The location of Shinagawa Prince Hotel is very good, next to the station. We were living on 36th floor - view was excellent. The bar on the top is very good as well. Rooms are small, but it is understanable in Tokyo.

We love staying at the Shinagawa prince. We joined the prince club (free membership) and with the card you are able to check in earlier than the general public and also opt for a late check out. When I stayed here back in October 2012 we were able to check out at 6pm, which was wonderful traveling with a 3 year old as our flight was not until 1130pm. […] We opted for the "green cleaning" where we got 500 yen for each night they did not need to come clean the room. We used those coupons towards eating at Hapuna for breakfast. There is about 20-30 different restaurants within a one block radius, including tons of places to pick up to go food at Shinagawa station which is literally across the street. This is my 5th stay in 24 months at this hotel. Though it's only rated 3 stars, compare this 3000-room hotel with others in Europe, where 3-stars means a basic level of comfort with barely anything else. This huge complex of 4 separate towers offers differing levels of comfort catering to different budgets. It has a cinema, bowling alley, a swimming […] pool, an oceanarium and several restaurants within its premises. On the perimeter of this complex are several smaller restaurants, a McDonald's, a 7-Eleven, and small boutiques. The room for 2 may be small when you have to contend with 2 suitcases and 2 carry-ons but who's complaining when you are up early and out of the room by 8.00am everyday and don't get back till almost 11.00pm each night. The Shinagawa Prince fulfills my most basic needs and is accommodating of small requests such as extra pillows and hangars. The beds are comfortable, the bath is clean, and the public areas are well maintained. As it also caters to many tour groups from all over the world, be prepared for long queues for breakfast at Hakuna and at check-in especially at peak times. The efficiency is excellent in spite of the challenges. For what I paid per night for a room in this hotel, I have to pay 3 times that amount for a similar class of hotel in Europe. I would recommend this hotel for its value for money. I'll definitely book the Shinagawa Prince again on my next trip to Tokyo Lisätietoja

Out of the six hotels we stayed at in Japan, this was the most dated. The room was larger than the typical hotel, but I liked this hotel the least due to it's age. We travel to Tokyo frequently and this hotel is the perfect location for what must be the best public train system in the World. Room was pretty spacious for Japanese hotels but bathroom was quite small.

A solid three star, a very small room (well, this IS Tokyo) but efficient and has everything you need, including continuous hot water for tea and coffee on every floor. Very well kept and clean. The hotel dining was on the expensive side, but nearby are many and varied restaurants, fast food and even gourmet selections. The location could not be beat, […] it's extremely convenient, right across the street from Shinagawa station , where you have access to all of Tokyo plus other cities in Japan. If I had one complaint, it's the large and noisy tour groups continually checking in. All in all, though, it was a great place to stay and a reasonable price. Located next to Shinagawa Station which is on the Shinkansen and the Yamanote Loop. Able to get to many major sports from there and the station is not too big as to be overwhelming.

Very central position to explore Tokyo. Great for transport being so close to the train station. Great amenities in the hotel, loads of places to eat, convenience stores and even chemists for all your needs. We had a great time and will definitely be back to explore more of Tokyo!

Convenient place to stay. There is a convenience store nearby where one can buy snacks and juices. The train stop and supermarket is a five minute walk away.

This is a typical mid-range hotel in Japan--with great location w/ easy access to the airports and impressive service. The bldg. is a bit dated, but it has been renovated and it is impeccably maintained; the cleaning crew does a very nice job! Although the restaurants […] in the hotel are quite pricey, there is a food court within the complex, there is a Sukiya restaurant a block away, and there are some "famiresu" restaurants around, as well (Google it if you don't know what they are)--where you can have good food at an unbelievably reasonable price. This was my 4th stay here in less than 2 years and I have no complaints. It is very conveniently located right across the street from the Shinagawa station. Taking the Narita Express from the airport, I arrived at this station in under 70 minutes and was comfortably settled in my hotel room about 15 minutes later. Though this station is not on the underground […] Metro network, the JR-Yamanote (circular route) line connects all the major districts that I usually visit: Ueno, Akihabara (for all the tech geeks), Yurakucho (for the Ginza shopping district), Shinjuku, Harajuku and Shibuya. The hotel is also surrounded by a couple of shopping malls with many affordable cafes and restaurants. There is also a 7-11 virtually on its front door. The rooms are typical Japanese tiny and the beds are hard as a rock. To stay here I have to travel with a piece of foam to make it comfortable. A tatami mat and futon would be softer. But I stay here because the price is good and the hotel is conveniently located just across the street from Shinagawa Station.

Regular rooms are small. Stayed at Annex building last time, they were a little bigger. This time we are at main building, rooms are more updated for sure, but very small. If you have large suitcases, will not work well. We had 2 roller boards, which fit well. The hotel is in a great location for Shinagawa Train Station. Rooms are comfortable and clean but getting old. Staff and service are good. Breakfast is expensive.

The hotel is too big for my taste. It feels like a resort with so many people around, shopping center, and aquarium attached. The rooms are nice and the view is great. I wish the bathroom matched the room decor with a more modern facility. Overall I think it is ok if you get a good deal but otherwise I would stay somewhere else.

Very very very convenient location. Just opposite street is the JR/Metro station. But still quiet in the hotel.10 minutes only to Haneda Airport and Shinagawa Station is on Yamanote Line, within 20min to Shinjuku, Harajuku or Ueno, which is surely a nice easy location with less crowded people area. Excellent location-directly across the street from Shinagawa Train Station, one of the main train stations in Tokyo. There is shopping (even a Seven Eleven) and many restaurant locations within the block-all varieties of food including McDonald's and even TGI Friday's. I've stayed 9 nights at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel, and I would definitely stay there again. It is located next to the Shinagawa Station, where you can take trains to almost anywhere in Japan with easy connections. It is close to the Haneda airport too. Transportation to/from Narita airport is easy through Narita Express train.

Very Nice hotel. Great bathroom. Helpful having a food court and lots of shopping just below the hotel. Double rooms were small but clean.

Checked in from 7th Jan-13th Jan at Main building. We arrived at the hotel at 6am thus decided to check in early knowing there will be a early check in charges. Talked to a male staff to know the price is 15,000 yen(which is almost 2x the price for 1 night's fee that we booked online) which we feel ridiculous and changed our mind. 1 hour later we came […] back again and approached another staff who told us the fee is 5,000 yen only. So i presume 10,000 yen is deducted after a hour :P Plus point: Overall experience is still considered pleasant. Water is being prepared in thermal flask daily after housekeeping and the scenery from 34th storey is nice. Bad point: Bathtub have to change though.Stepping on it always giving a cracking sound which I thought i am too heavy and broke it... It would be nice to give us control on the air con as we are feeling stuffy in the room and the temp is unable to be controlled on our side. Lisätietoja

Stopped here for a transfer between Narita and Haneda, it,s remarkably handy for Shinagawa station and our room on the 28th floor had a grand view of Fugi-san. Not bad at all and remarkably quiet rooms for a hotel of it's size.
