Very small elevator. Tiny and narrow halls. Only coffee & oj not a continential breakfast as advertised. Flat screen mounted on a odd wall for viewing from your bed. Hot water was luke warm so not so pleasant showers. Staff was nice & it was quiet. So as they say u get what u pay for.

I was a little wary of this place after seeing how inexpensive it was for the location and seeing a couple mediocre reviews, but was looking for a reasonably priced place in Center City. However, the place was great! The room was very comfortable and clean. There was a mini-fridge and microwave in the room as well as a flat-screen tv. The bed was SO […] comfortable, too. The hotel was small - only 7 or 8 rooms on a floor - and very quiet. There were no slamming doors or noises in the hallway, even though the hotel was completely booked. The lobby was small but clean and well maintained with a fireplace and a computer with quick internet for guest use. There was also free wi-fi throughout the hotel. There is parking directly across the street in a parking garage, and the hotel validates parking so you pay half price. There aren't any in-and-out privileges, but you can walk everywhere or take public transit if you want. I would definitely stay here again. Lisätietoja

I need a room last min due to business and this place fit the bill. Very nice and the staff was excellent and friendly. More of a Euro style hotel but the room was nicely furnished. A great deal

The hotel is located in the heart of City Center, but the building is in need of major renovation! The single elevator is out-dated and difficult to operate. There was not heating control in individual rooms. The bathroom was horrible. The toilet "ran" consistently, and the sink was in the corner, but not approachable, given the layout! Just because it's in a great location doesn't mean you can cut corners on maintenance . Had to walk up 5 floors just to walk right back because the key did not work. The one elevator was broken. It was the worst shower ever, the handle on the shower's also broken, could not get the water stay at the same temperature, bursts of cold water, then bursts […] of extremely hot water. Never again. Older hotel tucked between storefronts. Small lobby with gas fireplace. Phone booth sized elevator. Extremely narrow halls and stairs, one person may pass at a time. Undergoing renovations. Did not try the included continental breakfast. 5th floor room was clean, very small, facing the street. Bathroom sanitary. Wireless internet. All night a zamboni […] thing was cleaning the multi-level parking garage across the street, plus street noise and conversations. The personnel were fine and helpful. The room was alright, but there didn't seem to be any way to control the temperature of the room. The bathroom was very ill configured with the towel rack hanging right in front of the mirror and toliet paper holder by the door instead of nearer the stool. Hotel staff at the main desk were very nice. The room was clean. The bathroom was TINY, with no towel rack. It would not be the first hotel I would recommend in Philadelphia, but it isn't awful.

The best features about this small hotel are the location and rate. The staff was helpful and available when needed. I read many complaints, but still decided to stay here... and it was the right decision.

People looked like they were Hiding out. No one looks you in the eye. Breakfast, bare bones. But, room clean and comfortable. We stayed because of medical reasons - having surgery in near by hospital. Location convenient to hospital and many good restaurants. I arrived early not expecting to get a room, but left my luggage. The 2 individuals with whom I interacted in this regard were uncommonly unpleasant over a routine discussion. Others were nicer. I would skip this place going forward.

Hotel was in a great location. Right on Walnut St, you are just blocks away from good food and venues. The bed was comfortable and the TV was nice. That's about the only positives I have with the room. My last night, I woke up to my bathroom floor being completely soaked. Water was dripping down through the air vent. The place needs some work. LOCATION: Hotel had a great location in the heart of the city. Nice views even on the ride in. The giant plus to the trip was the parking in the parking garage across the street for a fair price! We were finishing up a small trip which had included DC and NYC, and, this was by far the cleanest and most comfortable beds we had slept in. Another plus is an in-room safe, as much as I would like to think people are trust worthy, I always worry about my valuables when leaving for breakfast. OVERALL: Our stay would have been awesome if it weren't for the CRAZY, JACK-HAMMERING, BLACK TOP-SAWING, INSANELY AWFUL LOUD road construction that started at MIDNIGHT!!! It completely messed up our already exhausted sleep habits. And put a damper on the mornings tourism. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend anyone stay at this Hotel for at least a month if not two months! BUT only because of the construction. The Rodeway Inn is a cheap but clean hotel, with nice employees and a great location. Don't expect any perks (there aren't any). But it's cheap for the area and they have a waffle machine.

The woman at the desk was very helpful. The room was dark and there were holes in the walls. I was concerned about the orange extention cord that was plugged in near my headboard. The street noise was so bad that we got very little sleep and the halls were very noisy from time to time. At about 10pm a guy knocked on the door saying he was doing an emergency […] guest check- who knows what that was about. I only stayed here because all the other hotels were booked for the weekend. This hotel was affordable and in a great location. It's not a Hilton but we weren't there to stay in the hotel all weekend. It was a clean place to sleep and shower - worth the money in my opinion. Would stay there again.

