Great location.On Riverwalk,walking distance to Alamo and shopping Mall.

We traveled to SA from Houston for NIOSA...and this hotel was perfect for that, as it is two blocks from La Villita. More generally, it is a definite asset that this hotel is literally on the riverwalk - the river flows right below the hotel. The staff were friendly without being pushy or intrusive. Overall, staying here was a great great experience. […] The two big cons: 1) Getting our car back from valet took FOREVER, like a half hour. 2) The elevator situation. The elevators are very slow, very crowded, and just know to budget yourself an extra 5-10 minutes to get where you're going because they take awhile. It was an awesome visit to San Antonio. The hotel is very convenient to everything. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was great. The only problem we had was upon leaving the Hotel, the key to our vehicle was misplaced and we were delayed about an hour leaving. We went to parking garage with valet to search for our […] keys. We were there for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. The hotel staff attended to our every need and solved a problem we encountered with the reservation right away. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay there in the future.

The only thing that I did not like about the hotel is that they have first come first serve type of parking and by the time I arrived to the hotel their parking lot was full and we had to park two blocks away from the hotel

Had a great time, the hotel was in a great location! Even with the craziness of "Fiesta" going on in San Antonio they did a great job of getting us in quick. Overall a great trip!

i arrived at the hotel around 6:30 pm on the 28th of April and there was no parking available in the Hilton parking garage. Valet suggested that we park a couple of blocks away in a pay lot, which we later found out was full. Then the front desk told us that he called the River Center and they had room in their parking garage for a $20 flat rate. The […] directions he gave us didn't work because there were streets blocked off and it took 30 min for us to get there and then we had to walk back to the hotel (what an inconvenience). He gave us to vouchers for a free breakfast but we weren't able to use them because we had problems getting out of the parking garage due to a special event company was issuing parking stubs that didn't work in the machines to leave so we had to hunt down a parking attendant and have them let us out. By the time we got back to the hotel, breakfast was over. There were also a few short hairs on the sheets what makes me wonder if the sheets were even changed after the last guests. The room was clean and fresh, and the Hotel Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

We went to Fiesta a huge celebration in San Antonio. The staff was extremely cordial and helpful.This hotel was the perfect hotel to see any and every event. The renovation was a great success and now has a modern eclectic flair. Highly recommended.

It was a great stay and the bed was very comfortable, room was spacious. Bath tub would have been nice if it was bigger and the tile looked old. Can not wait to stay again. Staff was very friendly.

Simply put - the hotel is very nice w/ comfortable rooms and great service. Only problem - my husband and I could hear EVERYTHING being said in the neighboring room. Our stay was during Feista; therefore, some noise was expected; however, it was ridiculous. Other than the noise, lovely hotel.

Very poor ,there was no parking at the hotel and took three times to get all the paper work to park in there designated parking at $ 22.50 per night which we weren't told of first night second night valet parking was available so chose to valet park which was $ 35.50 a night which wasn't told that till we went to check out . staff very helpful and very conscientious

We had such a great view of the riverwalk and the hotel was perfect. We were able to check in a couple hours earlier than the actual check in time, which was perfect after a long flight to San Antonio. It is right on the riverwalk and do convienient to get to all the great shops and restaurants. The only two negative things was that you have to park […] across the street on a public parking garage. Yeah, the hilton has their own level, but we had to walk back and forth a long way from our hotel to our car if we forgot something. So it could definitely just be the Hilton's way of making you use their valet parking. Another negative was that the housekeeper came knocking on our door so early in the morning! Stay was great. Doors led right onto the river walk. The hotel resteraunts was fantastic. The hotel was in a great location to head back and quickly take a rest when we got tired. Great place to stay.

