Yövyin Podissa kahteen otteeseen, ensin viisi yötä omalla kylpyhuoneella varustetussa huoneessa ja myöhemmin neljä yötä jaetulla kylpyhuoneella. Jaetut pesutilat ovat todella siistit, lähes aina vapaat ja niissä kuuluva musiikki tuo yksityisyyttä, eli säästöä havittelevalle single shared on tosi toimiva ratkaisu. Oman kylpyhuoneen helppous on tietysti plussaa, joten kyllä siihen toisaalta kannattaa panostaa. Huoneet ovat tosi pieniä, mutta niissä on kaikki tarvittava. Huonekalujen ja tekstiilien kunto on erittäin hyvä, uuden oloinen, ja huoneet siivotaan huolellisesti joka päivä. Hotellin asiakaskunta oli kaikenikäistä, fiksua ja hyvin asiallista. Hotellin sijainti on mahtava. Kulman takana on ruokakauppa sekä lukuisia ravintoloita ja hyviä pubeja. Myös pikaruokapaikkoja on lähellä jos äkkinälkä yllättää. Hotellin omassa baarissa en ruokaillut, kun muu tarjonta naapurustossa oli niin hyvä. Keskuspuistoon ja Times Squarelle kävelee vaivatta, ja samoin ostoksille Lexingtonille ja 5th Avenuelle. 6- linjan metropysäkki on ihan lähellä, ja sillä pääsee helposti alemmas Manhattania. Lentokentältä pääsee myös edullisesti ja vaivatta ihan hotellin lähelle, 53rd St & Lexingtonin asemalle (ensin Airtrain Jamaica stationille ja sieltä E-linja tuolle pysäkille). Kokonaisuudessaan aivan loistava hotelli hinta-laatusuhteeltaan, ja tulen varmasti yöpymään Podissa toistekin.

Huippusijainti. Sopii suomalaisen kukkarolle. Helppo tulla JFK kentällä. Kaksi hyvää aamiaispaikkaa vieressä. Huone iso ja ihan siisti vaihka talo onkin 100 vuoden takaa (niinkuin iso osa)

Suhteellisen hyvässä kunnossa oleva hotelli, erittäin hyvällä paikalla. Alle 10 minuutin kävelymatka Times Squarelle. Hinta oli erittäin hyvä sijaintiin nähden. Palvelu oli erittäin mukavaa ja teki olon kodikkaaksi. Hotellihuoneiden ovet ovat vähän heppoisen oloisia, eli normaali puheääni kuuluu selkeästi käytävästä / käytävään. Tämä ei tosin häirinyt kovin pahasti, koska kyseinen kerros oli varsin rauhallinen. Check in ja check out sujuivat mutkattomasti. Hotellissa on portieeri, joka hoitaa ovien avaamiset, taksitilaukset ja matkalaukut. Menen uudestaankin Wellingtoniin!

Kaupungin New York sydämessä sijaitseva The Edison Hotel on kävelymatkan päässä kohteista Minskoff Theater, Broadway ja Times Square. Lähistöllä ovat myös Rockefeller Center ja Radio City Music Hall.
Hotellin palvelut.

Olimme varanneet juniorisviittihuoneen Hotelli Edisonista Manhattanilla. Matkaoppaita lukiessa oli tullut mielikuva, että New Yorkin hotellihuoneet ovat pieniä luukkuja, ja siksi valitsimme hieman suuremman huoneen, koska ajattelimme,että edes matkalaukut mahtuvat johonkin nurkkaan. Huone oli suuri positiivinen yllätys! Huoneessa oli todella tilaa: […] parivuoteen lisäksi levitettävä sohva, sohvapöytä, kirjoituspöytä, nojatuoli ja pikkupöytiä ja kaiken lisäksi suuri vaatehuone. Toki tarkka syyni paljasti kankaiden kulumista, mutta ei tahtia haitannut. Valoisia ikkunoita oli paljon ja meillä oli jopa näköala Times Squaren valomainoksia ihailemaan 18. kerroksesta. Tämä siis kertoo hotellin upeasta sijainnista, kaiken menon keskellä. Huone pidettiin moitteettomassa siivossa päivittäin ja ilmastointi pelasi (tosin melko äänekkäästi). Jäitä sai noutaa ilmaiseksi jääkoneesta ja käytössä oli toimistohuone, jossa useita nettipäätteitä kätevästi luottokortilla käytettävissä. Kuntosalikin olisi ollut, mutta sinne ei keritty. Good price for the location, right next to Duffy / Times Square. Two different subway stops just 1-2 blocks away. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Room was quiet and tidy, but a bit on the smaller side. No bed bugs. Bathroom was clean. Hotel breakfast was not that good, small portions and slow and unfriendly service. Better to go to some nearby restaurant, […] for example Junior's on the W45th or Starbucks (multiple locations nearby). Room didn't have any spare electric outlets so we had to remove either the other desk lamp or the radiator / air conditioning device to charge camera batteries etc. Hotel service was good, we got extra blanket and pillows when we asked for those in the reception. Safety deposit boxes and luggage storage were available in the lobby. There were also separate desks for ordering transportation and theater tickets. There was also a small gift shop inside the hotel. In conclusion: If you're looking for an affordable, basic room to sleep in with good location and don't mind the small room, this is for you. Shuttle oli oiva matkustuskeino hotellin ja lentokentän välillä, toimi sightseeing kierroksena, mutta matkan kestoksi John.F. Kennedyn lentokentältä midtowniin tuli kaksi tuntia. Matkan kesto kannattaa huomioida varsinkin lähdettäessä, jotta lentokentälle jää tarpeeksi aikaa.

