People are great, cheap over night parking. Old building with a tiny elevator that is in need of repair. Still nice.

This amusing little hotel is in a great location. It's walking distance to Independence Square, and there are several restaurants and bars with sidewalk tables within a block or two of the hotel. Unfortunately, my […] floor was on the 7th floor and the tiny old elevator only goes up to the 6th. The elevator doors don't close automatically when it's on the lobby level so it's often impossible to call the elevator from an upper floor to go down. People get tired of waiting and walk down, but walking down 7 flights of very steep old stairs is tough on middle-aged knees! Then, when someone takes the next trip up on the elevator, it stops at every floor (where the people gave up waiting). The windows in my room had only sheer curtains, completely useless for the bright floodlights on the garage across the street . I hung a blanket on the curtain rod but the blanket was thin and didn't help much. All night long I kept waking up because I thought it was morning. There are only 2 hotel rooms on the top floor and they share a common thermostat outside in the hall. My friend in the other room preferred a warm room while I like mine cool, so we had to compromise with a temperature where neither was comfortable. The toilet is not properly secured to the floor and rocks about 1/4". Best of all, there is a 1" see-through hole in the door just below the door latch. When they installed nice new latch sets, they neglected to fill in the part of the old hole which wasn't covered by the new plate. Watch out ladies! Be sure to cover the hole with a washcloth or something. Both rooms on the top floor had this giant peephole and I wouldn't be surprised if rooms on other floors had the same. All of these problems could be easily fixed. Once they are corrected, this will be a terrific little hotel for a downtown visit at a reasonable price. Lisätietoja

It's a cute little hotel, a bit rickety for the wear, but the location is extremely convenient. It's in a nice area. The continental breakfast included isn't all that inspiring but it's included. No complaints about the bathroom setup except there wasn't a towel rack. It was clean, even if not exactly designer. The sheets were clean. The room was […] odorless. And, I would stay here again. I was there for business and definitely a Perfect location, comfortable enough, and above expectations. The staff is very nice and helpful. For the rate, if you are not looking for luxury but clean and casual accommodations, this place is very good. All rooms are not the same so ask for options if need be. Gloria from NYC

Very affordable hotel in the best part of town. Staff was very helpful. The building itself is old and so is the elevator, but everything worked and was just as advertised. Starbucks, pizza, underground metro, and several great Irish pubs all within a block's walk. Will definitely stay again!

Good value, but much variation in room layout and features. Would suggest asking to see a sampling of rooms if you're picky.

The people in charge were very nice. However, the place needs some sprucing up. The elevator is ancient and the lobby is a little shabby. However, the main thing is that the room was clean and the amenities were there ( nice TV, coffee, clean bathroom ).

The hotel is an older hotel that is clean. But our room's bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen. The design of the shower had a curtain that surrounded the shower area with the shower spraying into the shower curtain. There was no tub so the water got all over the floor. If you just want to stay in Philladelphia near to almost everthing within a reasonable walk-in distance(Restaurants, Fast food, pharmacies, Convention Center, Market, etc), then, Rodeway Inn might be the right place for you, however, you will compromise quality and comfort as this hotel needs some serious TLC. The elevator is from stone age, you have […] to take a crash course with the desk staff to understand how it works, we took the stairs quite often. The room size is reasonable and everything appeared to be clean. Breakfast is included and free slow wireless. The tiles on our bathroom floor were broken and loose, at that point we did not care, as we were on a tight budget. I've stayed here twice in the last 4 years or so. The hotel does have some "eclectic" features like a tiny elevator, hallways, etc., but you can't beat the price for the location. I wouldn't go here on my honeymoon, but if you're looking for a great value and don't need to stay in a 5-star location you should be happy here. The staff was extremely friendly. The location is great. The size of the room itself was very good, and the bed was very comfortable. The TV was modern and had room for a desk and did not feel cramped. The size of the bathroom left a lot to be desired. Could not stand directly in front of sink and mirror. Size of a large closet. This property reminds me of a bad college apartment. Elevator of death, no services, wireless internet completely non-functional, broken tiles throughout the bathroom, mattress was terrible. Property is definitely not well maintained. Would recommend avoiding it at all costs. Seriously, pay a little more and stay at a real hotel.

Need room at last minute that was close enough to convention center, this was most affordable one in that radius. Check-in was fine, and staff was very friendly. The positives stop there, though. Was supposed to have free wi-fi, but signal was so weak, I couldn't access it (called staff about it, but that was their response as well).Thought toielt would back up as the flush hardly flushed anything. Next morning, literally ran out of hot water. Water actually STOPPED coming out of the shower. I stood there for 10 minutes covered in soap before I was able to get some hot water back. Breakfast was as continental as it gets - very bare bones. I decided to go across the street to the Starbucks instead. Great location but that's it. They put us on the top floor. Bed was too small, the windows were too small, the fridge didn't work, not enough light, and walls were very thin if you catch my drift. I would not recommend unless nothing else was available.

Elevators were hard to get to because cleaning staff kept them in their use. The door on the first floor didn't always completely close so at times one couldn't get the elevator. I am handicapped and my companion had to walk down to get the elevator so that I could ride it down. The room keys kept loosing their ability to open the door. Check-in was quick and hassle-free, the room was clean and comfortable. The hallways are narrow and the elevator is old and rickety but for the price in center city, this was a satisfactory stay.