The hotel did not have a gym, but no worries, the elevator didn't work, so you can have fun lugging your luggage up 6 floors or more amidst a stairwell that is almost as narrow as one person's shoulders. The hotel is going through major renovations and it needs them as the furniture is old and antiquated, pipes are exposed and the floors are creaky. […] When I entered my room, there were still pubic or other hairs left on the toilet. The light above the bed was glass and cracked! ALSO, PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE NO INDIVIDUAL CLIMATE CONTROLS FOR THE ROOMS. So, you are at the mercy at the tempature that they set the floor for. No fan to drown out the noise, and i was right next to the stairs, so everytime someone walked up or down them, I kept waking up. It is in a nice location and the staff was reasonably friendly, but overall I would never stay there again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you want to save money and don't care about the living conditions. Boyfriend and I stayed here the weekend hurricane Irene was supposed to blow the east coast away. The girl at the front desk was extremely rude when we were soaked from the rain. My boyfriend asked if they had a dryer and she replied very rudely "NOT FOR GUESTS." Why so rude? We loved the charm of the hotel. There are 7 floors, tiny elevator only goes […] to the 6th..... Great location and service was outstanding!

hotel and staff was nice, rooms clean. hotel is located in the gay quarter, which doesn't mean the hotel only has gay guests. we were very happy there, close to a beautiful shopping street and a nice pub. breakfast seems to be normal american: waffles, bagels, cereals, juice, coffee, tea. on plastic plates with plastic spoons and knifes. as a european […] we had to get used to that. not environmentally friendly at all!!! The hotel is extremely small so do not expect to have your room any minute before 3pm. Front desk not so helpful, actually some of the staff are a bit rude. That said, the rooms are nice, clean, and confortable. overall it is high quality rooms for the money you pay.

This hotel is not a 4-start hotel or anything but it is in a great location. It is an old building and needs updated. There is 1 old, small elevator. If I had to stay there again, I would because it is in a very convenient location. The room was not too bad and this was a good overnight stay.

My girlfriend and I recently took a vacation to Philadelphia. We stayed at the Rodeway Inn on 12th and Walnut St. The location couldn't be more directly in the middle of almost everything in Center City Philly. The service at the desk was prompt, to the point, and very helpful! The rooms were just what you need when staying in an extremely affordable […] hotel. The small motel is right in the middle of downtown Philly and very convenient for walking around the city.

Don't stay here, cramp rooms with dirty everything. I think they were in the process of replacing the carpet, but that's no reason to stop cleaning it. We booked a room for 3 people and they gave us one queen bed with blankets for my niece to sleep on the oversized window ledge, said there were no other rooms available, blah, blah, blah, but we saw […] a room cleaned and empty right next to ours. People are great, cheap over night parking. Old building with a tiny elevator that is in need of repair. Still nice.

This amusing little hotel is in a great location. It's walking distance to Independence Square, and there are several restaurants and bars with sidewalk tables within a block or two of the hotel. We sat st one in the evening enjoying a few brews while watching tourists, residents and commuters walk by. A lively, city neighborhood. Unfortunately, my […] floor was on the 7th floor and the tiny old elevator only goes up to the 6th. The elevator doors don't close automatically when it's on the lobby level so it's often impossible to call the elevator from an upper floor to go down. People get tired of waiting and walk down, but walking down 7 flights of very steep old stairs is tough on middle-aged knees! Then, when someone takes the next trip up on the elevator, it stops at every floor (where the people gave up waiting). The windows in my room had only sheer curtains, completely useless for the bright floodlights on the garage across the street . I hung a blanket on the curtain rod but the blanket was thin and didn't help much. All night long I kept waking up because I thought it was morning. There are only 2 hotel rooms on the top floor and they share a common thermostat outside in the hall. My friend in the other room preferred a warm room while I like mine cool, so we had to compromise with a temperature where neither was comfortable. The toilet is not properly secured to the floor and rocks about 1/4". Best of all, there is a 1" see-through hole in the door just below the door latch. When they installed nice new latch sets, they neglected to fill in the part of the old hole which wasn't covered by the new plate. Watch out ladies! Be sure to cover the hole with a washcloth or something. Both rooms on the top floor had this giant peephole and I wouldn't be surprised if rooms on other floors had the same. All of these problems could be easily fixed. Once they are corrected, this will be a terrific little hotel for a downtown visit at a reasonable price. Lisätietoja

It's a cute little hotel, a bit rickety for the wear, but the location is extremely convenient. It's in a nice area. The continental breakfast included isn't all that inspiring but it's included. I was there for business and definitely a Perfect location, comfortable enough, and above expectations. The staff is very nice and helpful. For the rate, if you are not looking for luxury but clean and casual accommodations, this place is very good. All rooms are not the same so ask for options if need be. Gloria from NYC

Very affordable hotel in the best part of town. Staff was very helpful. The building itself is old and so is the elevator, but everything worked and was just as advertised. Starbucks, pizza, underground metro, and several great Irish pubs all within a block's walk. Will definitely stay again!

Good value, but much variation in room layout and features. Would suggest asking to see a sampling of rooms if you're picky.

The people in charge were very nice. However, the place needs some sprucing up. The elevator is ancient and the lobby is a little shabby. However, the main thing is that the room was clean and the amenities were there ( nice TV, coffee, clean bathroom ).

The hotel is an older hotel that is clean. But our room's bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen. The design of the shower had a curtain that surrounded the shower area with the shower spraying into the shower curtain. There was no tub so the water got all over the floor. If you just want to stay in Philladelphia near to almost everthing within a reasonable walk-in distance(Restaurants, Fast food, pharmacies, Convention Center, Market, etc), then, Rodeway Inn might be the right place for you, however, you will compromise quality and comfort as this hotel needs some serious TLC. The elevator is from stone age, you have […] to take a crash course with the desk staff to understand how it works, we took the stairs quite often. The room size is reasonable and everything appeared to be clean. Breakfast is included and free slow wireless. The tiles on our bathroom floor were broken and loose, at that point we did not care, as we were on a tight budget.