Hotelli oli hyvin keskeisellä paikalla, vain kivenheiton päässä Time Squarelta ja kävellen pääsi Empire State buildingille, Madame Toussaudin vahakabinettiin, Rockefeller Centeriin ja vaatekauppoihin. Kulkuyhteydet yleisillä olivat JFK:n kentälle toimivat, mutta Newarkin kentälle hankalammat. Huone oli tarpeeksi iso kolmelle. Vaatteille ja tavaroille […] oli tarpeeksi laatikoita ja komero. Huone oli siisti ja siivous toimi hyvin. Liikenteen melu kantautui todella voimakkaasti 22:seen kerrokseen. Lähellä paljon ruokapaikkoja ja take away-paikkoja. Sijainti on erinomainen ja palvelu ystävällistä. Hinta on edullinen mutta ainakin meille käynti oli viimeinen. Huoneet ovat huonossa kunnossa ja siisteystaso jäi mietityttämään. Ei ainakaan sovi lapsiperheille....

We booked this hotel as a last minute deal and we got a great price. The building itself is old and the room needed some maintenance, but the location is fantastic! Only half a block from Times Square and 2 blocks away from Broadway. The neighborhood is quite busy and noisy, we stayed on the 11th floor and could hear all the noise from the street, but […] it is to be expected if you are staying so close to Time Square! Great location and very helpful doormen and security staff. Unfortunately for me I suffered an accident towards the end of my stay which necessitated a wheelchair.I am surprised that the hotel does not keep one on the premises for just such an eventuality. My second point is that the room is only equipped with flimsy cardboard beakers.It proved impossible […] to get a "glass" glass. Ridiculous. Thirdly most hotels these days provide free wifi access.Not this one. Finally the power point by the basin in the bathroom was coming off the wall and the tap needed a new washer to stop its constant dripping. I've stayed here twice and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Perfect location if you want to stay in Times Square. The price was low, so I should overlook the following drawbacks-- the hotel is old, and the finishes look like they'll need renovation in 2 or 3 years. Room was a tad small. No coffee except in coffee shop near lobby, which […] was a typical mediocre NYC diner (B rating from Health dept) Shower was warm (not hot) at 5 am; controls were touchy so I got frigid water sometimes. 2pm shower was great! [On a side note, I dropped my credit card in the lobby, but the shuttle van coordinator found it and called me right away..THAT could have been a nightmare, if not for the honesty of that employee.] I'd stay there again for sure, especially on a limited budget! The rooms are old and worn, but who stays in the room? Nicely priced and so very convenient.
"Perfect location, excellent price"
We loved our stay and were surprised that the hotel was so nice for the low price. The staff, however, was not really warm and fuzzy. I don't think I saw a smile from any one of them. Typically, I find New Yorkers are very friendly. Maybe these guys were just having a bad day. Oh well, it didn't ruin our stay by any stretch.

The Edison is very nice, clean, and convenient. However, around 9am during my stay I began to hear metallic banging noises on the floor above me. Despite 2 calls to the front desk, these noises continued off and on for over 2 hours! If they have to do construction, they shouldn't do it in the morning and just above where people are staying.
Older hotel but nice atmosphere in lobby and restaurants. Has a great deli connected to hotel and meals are very reasonable and are delicious comfort foods on menu. "Great location - Shabby accomodations"
There is no denying the location of this hotel was GREAT, right on Times Square and in the heart of the action BUT we were very disappointed in the accommodations. The Hotel website made everything look modern and fairly upmarket but we while we found the lobby and entrance area to be clean and smart, the accommodation - room, bathroom, corridors and […] elevators, were all very dated and very shinny. The walls were scuffed and dirty with wallpaper ripped in places. The room was small and cramped with a very dated bathroom. The drain wasn't quick enough for the shower and water built up in the tub quickly - this was after we replaced the faucet surround which fell off the first time we used it!! Hot water was hit and miss - the first night I filled the tub with piping hot water, after that, showers in the morning were luke warm :( The toiletries provided were definitely the cheapest they could find and the two shampoo bottles had been opened and were half empty! Noisy neighbors - obviously not the hotels fault but boy they were partying it up two nights in a row!! We enjoyed our weekend in NYC mostly because we were out of the Hotel for most of the time! As a novice to the "city" I wasn't sure what to expect, we were very happy with our stay. Ourstanding location, walk to everywhere, comfortable room, very clean... Only blocks from Theaters, and great restaurants. In Times Square.... really.