This hotel is centrally located amongst the hotel and restaurants in downtown San Antonio. If attending a convention, its location is very good being a long block away from the new convention centre and across the street from the old convention centre. The entrance hotel is tex-mex with a lot of stone/tile finishing. Not grandiose but welcoming. The […] staff are welcoming and polite. The rooms are a little bit smaller than average but still very functionel. The wardrobe was a little crowded because of the presence of a small fridge which may be very helpful to some persons. My room on the 19th floor had a small balcony with a view over the convention centre and further; it is nice to be able to step out and get some air. The room had a sliding door for the bathroom and wardrobe which is a little bit inconvenient. The style is almost japanese but not quite. Very clean, comfortable, clean bed, multiple pillows. Laundry service was impoeccable. A very good hotel. In a convention, I would prefer the Marriotts because of their location but the Hilton is more quiet ... It depends on what you are looking for. Pubic hair on toilet seat. Bats on the balcony so we couldn't use the "riverview suite" the entire night. No cups for water. No minibar. No coffee cups for the coffee maker. I researched long and hard for this hotel and it really disappointed me; won't be going back here.

We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Hilton. I went for a conference and my husband and 4 month old son came along. We had a wonderful time, always felt safe walking around our hotel at night - street level and riverwalk. The location was right across the street from convention center and you could also take an elevator in the hotel down to river […] level and walk right out onto the riverwalk. Convenient to many restaurants/bars. CVS a few min. Walk down the riverwalk. Service was outstanding. I debated about this hotel because of negative reviews but it exceeded all of my expectations. The Hilton Palacio del Rio is a beautiful hotel with interesting history. The rooms were very modern and comfortable. The staff was fantastic, friendly, and accommodating. There are lots of great restaurants and bars close by, and the Riverwalk is just outside the door. This is a perfect place to stay when visiting San Antonio.

My newly-renovated room was comfortable and stylish, with a comfy upholstered chair and ottoman. The cityscape view from the 21st floor was super -- the Tower of the Americas was my nightlight! (I agree with an earlier reviewer, that the cityscape view is preferable to the river view, at least on the upper floors.) And nothing compares to walking out […] the hotel door and stepping right onto the Riverwalk. My wife and I stayed here for a getaway weekend and we have nothing but praise for the hotel staff for making our stay a very comfortable one. We will stay here again in the future. It is right on the riverwalk so it's close to a lot of very good restaurants.

good location, parking is over priced

Me and my girlfriend stayed at this hotel for the weekend and we loved it. Very clean, comfortable, and the staff was very nice. The rooms were amazing and we had a great view of San Antonio. We were saying while we were there that we can't wait to come back. The only thing that would be bad is the parking. $39 for valet a night seemed too high for […] us. First, you must park yourself two blocks away on the 7th floor, then walk two blocks to the hotel. You get to pay $22 a night for this priveledge. We had a river view king room, but our view from the fifth floor was a HUGE green cylindrical tank of some kind and a construction site! You had to pay for wifi service. I'm not sure why nicer hotels feel […] they can charge for this when it is free at cheaper motels. Then, we get to the bed. There was a huge hollow in the middle and we woke several times to find us both squeezed into this huge dip and having to climb out of it. We paid a pretty large sum two nights. Centrally located by all attractions. Wonderful views!

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Hilton Palacio in San Antonio. Our room was beautiful and the staff very welcoming & attentive. My only complaint is that our room over-looked a huge water tower just across the River Walk. Be aware of that when you book an upper level River Walk room, the view won't be as good as you anticipated.

A+++ on everything except the pool wasnt open & the opening date was scheduled for 3/10/12. The other mishappen was the unclean sheets on a bed that had been made to appear it was clean. The housekeeping mgr was notified who rectified the problem immediately.

the hotel rooms have been remodeled and they look great. the staff is polite and it is a gret location on the river walk.

Our first stay at this hotel and we hope to repeat it every year. Only downfall was self parking almost a block away. Valet was full from St. Patrick's Day. Not their fault, but a little annoying. I was very satisfied with the Hotel in general, if I had to say anything critical, it would be that we were too high up to see anything on the riverwalk. The service and the beauty of the Hotel was impeccable. I was also disappointed that the Valet parking was full and we had to self park (what an ordeal!). But overall, great Hotel!
