pleasantly surprised at how close we were to the river walk. Our room was a little small and dark in the entry - where the mirror, counter and coffee maker were. But everything was very nice and clean. What a lucky find! We were able to walk all round San Antonio just at the beginning of the fiesta. Lovely place to stay. Car charges are a bit steep for parking.

Our stay was so fantastic. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful especially with the eggs and fruit in addition to the waffles and other goodies. The hotel itself is a landmark and beautifully maintained and kept. The room wasn't ornate/too fancy, they were simple, fastidiously clean and nicely furnished and decorated. The staff was courteous, helpful and the atmosphere was quite peaceful considering the hotel looked like it was at capacity for the Easter weekend. VERY impressed. Super clean rooms with great staff. What a gem of a hotel. Does not look like much from the outside, but much nicer than inside. I had friends who stayed at other hotels which were MUCH more expensive than this one but not nearly as nice.

Very satisfied with price and location. Quiet, decent continental breakfast, free wi-fi, worked good for me.

The front desk clerk was not friendly. I received a negative impression immediately. If I had not prepaid my entire stay I would have left immediately. I will not stay there again nor will I recommend this hotel.

At its price this is a very good hotel, close to the Alamo and easily accessible to the River Walk and other attractions. We did not have any special requests but found the staff to be very courteous and helpful with questions. Very clean hotel even tho it's old. Across the street from the backside of the Alamo-one block from the riverwalk entrance and trolley.Across from the City Tour Trolley/ Free breakfast (do it yourself waffles and toast), fruit-scrambled eggs-good for free. We did not get the room we reserved. Instead of one bed, we got two, and we got a handicapped room next to the ice machine (which we could hear every time someone got a bucket). No one asked, at checkout, if we had a nice stay.

We had a wonderful time just had trouble sleeping due to noise, if you stay ask for a room on the outer walls of the hotel to avoid noise from bar and entrance

I would not recommend this hotel. I checked in and was given a room on the 4th floor which smelled like mildew. The entire building is old and has an unpleasant odor. Do yourself a favor and stay at the surrounding hotels. I was given another room on the 3rd floor. Although the room looked clean, it felt dirty due to odor. Very clean, well decorated rooms. Convenient to all of downtown San Antonio. Rooms are on the small side, but overall well worth the price.

Lovely hotel, clean and airy. Perfect location for Alamo and Riverwalk. Our bedroom was painted in a relaxing green and had plenty of space. It actually overlooked the garden behind the Alamo. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Cool historic hotel, great location, helpful staff, rooms are a little small but adequate for 2 people, could hear street noise, but keeping the bathroom fan on drowned it out sufficiently

Enjoyed our stay. Room was clean, hotel is in a great location for tourists. Staff was very friendly. Overheard my 7 year old telling his brother "our hotel was real fancy.". This may be stretch, but it was nice. Only problems - no room darkening shades, room pretty bright at night, double not queen bed, but knew this going in. Will stay again.

My husband and myself went on a weekend get away we had no kids for the weekend and wanted to go san antonio we got to the hotel about 9:30 or so and they said check in was not intil 3pm but i can leave my luggage and they will park my car and car me if they have my room ready and they asked us if we had breakfast because they said breakfast is still […] going and if we there is something we want but dont see it they will make it for us this is they first hotel that has every told us that ... so we went across the street to the alamo went walking around for a little while got the phone call saying the room was ready and they already had our luggage out waiting for us we will be back with our kids and our friends want to go with us when we go back it was very clean and everybody there was very nice .... Not the best experience we've had.

Excellent location, comfortable night stay. Room was nice and clean. Front desk person was very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was more than expected; Texas shaped waffles and scrambled eggs were delicious. The bar had great happy hour prices on drinks. The elevators are to small.

A very reasonable cost for an excellent room and location. The Alamo was right outside along with great shopping! Mortons Steak House was across the street for a fine dining experience. My husband and I recently celebrated our 1 yr anniversary at the Crockett- It was very nice, great location, walking distance to all we needed, staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty basic but it was fine. Our room faced the back side of the Alamo, the lights from the streets shone straight through our window- there are wood blinds […] on the window that don't block out much light. I usually sleep with a fan at night but forgot to bring one. This was our first time to San Antonio and we really liked our stay at the Crockett!! Very friendly staff and accomodating!! The only downside was the size of room for 3 people, little small. I thought we were getting queen size beds, they were doubles, and the bathroom was small. We really wished there was a small fridge too, eating out gets expensive […] and no where to keep cold beverages!! :-(. I'd love to stay again if we ever go back to San Antonio!! Old historic hotel done in modest style, perfectly clean, lovely morning light buffet, extemely nice and helpful staff. Location is great for Alamo, RiverCenter Mall and the Riverwalk. Great value

We stayed in this hotel for a weekend getaway. The price and location were excellent - we were able to walk to all of our destinations (The Alamo, Tower of the Americas, Riverwalk, and others) because it was so close. The hotel is obviously a renovation of an old hotel, so the rooms are smaller than "newer" alternatives - but not terrible. Our one […] BIG issue was the noise. Our room faced the interior lobby/courtyard and we spent all night listening to noises from the Front Desk and other visitors to the hotel. As if that was not enough, the noise came from everywhere - the hallway outside our room, the breakfast area beside the lobby, the air conditioner in our room, the bathroom fan in our room, etc. There was no quiet to be found. All in all, the hotel was a great buy and fit our needs just fine - but I would recommend looking elsewhere if you actually want to get any rest. Lisätietoja

Alamo is just across the street, and the riverwalk a few blocks away. The Rivercenter mall is across another street next to the Menger hotel, whose pool and spa can be used for free if you stay at the Crocket. The Crocket has also an outdoor pool. We chose the Crockett Hotel because of its location, location, location. It was walking distance to just about everything we intended to see on our short visit to San Antonio, so we didn't need to rent a car. The property is extremely well maintained. Although an old building, it is very much updated and appears to be a new building with an old look. […] Our room was very comfortable and quiet. The compimentary breakfast was excellent.