I came to Philadelphia for an overnight to attend a conference, and after arriving in the cold, the first thing I wanted to do what take a hot shower. No such luck. I had to turn on the hot water only, all the way, and still only had lukewarm water that would periodically reduce to a trickle of cool water. Then, I tried to access the internet with my […] laptop (having been given a password by the front desk) and wasn't able to connect, I kept receive an error message saying another device was using my IP address. I needed the internet to find out how to use public transportation to get to my destination, and since I couldn't access it, I was very late to an event that I had purchased tickets for. The continental breakfast was also quite sad, consisting of only some cold cereal and yogurt. I would not stay here again. Lisätietoja

I have stayed here before so I know what to expect, the rooms are "acceptable", not superb or elegamnt but suitable for my tastes, all staff is friendly, I never feel I need anything but always feel they are available to me if I do need something, staff can also be informative if you need to find something like a map, or reccomending a restaraunt or […] bar, some rooms are smaller than others but the staff always tries to accomodate my needs when it comes to a room, the only thinkg I am "iffy" about is the elevator which is rather small & "coffin like", but once you get past that I am fine, I LOVE the neighborhood as many of the clubsm theatres & restaraunts are local or clearly nearby, this is one of the hearts of the city, a place to rest your feet watch some TV or play....I will be back.... The hotel was nice. The space was nice for two people to stay at. the area of the room was nice. The elevator was interesting but you have to read the directions to get off and get on the elevator on the first floor. the bed was comfortable and soft

Unfortunately the experience was all bad. Weren't allowed to check in until 3pm and it blew up from there. The elevator was made for munchkins along with the stair cases. The room. No control over the heat,electric outlets overloaded, bed side light broken and unusable, coffee maker died right away. The tv was another story.On a Saturday they were […] upgrading the system so ours was out all day. The cable company came to our room at 8:30 pm to repair ours. By 9pm we were in business and ready to go to bed. We were afraid to try the shower as that looks in horrible shape. Granted it was the night of the Marathon and it was difficult to get a room under three, but for the price I paid I expected at least a decent place to sleep. The Inn could have at least done some basic things to accommodate its guests. The water pressure was non-existent, the water that did trickle out never got warm. The tv cable was out, the lighting […] was poor, the bed was uncomfortable, their was no ac/heating unit so the room temp was uncomfortable, the windows were old allowing noise to fill the room, and the elevator was a scary ride to say the least. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Rodeway Inn. The only problem that I had was that there was no hot water from Wednesday into Thursday. Even though the technician came Thursday morning there was no change in the temperature of the hot water. It was still cold.

This hotel is in a very old building. That is not typically a negative point if things are well kept up. Unfortunately, the Rodeway Inn is not well kept up. Our room had dirty looking carpet, bedding, and bathroom fixtures in addition to cracks in the walls and floors complete with bugs crawling out of them. The shower was scary at best with its dirty/moldy […] curtain and flooring...yuck. The front doors apparently get locked after a certain time at night. When we returned to the hotel the front door was locked. The night front desk person was unbelievably rude about unlocking the door 10 feet from where she was sitting. She could very cleary see us attempting to get in the door and just sat and stared. Once we found the call speaker and tried to communicate with her she loudly and rudely asked us what we wanted, as if it wasn't obvious. She acted as if she was unable to hear what we were saying and was totally inappropriate in her responses, body language and tone. This part of the city is beautiful and its worth the extra 40 bucks to stay at a well respected place a few blocks away, which is what we will do in the future. Lisätietoja

This hotel had a very convenient parking garage directly across the street, and if you bring your parking ticket it's only $10.50 for 24-hours. The room was very clean and not too small. The only problem we had was when we arrived at 2am and tried to check in, there was nobody at the front desk. We called the phone number for the hotel only to have […] it ring mere inches from us and nobody answer it. After about 10 minutes someone finally came out from the back to check us in. However, in his defense, it was 2am and I doubt many people check in then. He was very helpful directing us to get some late-night food. The Rodeway Inn is not a fancy 4 star hotel. This is a hotel that will provide basic accommodations. The rooms aren't very big, but then again I don't need a whole lot of space. It's got a bed, T.V., microwave oven, refrigerator and in room safe and the bathroom has a jacuzzi. Everything I need for a comfortable stay and it's all clean and simple. Elevator out, AC not working, Bad attitude from staff

Only stay here as a last resort. Tiny hotel, with broken elevator. The shower was terrible no water pressure at all. After a long drive and 2 hours sleep all I needed was a nice shower to freshenup for my meeting and that was not the case.

Although this hotel is not very modern, its location and rates more than make up for the shortcomings of the architecture. Very convienent location if you're attending an event at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ, as I was. The two pubs within walking distance of the hotel are top-notch, with great food, service, atmosphere, and prices.

The only thing good about this hotel was location. It made Red Roof Inn look like a 5 star. Definately do not stay here unless you have a need to inspect sheets and were shoes every moment. We spent just one night in Philly and this hotel was in a great location. The big historical landmarks were about a 15 minute walk (only 6 blocks) from the hotel. City Hall and the LOVE statue are nearby as well. The Gallery has several restaurants and a lot of shopping only a few blocks away. The subway is a few blocks away as well. No one should stay here thinking it's a four-star hotel. But for the money, it's reasonable.

The staff was rude, the elevator was out and the only room available was 6 floors up. The bathroom was TINY and musty. The "breakfast" if you can even call it that was Raisin Bran and Toast. Do not book a room here, you will not be pleased.

We reserved our stay 4 months in advance and when we arrived there was only a room open on the 6th floor, which would have been fine but the elevators were broke down. so we had to go up and down 6 flights of stairs to get to the only vending machine which is located on the 1st floor. Room was clean and, whilst not lavish, perfectly adequate for a business trip. Excellent location, close to both historic centre and bars, restaurants and theatres.
