Olin nyt kolmatta kertaa samassa hotellissa. Paria seikkaa lukuun ottamatta olin erittäin tyytyväinen. Suurin harmi oli se, että bide-suihkua ei ollut, ja se suihkujärjestelmä, joka oli, toimi alkeellisesti. Säätö ei toiminut, vaan vettä tippui jokaisesta kolmesta kohdasta, vaikka miten olisi säätänyt. Veden tulo alkoi aina kylmällä vedellä, ja sitä siis tuli joka tuutista. No, kyllä tilanteen kanssa oppi pärjäämään. Toinen harmi oli se, että vaimoni yöpyku katosi liinavaatteiden mukana, ja takaisin sitä ei saatu.

Hotelli on kohtuullisen hintainen. Sijainti aivan metroaseman vieressä, josta pääsee manhattanille melko nopeasti. Aamiainen on ihan okei, tosin tilat on aika pienet, joten oli melko ruuhkaista välillä. Huoneet on todella siistit.

"Pictures are deceiving."
Awesome location to Times Square and Broadway. However, was not expecting The Edison to be so run down. Baseboards cracked and dirty, bedspreads gross, bathrooms tiny with a sliver of soap, tub was stained, plug fell out of outlet so I used a bandaid to hold it in place.

"Horrifying."
Difficult to describe. Decrepit throughout. Arrived at midnight and were told there is no running water until 5 am. Took one look at the room and suffocating bathroom and left. Really shocking.

The longest check-in I had in years --only 2 people on line and lost reservation, or computer down or card creator down. "So close, but yet so far!"
The Hotel Edison is so close and convenient to everything I wanted to see in New York. Yet it is so far from being in the 21st century! This place needs a complete "gut job" in terms of remodeling and customer service. I can't begin to describe how disappointed I was in my room, its furnishings, the size of the bathroom, etc. etc. Don't get me started […] on the horrible food and attitude of the waiters in the coffee shop. "Close to everything!"
Pleasantly surprised by how close the hotel was to Times Square and surrounding attractions. Room was very noisy because of construction across the street which made us not sleep much at all.

"Midline, but LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION"
Booked a suite to sleep 3...and while not cheap, by comparison to surrounding properties was a deal. Hotel clean and nice but rooms are dated as heck, as if stepping into the 70's or 80's.. But is in the middle of it all, and can not be beat in that. Companion I was with is Bed Bug neurotic and did a complete check of the room, and all was clean. Bathroom […] small. "Hotel Edison"
The two of us walked up from the bus station and took in the sights along the way, marveling at the afternoon confusion and crowds of Times Square and found the Hotel Edison just a few steps from the center of entertainment. Flashing lights, huge lighted signs, cabs, buses, thousands of people looking up, pointing, hustle, bustle and just like a scene […] from a movie- a total cacophony of urban life at the heart of the City that Never Sleeps. Entering the 47th Street lobby was a cool whisper of quiet and like stepping back 70 years with doormen, bell clerks, international clocks and attentive reception clerks. The marble floors and walls, the lamps, the murals...everything is just breathtaking exciting and the epitome of Art Deco. There are restaurants, bars and delis as well as concierge, travel coordinators and a small convenience store right in the hotel. Check-in was smooth and quick. We went upstairs and found a smallish room on the back side but clean and bright with two windows. Plenty of room for a couple- as long as you like each other! It was a quiet and restful during a whirlwind tour of Mid-town NYC. Subways stops, restaurants, delis, stores are close by and its walking distance to Central Park and world famous museums.' The hotel is literally dozens of steps from several theaters and a half block from the heart of Times Square, this is an wonderful place to stay to be super close to the action. Sights from movies and shows are all around, Radio City Music Halls, Rockefeller Center- everywhere you look it feels like you've been there on film. It should be noted that water straight from the bathroom faucet tastes as good as any I have ever tasted. The only complaints were not having a stopper for the bathtub and no ventilation fan in the bathroom. A coffee pot would have been nice. This hotel is locate right in Time Square. Great price, great service, and great condition. Couldn't ask for a better hotel to stay in NYC for a couple of nights with my friends.
The room was very small. I booked a King Superior. The mattress was hard as a rock, no safe or refrigerator. The bathroom was even smaller. Very outdated. Location was great but I would never stay there again.