"Hotel Edison in Times Square"
This is a small older hotel with functional rooms. I like that it is a smaller hotel, as I don't have to spend time "finding" my room like I would at a larger "name" hotel. The staff is friendly and efficient. The rooms are not palatial, but they fill the need, a place to sleep and clean up. I was in NYC for a business meeting. The Edison was a value […] approximately 1.5 miles from a client's offices. I had no trouble with either subway or cabs getting to my meeting place. "EDISON HOTEL NEW YORK"
The location is an out standing . right on Time square . the rooms need a huge renovation. also and especially the shower.low water presure and most likely broken tube.
"Great location, but so-so hotel"
The hotel is in a fantastic location - almost right in the middle of Times Square - which is why I gave it a 3 overall and would recommend it. However, we had to change rooms TWICE upon check in because the first room had a window that was broken and wide open with heat pouring out of the radiator and no way to control it. The second room had NO ELECTRICITY. […] The third room was fine - old fixtures, etc. but clean and comfortable. Until 5pm the second day of our stay when we were trying to get ready for our evening out and there was no hot water! Apparently, the water had been off for a few hours an the only place they had put a notice was at the front desk. Great if you were just checking in, but useless if you were already a guest and headed straight to the elevators. The water didn't come back on until 6pm and we needed to be somewhere by 6:30. Needless to say, I wasn't thrilled. The Cafe Edison downstairs has yummy food - but it is definitely overpriced. Overall, a decent hotel for what we paid for it but definitely could use improvement. "Good Value One Block from Times Square!"
This hotel is old, but has been somewhat renovated. If you are looking for a newer, completely updated hotel, don't book this one. But if you are fine with a clean, comfortable and partly (our bathroom) renovated hotel, for a great price, then go for it!

My wife left her cellphone in the room when we checked out. But when we went back a few hours later, nobody found the phone. It is gone...

This is an old hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised. Large room by NYC standards. Queen bed was comfortable. Bathroom was large. Easily able to fit pack and play play pen for baby to sleep. Close to broadway, times square. Easy access to subway. Very comfortable for the price.

Great location but poor shape of rooms. Could be a beautiful hotel, but has not had the needed upkeep. The bathroom was difficult to get into due to opening the door to go in and it blocked the sink AND the only electrical outlet you could use in the entire room. The bed was an old full size, not queen, with springs and a very thing covering of padding […] over them. There was no thermostat control on the heater and had to keep all the windows open to be comfortable. If you want to be in the theater district for a great Hotels price, it would be sufficient, but not recommended at all. In US standards, this would be a 2 star hotel and a 3 star hotel in Europe. "Very Uncomfortable"
I was under circumstances where I couldn't bee too picky about the hotel I stayed in. The Edison Hotel environment is very professional. They have laundry service and security that made sure you didn't get on the elevators without a room key. Other than that, I thought the room was very uncomfortable. I've never in my life stayed in a hotel where the […] bed was so hard and uncomfortable that I would rather sleep on the floor. There was also no coffee pot in the bedroom. I didn't do too much searching, but I didn't see one in the lobby either. The television had mostly news channels and only a few entertainmet channels (TLC, TBS...). Small room Staff wicked nice Felt charging .50$ for storing 1 bag was a joke and I had a plastic bag over my luggage and the charged me $1.50 So I only gave a .50 tip Breakfast and coffee was very good Shower water was freezing after 10am or to hot before that Staff very very helpful and nice

It was at a great price and location. Times Square is just around the corner. They have a restaurant downstairs that is affordable and good. Plenty of shopping and restaurants around. This hotel is in the PERFECT location - literally right in TImes Square. Our room was a little tired (outdated decor, worn carpets), but we got a great price on the Hotels.com website and it was worth it. Our room did not have a fridge, but with so many restaurants a few steps away it wasn't that important. The cafe/diner in the hotel was excellent […] for breakfast and there is 24 hr security personnel(who were very friendly/helpful). Wi-Fi costs extra which was a bit of a surprise. Overall this was a great option and we would stay here again if we got a similar deal. It is so close to many iconic NYC places, and right near transportation to the rest of the city. We chose the Edison because of its great location, right off Time Square, and because we got a good deal on the room. We were very surprised to find the room newly modeled with lots of space and a modern, clean bathroom. Our room had two queen beds and overlooked the front entrance.
