Linden Row Inn - Richmond

Historic hotel with lots of character. However, they have a lot of maintenance that needs to be done to bring it back up to a 3 star rating. The entry to my room smelled strongly of mold and mildew. The room had several items that needed minor repairs. There were also many areas in the common areas that needed attention. But it is a beautiful historic […] building in an old area of Richmond. The neighborhood was a bit of a concern for walking around in the evening. And all parking is on street, with no parking times that almost require you to use their valet parking. Everything was perfect at the Linden Inn. Great staff. Very comfy beds.

Checked in and liked the experience so much that we asked for another night within a couple of hours. We had a charming, if smallish room facing the enclosed garden of this 19th century hotel. quaint , historic inn with significant ties to famous past Richmond figures in the literary, civil war, political and social spheres. Superb location--within one mile--walking distance--to major attractions. If you want to stay, at a reasonable price, somewhere that is a change from your typical modern, chain hotel system, this is it.

Its at the heart of Richmond. Valet Parking. ComplImentary continental breakfast. Very Clean Rooms, and the grounds are just gorgeous, i felt lIke i was stepping back in time yet with all the comforts of modern day

We were looking for a hotel for one night while we were there for a concert. It was within walking distance to the Coliseum. The old inn was charming and clean. We loved it and the Continental breakfast was nice. TV was small but we weren't there to watch it anyway. Would definately stay there again.

The staff was friendly and helpful.

What a wonderful gem in the heart of downtown Richmond. It has modern comforts that we all enjoy mixed in with historic charm. Great hotel and a nice difference from a chain.

Taxi to any excellent bar restuarant. Jefferson hotel 2 blocks away! Only potential issue is parking. Make sure you ask the front desk

Charming historic hotel with some modern ammenities. Don't expect brand new crown moulding or paint, this is a historic building! Shuttle was very willing and very flexible (big plus - too many one way streets for me).

We stayed at the Linden Row Hotel because we had tickets to see the Lion King at the Landmark Theater. While the hotel offered to take and pick us up in the shuttle, the hotel was close enough to the theater that we were able to walk there in about fifteen minutes. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom looked as if it had recently been updated. […] We felt that the room and furniture could use an update, as well. The continental breakfast was more than adequate, and we found the staff to be very helpful. We were quite excited to stay at the Linden Row Inn, given its historic design. Sadly it was not a very pleasant stay. While one might expect a historic hotel to have a somewhat "older" look, the rooms are in bad need of renovation, and updating. Our bedsheets and pillowcases had stains on them, and there was visible wear/cracks along the walls. The […] TV had a poor picture for most channels, and the walls are fairly thin. Additionally the garden rooms are incredibly cramped. The pictures make the quality, condition and size of the rooms look far more appealing than it actually is. The only positive was that the bathrooms had been recently updated and were very nice. Other than that, we were quite disappointed. Friendly helpful staff, a limited scheduled evening shuttle bus service, large room, nice bed, decent continental breakfast, elevator, ice machine, good heating & cooling.

Pros: great location: I could walk most places the breakfast is satisfactory updated bathroom room gets nice sunlight service desk is helpful Cons: peeling/stained wall paper in rooms pubic hair in sink upon arrival (seriously?!) towels had makeup stains single-pained glass = hear outside noises (didn't really bother me) fabric decor in room not exactly […] appealing Evaluate the above. For me, I probably would not go back. I would recommend it for the location and if you get a really good deal I'd say, "why not?" I got a great rate on the hotel room. my favorite thing about Linden Row (besides location) was that they allowed me to keep my car there even though I checked out in the morning. this was a plus since parking is difficult to come by. I stayed at the Linden Row Inn the night before a nursing convention, which was at the Marriott. This hotel was very close by, very clean, quiet, and a beautiful historic building. The beds were clean and comfortable. The breakfast the next morning was great, also.

Great location. An interesting place and comfortable alternative to the other high price accomodations in the neighborhood and the chain hotels--needs some cosmetic attention to maintenance. Breakfast should extend to 11.

We enjoyed our one nite stay here, Lovely historic hotel, comfortable sitting room and helpful staff. We needed to get eyeglasses in a drug store and the shuttle took us and waited for a return. Very accomodating and kind. Close to downtown and government area Very convenient

A really fun, eclectic place close to some great bars and restaurants. Not your typical hotel. A real treat and a great breakfast. If you like history and funk, this is the place!

The Linden Row Inn is a lovely historic hotel in downtown Richmond. The surrounding neighborhood is a bit rough, but not unsafe. My room was spacious and quiet, the bed very comfortable, the bathroom recently renovated. Beautiful row homes are tied together with a common hallway. Elevator was out, but I'm healthy, so I didn't mind the walk up to the third floor. Loved my huge room and bathroom. Very comfy bed. Not pleased with the heavy comforter, which was probably good to 40 below. Too hot on, too cold off. A lighter comforter would be better. Took advantage of the […] shuttle, which always came quickly. The staff was excellent. The location was not too bad. But the room lacked some. The TV was circa 1940 and had lines going thru it. And the room was little outdated. But staff made up for it and the size of room was a plus.

Run-down hotel. Shoddy furniture. Not what it use to be. Stay away

The only thing I did not like was the small t.v. But with all the museums and shopping near by, the t.v. was the last thing you really needed. Enjoy this place its awesome!!

What a little gem! We knew nothing about accommodation in Richmond and were pleasantly surprised by the Linden Row Inn. It is charming hotel, lots of character, great service and friendly staff.
