The Westin Maui Resort & Spa - Mauin saari

I don't know what some of these other people are thinking who left comments saying they weren't happy with the hotel. I think some people are just never happy with anything. For the amount of money they charge for the rooms, they are very small and need updating.

The grounds were well kept and the location was convenient. The rooms are weel used, outdated and need and overhaul. The bathroon door and frame wer not aligned and the door stuck.

The resort has a fantastic pool and beach front location. Its position next to the Whalers village increasing restaurant and shopping choices. The hotel does not have a business centre, but provided two computers free for guest use, unfortulately these were not working for two of the days of our visit. The option of reserving beach lounges was frustrating […] as these were often booked out and therefore sitting on the lovely beach was difficult. the free shuttle into Lahina was a great option, but often too full to get on in the morning- I would suggest half hourly reather than hourly runs into Lahina. upon arrival, we were given a room on the 4th flr when i paid a premium for the OCEAN VIEW rooms... so after 1 night, we asked for a higher floor room and was granted the request. the location of the hotel is definitely convenient, however, the rooms definitely need upgrading. our first room had wallpapers that were torn/coming off, and our 2nd room […] the sink started to leak!! thankfully it was our last day. for a hotel to carry the Westin name i had expected more. but i guess if you are looking for convenience and location, this hotel is OK... oh and the heavenly beds are definitely very comfortable and the housekeeping did a good job and the rooms were very clean. My family and I stayed recently at the westin in kaanapali to finish off our stay in Maui after renting a house for 10 days. The pool was very nice and the service at the pool was good, unless you are okay with sleeping on the pool chairs stay somewhere else. The room we stayed in was very dirty and smelled bad. We ended up dousing the carpet with perfume. […] We have two kids and the walls are so thin we could hear every partier coming home late. The first night we tried to order room service, the first time they didn't answer the phone, the second time they put us on hold and never picked back up. Overall, we had a very nice stay at the Westin Maui resort and spa, but all was not perfect in paradise. We had an ocean view room and we there for 6 nights (12/26 - 1/1). This was our first big vacation with our 2 year old son outside the mainland, so there are a couple thoughts to share. We have traveled (airplane) about 6 times with our son already, […] but most travel has been in the lower 48 States. Checkin - I have never seen a check-in process this chaotic. We got to the hotel about 1pm, put our name in and they said they would call us when the room was ready. This seemed perfect, how we did not get our room until 5pm (2 hours late.) If it was just my wife and I this would have been fine, but with a kid in tow it can be a little nightmare. I witnessed this happen to about 10-15 families...which should not happen at a hotel chain like the Westin. When you're spending good money, you expect a room at 3pm checkin. My wife and I have traveled a decent amount around the Caribbean, Mexico, S Pacific and have never seen this type of chaos before. I noticed it happen every day as we walked by the lobby. The hotel did comp us (and others) for the delay, but I would have much rather had the room at 3pm. Room - Our ocean view room was good. We were in center of hotel on 6th floor with a pretty nice view. However, anyone on our side of the hotel was pretty close to the lobby waterfall, so it was pretty loud at night. You could sleep with windows open, but it was surprisingly loud. I can't imagine those rooms right above the lobby waterfall, it must have sounded like they were sleeping inside the waterfall. Pool - The pool is very nice. However, we had some high winds (35 mph+) the first couple of days, so the pool was cold. Most of the little one's we saw (under 3/4) and spoke with were not in the pool as you froze in and when you got out. The older kids were fine. There was an added charge [above the paid in full fee from hotels.com] for use of various hotel services [such as exercise room, shuttles, in room bottles of water] that were not used.

Our room was filthy dirty. Mold, grim, dirt and bird poop all over the balcony. The hot water faucet handle broke off, toilet backed up, elevator was broken down and they gave us a room next to the only working elevator so it dinged all night. We picked this hotel because it had an amazing looking pool and a water slide. What can I say, I've yet to grow up. The food at the restaurant was good, the bar staff was pleasantly engaging and the water slide was fantastic. As an added bonus, if you walk north to Black Rock Beach, you can swim with turtles! This is a great hotel. The rate was well worth it.

The location was great. The hotel itself was nice. Very crowded lots of kids,....not mellow if that is what you are looking for....Front desk staff not friendly.

