"middle of downtown is very convenient"
The room was very clean. Air conditioning was great. We were comfortable in the room. Middle of downtown, a nice in-room restaurant delivery. We had quick cab connection service by the valet. The only thing missing were ice container on every level and no fridge on our room. A high class place like this should have a fridge and microwave included.

"Sprint Center"
This hotel is in a great location for the Sprint Center. The cost is a prohibitive factor but if you watch, you can nab a great deal. No food amenities but close to a ton of good options.

"Friendly staff and great room"
Everything about our Stay at the Phillips Hotel was excellent. The staff greeted us with a smile when we got there and made sure our stay was as pleasant as possible. The room was great, with a fantastic view of the city. It was close to the Sprint Center where we attended a concert and the Power and Light District for some night life.
Love the hotel. Hated the fact that people were rude at 2 a.m. on floor 14. A bunch of young women. Yelling, staying in the halls. Rooms close together.
"Book only if you need a hotel downtown"
It's a nice older hotel. The staff was very friendly. Did have a problem with the TV cutting out. Called about it and the maintenence person just came up to say he reset the connection but it kept happening. It was the first night of a 3 night stay. He said it was just that TV and didn't offer to do anything more than have us call everytime it happened […] to reset it. Other than that the stay was fine. "Convienent to the Beth Moore conference"
It is a very beautiful hotel and we enjoyed the wine and cheese tasting that we had upon arrival.

Great location! Beautiful hotel! Cleaning service was awesome! The wine and cheese hour was a bonus!! Will definitely recommend to others! Oh and the room was very spacious - just a little problem with the a/c.

"Had a nice stay"
Friendly and helpful service. Room was comfortable. Only thing that was a dissapointment was not knowing there was a Valet fee of $18.00 a day during the stay until we got there.

"Hotel Phillips, sexy/clean but just shy of perfect"
We loved our stay here, the lobby is great, the valet parking is well priced and staffed, the room is clean, new & fresh but there are some issues. When we got there our tv remote was dead, no big right. I ask for batteries and am told well we cant give batteries but we can replace your controller. 1 hour later and 4 controllers later its fixed. Again […] not a big problem but far from ideal. The bed mattress was rather warn and the springs were not overall soft but firm on the edges and very soft in the middle so its been used a bit (this is still better then many sexy hotels which are switching to foam mattresses). The worst problem was there seemed to be a governor on the thermostat to lock the temp at 71 degrees which isn't bad but higher then we wanted and for this price it needs to be a bit cooler. "very loud"
Only one issue. It was very loud, I woke three times in the night 12:30, 3:15, and 4:30 because of activty in the hallway and their was also doors banging closed all night both nights of my stay.
The hotel Phillips in K.C., classic old hotel in the downtown area, great service, nice rooms, no parking. look forward to going back.

We were very excited about staying at the Phillips, but the room was very small and very tired. Couldn't fit in the bathroom without closing the door. Valet and front desk were very courteous, but the waitress in the bar/restaurant was rude and the service was terrible. "There was no hot water, but the room was small."
For the past several years, my husband and I have stayed at Hotel Phillips when attending events in downtown Kansas City. Hotel Phillips is a quaint, intimate, classy hotel that is within walking distance of many entertainment facilities. We have always enjoyed our stay at Hotel Phillips until recently. This is the first time we were assigned to a room […] that was dinky - I never knew Hotel Phillips had rooms that were as small as the room we stayed in. The room was tight, and the bed for both of us was no larger than a full size mattress. During our past stays, we were always given a room with either one king sized bed or two full sized beds which we didn't mind. It was a sign that I should have requested to be moved to a different room before unpacking our bags. We didn't, and regret it. It gets worse. Every morning we had no hot water - not even lukewarm. We would complain and the hotel supervisor and she said she would have their engineers look into it. This became our morning routine. We had two mornings where we didn't shower, and two mornings where we took showers that lasted no more than a minute. Ironically, there was only one time we had hot water. The last night of our stay we could only get hot water from the faucet of the bathroom sink - we could not get any cold water to brush our teeth before going to bed. In the beginning, the hotel supervisor said she would move us to a different room, but it never happened. Instead she offered to reimburse us for our last night stay. Again, this was our first time to have had a bad experience at Hotel Phillips. We would stay there in the future, however, there would need to be an agreement of our expectations with the hotel management prior to checking in. Lisätietoja

We stayed overnight Friday on a drive from Ohio to Colorado. Knowing nothing about Kansas City, we picked something downtown figuring we'd get a flavor of the city. The Hotel Phillips was gorgeous, the room was huge -- it seemed like two rooms that had been combined. Comfortable bed, plentiful dressing area with a sofa, and a large bathroom. The style […] was a modern take on the period of the building's original construction. The Power and Light District was just around the corner, as was a large gourmet grocery store. We took a drive for some BBQ -- nothing in that genre worth the visit downtown apparently. The valet parking was a tad expensive but they were responsive in fetching the car, and I suspect the cost was competitive for the area. Room needed maintenance. Bathroom door didn't want to shut correctly. Thermostat didn't work properly either. Temperature in room was either really hot or really cold. Hotel needed updating. No vending machines on our floor; I had to go up to floors to find a pop machine and when I did it was in a small closet. "Hotel Phillips in Kansas City - modern and elegant"
This hotel is well located for downtown business, has great service - very friendly and knowledgable staff. It is old-world elegant with all the modern conveniences. The complimentary wine and cheese at 5:00 pm was a nice welcome and the gym was small but adequate. I would definitely stay here again!

"Hotel Phillips - A Beautifully Restored Hotel"
Hotel Phillips is a beautifully restored art deco hotel in a prime location of downtown Kansas City. Our room was unique, nicely decorated, and impeccably clean. The king bed was VERY comfortable. The hotel common areas are beautiful. A car was not needed. We self-parked in very nearby lot ($15/day) and valet parking is also made available by the hotel. […] We had a very good dinner in the hotel restaurant (12th at Baltimore), walked to the Music Hall for the Riverdance show (which was also an excellent choice), and thoroughly enjoyed the live jazz entertainment provided from 8-11 p.m. on the hotel mezzanine after returning from the show. If you are interested in a late dinner the restaurant is open until 1:00 a.m. (at least on weekends) and a breakfast buffet is available (again - at least on weekends). This was our first visit to Hotel Phillips and we hope to return. We booked the hotel after reading reviews and found the accommodations even better than we had hoped or expected. Lisätietoja

"Hotel Phillips"
The staff was nice and they seemed clean except for the spot of urine that was on the toilet seat when I arrived. Being in the downtown area was ok. If you hate a soft bed don't stay there. I didn't sleep well in the super soft bed but other than that it was good.

I've stayed here several times, and had excellent accommodations each time. A conscientious cleaning staff, and friendly but not overbearing front desk staff. Check it out!

This hotel is in a nice vicinity to the Power nd Light District and other downtown amenities. The hotel itself has a nicely restored interior and unique rooms. It also has a nice restaurant/bar attached, making this a very convenient hotel. I would recommend it to others.

This was our first stay at Hotel Phillips and it was a great experience. The staff was friendly and helpfull as the room was large, well prepared and comfortable. We shall be be back!

Love everything about this hotel. Great location - walking distance to all of the downtown entertainment. Would definitely stay here again. The only thing (wouldn't even call it a negative) is that the beds are a bit small. Other than that, no complaints :)