Can't beat the location!! It is an older hotel and the rooms are in need of updating, but were totally adequate. One rude waiter in the Sophia restaurant almost ruined our night, indifferent attendants at check-in and most importantly - NO COFFEE maker in the room or available in the lobby. "Great location"
The hotel is in the center of everything. The staff was very helpful and gave us great tips for things to see and how to get around the city. The only think I have to complain about is the jack hammer that went on from 11 pm until the following day at 10 am just outside our window. We had a very nice stay at this hotel. It's very convenient to Times Square and the theaters as well as some excellent restaurants. The hotel, while older, was quite comfortable and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The only complaint we had was that it was not very sound-proof. "Great location!"
Our room was nice, not big but I've stayed in smaller.. The bathroom was tiny but fine. The beds were comfy and everything worked including a nice wide screen tv. I loved having a doorman to get us a cab. The attached cafe for breakfast was nice. However, we couldn't get the room to cool down. We tried opening the window and turning on the air conditioner […] but it continued to be too hot to sleep. We should have called maintenance but we didn't...we just suffered. Hotel Edison is newly remodeled art-deco hotel which is literally a few feet from Times Square. Service is excellent and management is very attentive and accommodating if problems are reported.

We really enjoyed our stay - walked everywhere from this perfect location. If you want a quick snack - Danny's next door is open 24/7 and had a buffet. Great restaurants 2 blocks away - Times Square within feet! I found it to be quiet (22nd Floor). Had a few room issues that were dealt with right away. The best thing about the Edison is the location - right down the block from the TKTS booth in Times Square. The bad thing is that you have to pass the W hotel to remind you that you're staying in a dated hotel. The room was quiet which I appreciated - the bed was OK in terms of comfort. My adult daughter and I recently spent two nights at the Edison. We were quite happy with the cleanliness, noise level, service, etc. One negative, which could be significant to people who aren't very mobile - the shower does not seem to have "temperature balancing". In other words, I was shocked to see the temperature fluctuate to sometimes very cold […] and at other times VERY hot during a shower. This could be very dangerous. The hotel was very clean, personnel friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was right. Cafe right in the lobby, good inexpensive food. Close to all the shows and shops. Would definitley go back again....

Even though the Edison is showing its age it is still a good choice if you want to be close to Times Square and the Theater District. Our room ( #708 ) was more than adequate, old but clean. Small bathroom with leaky faucet but it was very clean. Enjoyed the cafe for breakfast but walked west a block or two and enjoyed the many restaurant choices in […] Hells Kitchen for dinner. Subway stops located 4 blocks north and south were easily accessed but a little confusing finding which train we wanted. After a few rides it was easier and we never felt unsafe. If you plan to see any Broadway Shows see "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert". Great show, great music, great story, funny, touching.. We also saw Wicked. The hotel was great!! Very clean and tidy. The front desk staff and all the other staff were very friendly and the restaurant downstairs was incredible. We would order breakfast and it was delivered in less time than it took to take a sip of coffee!! The location was good however rooms very tiredwe had chips in furniture crack in sink. there was supposed to be three of us in the room thank goodness there was only two as it would have been really cramped. As we were in our rooms for a very short time it was bearable it was classed as budget hotel so i guess you have to weigh up location re room condition. "Multinational flair - Fair rates - Great location"
We stay here from time to time when we visit NYC and love the place. Art deco designs throughout the hotel make you feel like you've gone back to another era when you walk in the door. You'll also meet people from all over the world in the elevator, in the bar, in the lobby. I like that. The beds are comfortable the showers are OK and the staff is friendly. […] Can you fiind somewhere more modern with bigger rooms and beds? Yes. But it's going to cost you a lot more and I can pretty much guarantee you that what you'll give up in convenience to the theatre district and other sights of the city will offset any creature comforts you feel like you're upgrading to. When we go to the city we're not hanging out in our room anyway. If that's your goal, stay home.