Service at front desk was very good, however every where else in the hotel was poor. Room smelled of sewage. Was moved on 3rd day to an upgraded room, which also smelled of sewage. Other guests complained of the same odor. Over priced, everything is an additional cost (beach chairs, umbrellas). If you do rent these items they have to be returned by […] 4:30pm or charged for another day. Pool service, I personally had to go to the poolside restaurant to ask for service. What a disappointment! The room was on the top floor and had a great view of the ocean BUT there was a restaurant next door that started receiving deliveries at 5:30 AM. Every truck had a backup alarm that was very loud. The carpet in the room was filthy. I dropped a coin on the floor and when I picked it up I could see fingernail clipping all over […] the carpet. The bathroom was in poor condition. The door stop on the door was falling off. The towel bar was bent. Housekeeping did not clean the mirror. The baseboard was dirty and the water in the toilet came up too high. We made dinner reservations for the best restaurant there. Picked out the table. Great location - terrible condition.. Bring bug spray if you plan to stay.

All you are paying for is the name. Rooms are small and out dated and if you ask for a partial ocean view you get a great view of the parking lot of which you have to pay $20+ a day to park in, if you can find a spot in there tiny lot. But its not all bad, the resort is beautiful and you are on the beach.

The Westin was fabulous! The grounds were beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The staff was helpful and provided great suggestions for a true Hawaiian experience. Ocean view room was worth every penny! The only negative was the size of the bathroom, but we got used to that. We were there during some minor construction and the only reason we knew […] that was the 4 am fire drill:-) We made that fun too...we were in Hawaii! The beds were comfortable and the spa amazing! The breakfast buffet is a must, but leave one day open for any early excursions you may plan. We have two pre-paid breakfast vouchers we were unable to use. The restaurants for dinner are decent and there are some fabulous places for dinner within walking distance of the hotel. Overall, one of the best hotels we have stayed at and would recommend it to everyone. In fact our friends just booked a week there! We have been to the Westin Maui Resort and Spa many times in the past. The last time we stayed at the hotel however was twelve years ago. The hotel is just as beautiful as we remembered it, and we found that the areas for dining now included an ocean front option for breakfast as well as an outdoor area dedicated to convention events and their twice […] weekly luau. We completely enjoyed our stay at the Westin. The resort was very well maintained. I would recommend hiring a car as it is nice to get out and explore or even make a trip to the shops. You could spend your whole time at the resort and never leave if you wanted everything is available there. The beach at the resort was fairly rouch we swap in there […] once however the waves were very dumping and it got deep very quickly, it is not a good beach for children. This is not an issue really because there is 4 pools to choose from including an adults only pool which is more relaxing for those who dont have children. The parking attendants were helpful and friendly and pointed my husband toward the free parking lot. The front desk staff was welcoming and got us our breakfast passes. As I waited in line to check-in, the gentleman distributing complimentary welcome shell lei necklaces walked over to greet me, find out my story, and give me a lei. The waterfall and […] flamingo pond was stunning and the lobby smelled like a tropical paradise (maybe lingering perfume or perhaps an amazing air-freshener)! The breakfast buffet is WONDERFUL. Plenty of meat for my husband and plenty of veggie options for me! The partial ocean view room was perfect, spacious lanai, nice in-room furniture, great to have a refrigerator available (we bought alcohol and juices at Safeway and made our own in-room drinks to save money, then we'd hit up happy hours at local restaurants). My husband's one complaint was uncomfortable pillows and a plush bed (he's used to a firm mattress). This was our honeymoon and we've already decided that we'll return to this property in future years. We walked the beach front and wandered through the Marriott, Hyatt, and Sheraton, but the Westin was by far our favorite. Perfect blend of contemporary and tropical. i've always love staying at the westin hotel, this hotel is in a perfect location with a great view.

At the Westin you can expect to pay extra for shade by the pool and by the ocean. Every meal is very expensive even at their cheaper restaurant and the hotel fee (which we didn't know about until we got there) doesn't cover much. If you do go, the Tropica restaurant is fabulous at sunset and the slide at the pool is fun. We were not given the option […] of staying in the room type that we prepaid for and were forced to sleep in a double bed room. So call ahead to make sure you will get the room you reserve. If considering room types at the Westin Maui, I must advise that the Deluxe Ocean View, at least mine, was not worth the money it cost to upgdrade from regular Ocean View...my view overlooked the back/employee parking area of the Whaler's village mall next door...Instead of waking up to the calm sound of the ocean waves, I was awakened by the sound […] of garbage (glass) being thrown in the garbage bins at by the mall's maintenance crew..not exactly my idea of paradise Lisätietoja

This was a beautiful hotel. Staff was always friendly, room was very clean, bed was really comfortable. The Westin has beautiful landscaping with lots of tropical flowers and a waterfall by every pool. I really liked that they had an adult pool. I can not say enough about this hotel. When I return to Maui, I will definately be staying here again.

We booked a partial ocean view with king sized bed. At check in we were upgraded to full ocean but with two full beds. They did volunteer to push the beds together and put a thing between the mattresses so there wasn't a gap. This actually worked out fine. The resort fee covered things like 2 bottles of water per day, parking, and a photo taken by a […] photographer. Seemed like a bit much for what we got. Also we paid for the Breakfast buffet with our room but was only able to use it 4 times. It did not open until 6:30 and most of the morning excursions check in times were so early so we had to skip the breakfast. It would have been better at 5:30. We were upgraded as soon as we got there to a partial ocean view and recieved complimentary breakfast buffets,which were delicous. Beautiful setting,much nicer than Hyatt or Sheridan. Friendly service always. Pool could use more louges and espeically umbrellas. Would absolutely stay again and choose hotel's .com

The property is located next to Whaler's Village in Kaanapali and in the midst of several other resort hotels. Restaurants and food was great. Hotel staff were always helpful. Lahaina is only 10 minutes away with plenty to do or there is plenty to do if you just stay at the hotel. マウイは３回目。何回行っても環境抜群。 いつもツアーでしたが今回はＪＡＬマイル使用で旅行 ウェスティンホテルは始めてですが、利便性がいいね どこに行くのも行きやすいし買い物も便利。 ただ残念なのがシャワー室しかないのが、、、、 （いつもゴルフ後湯船使用） 疲れがとれるため。　 シャワーしかないのが残念でした

8月12日から行ってきました。ファミリーには隣接している、ホエラーズビレッジもあり、利便性も良いです。ただ、ホテルの部屋自体は良いのですが、幾つか部屋のカーペットにガラスの破片がありました。たまたまかもしれませんが。

a large hotel with no personal touch.

ここに限らずですが、マウイのホテルの相場はワイキキなどに比べるとかなり高いです・・・。 オーシャンビューで予約しましたが、低層階の海よりも全然手前の部屋だったのでパーシャルでしか海が見えませんでした・・・ 何より一番がっかりしたのは、エレベーターのすぐ脇の部屋なので、夜中までエレベーター音が響きうるさい。 あからさまに格の低い部屋をあてがわれたと思いました。 また、リゾートフィー（タオルの無料貸し出など？）みたいなチャージを毎日$28くらいとられ、結果的にかなり高い滞在費になってしまいました・・・ その他のサービスなどは流石のウエスティンですから申し分ないのですが・・・ ハネムーンなどの記念旅行じゃなければ、コンドみたいなところの方がマウイはいいかもしれません。

２度目の滞在でしたがプールも広く快適に過ごせました ただ残念なのが２泊とも朝食のブュッフェメニューが全く同じだったのが残念でした。 もう少しメニューに変化が欲しいですね あとお部屋のアメニティーグッズも妻曰くコットンや綿棒、歯ブラシ、スリッパぐらいは電話で持って来てもらわなくても良いように最初から備え付けておいて欲しいとの事です。

初めてのマウイ島滞在でウェスティンに泊まりましたが、立地、ホテルの施設、スタッフの対応すべてに置いて満足しました。 次回マウイを訪れるチャンスがあればまた泊まりたいと思います。 客室のヘブンリーベッドがとても快適でしたので、自宅用に購入しようと思っています。

日本語で問い合わせしたいことがあって、朝８時に電話しても対応がありませんでした。　 私は何とか英語でのコミュニケーションはできますが、ややこしい件でのニュアンスに問題があると思っております。　そのためできれば２４時間または早朝からの対応があればもっと安心できるのではないかと感じました。

グレードの高いサービスを期待していたが、残念な点が2点あった。1つは部屋のトイレが詰まって流れなくなったこと。設備は意外に整っていないようだ。もうひとつはベッドに他の人の毛が残っていたこと。前の人が使ったあとシーツを変えていないのか、よくわからないが、自分の毛と違う人の毛がシーツに残っており驚いた。
