Kauai Beach Resort - Lihue

I found this to be a very nice hotel. Updated, modern, and very clean. The restaurants were great, and the five pools were spectacular. Positioned right on the beach front, sunrise was a spectacular event to watch. Staff were very pleasant and incredibly helpful.

We made reservations through hotels.com and received a great rate for such a nice resort with so many great amenities. Pools were amazing. Food at the outside bar and grill was fantastic. Location was ideal and the level of service from the staff was awesome from all outlets. Rooms we very nice, clean and well equipped with flat screens, coffee maker, […] patio, nice decore and very comfortable beds. Restaurant looked very nice but never had time to done. If I have to find a negative it was that the coffee bar only had 1 staff member and some mornings it took awhile to get my morning coffee when there was a line but coffee was superb and she was super nice and informed me on local sushi places to take my GF. this is a "you got what you paid for" kind of hotel, sadly since you are in hawaii, you end up paying more than one would normally want for this level of hotel. they do keep it decently clean, but in pretty bad repair which gives the impression of it being less clean. i ended up making reservations elsewhere for the rest of the trip. built in the 70s […] or so, this hotel could use an overhaul. Had a one night excursion to Kauai on a 4 Island trip. Got to resort about 6:00 on a perfect night. Had a little work to on the tablet, then went to look for food. Went to the bar/lanai downstairs. Hawaiian musician getting after it, great vibe, great entertainment. Amazing night, good food, cold Longboards on tap. perfect. Early to rise for sunrise […] on the beach. Walked down the onsite beachhead with my Kona Coffee and smart device. Nice morning reach out to contacts in California and got some work done early(3 hour time difference). I will stay there again. There were not a lot of guests on the day we stayed at the hotel, but the staff was very nice and accommodating. We will definitely stay again for a nice hotel in a central location.

We only needed one night, but took advantage of the pool, beach and outside bar. The food was good. Service was friendly and quick. The beach was beautiful. We came for a 3 night stay, it was clean, comfortable and the overall services very good. We didn't really eat at the hotel we traveled the island, but the breakfast cafe was good every morning.

The grounds are nice and the staff is friendly. However.....I received an extremely urgent fedex package and was never contacted that it had arrived. I asked for a wake up call for an early appointment and never received it. I was dismayed when I was charged $5 for a bottle of water in the lobby store. $14 to use the internet per day is uncalled for. […] The cost of parking was outrageous and it was a long walk to the hotel. Location of resort was very convenient close to the airport and close to east side of island with all the good local food, Wialua river, and all the beaches perfect for proposing during a sunrise. OK, Kauai is not Maui and you shouldn't go there expecting great beaches...but don't be fooled by the name of this place. The beach is unusable (but very pretty). The property is all by itself a short drive north of the Lihue Airport. If you have no transportation you will be stuck paying their outrageous prices for food and drink. If you do drive a […] car be advised that they also charge an obscene rate for parking (just because they can). They also offer an even more expensive valet parking in the most convenient spaces (that therefore go unused). On the up side, the rooms are very comfortable and updated, and the staff is as nice as they can be. We had a great time as we always do in Kauai. There are great restaurants north of the hotel within six miles or so that offer great food at good prices. We bought a package through Expedia that included airfare. When we checked in, we were initially given a room on the first floor overlooking an empty field. The patio door didn't lock and there were screaming kids next door. We asked for a new room and they were quick to accommodate us. The Expedia guest services/concierge were very helpful. We booked […] a few adventures through them. They even helped us track down my sunglasses after I left them at the kayak shop and they also helped us when we needed a taxi. The spa was also nice. We both got a massage and the therapists were very good at listening to what we wanted. They had Jerlique products at the spa, which are high end. The food (breakfast/lunch) and drinks at the hotel were adequate. We had room service one night and it came quickly and was exactly as requested. The hotel is close to many things, but we needed to get a rental car after a few day as most things are 10-20 mins away. This place was a good find especially at a 30% discount on Hotels.com!! The beds are so very comfy and the beach is VERY "au naturale". It seems to go on forever- both directions! Everyone very friendly:))

Rooms & amenities in good condition. Beach can be windy & sea rough in winter; resort is isolated from other island actvities & sites. Lots of courtyard pools for kids & hanging out. Extra fees for parking & internet annoying but overall fair value.

Great central location. Beautiful long sandy walking beach. Saw whales jumping and spouting from our ocean view room. The trade winds were blowing constantly, so it was much cooler than we expected, and our excursions were not as good as they would be in summer months. Did not get the sunset cruise up the Napoli coast as the water was too rough, but […] did see lots of whales, 1 monk seal and a sea turtle. Would not book this during winter months, same goes for hiking plans. Parking lot canopies were done so was no issue with mud. Gave us a break on parking rate for checking in on time. Was $14/day, gave us $7/day. 1 elevator out of order over a week but still no problems. Pools look great, but too cool for me. Not overly impressed with food, high price and not the best quality. the staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and very customer centric. Location is great just 4 miles from airport . It's central location makes it easy to explore both North and South Kauai. we would definitely comeback to this hotel and already have referred friends

Power was out for 1 full night - room got too hot. Parking costs $$, Internet access charge was high unless you hung out in the lobby for free internet.

This was a wonderful destination for our honeymoon. There are 3 pools and a couple hot tubs. We had an amazing couples massage right in the spa. The seafood buffet was also very tasty and worth the money. We will be coming back!

It was an okay hotel. I travel quite a bit and I was expecting a hotel that was not quite so run down for what they charge. The restaurant was a bit pricey, nothing unusual for a hotel restaurant; however, the meals weren't very good. It would be a good place to stay if you have children. Very isolated hotel. There were several places to eat at this resort, and they were all very, very expensive. There was no way to go anywhere else, and if you parked a car, they charged you for that, too. You even had to sign out towels for the pools.

We spent 7 nights here and overall were very pleased with the hotel - its grounds are lovely and the location is good. The staff are also extremely friendly and attentive. The only downside was the room was near a noisy icemaker across the hall when I had asked for a quiet room, but luckily it wasn't used that often. Also the room's small refrigerator […] was not well sealed (the rubber seal was falling off completely) and the TV was very old. I hope those will be upgraded soon. We used the self-parking lot during our stay which is right next to the valet parking lot. Both got major puddles during a full day of rain, so a raised sidewalk to navigate out of there back to the hotel would be a nice addition. The food in the restaurants was too expensive so we only ate there the night we arrived, and the next day's morning brunch that we got a discount ticket for from Expedia's local representative housed at the hotel's Guest Services desk. We would definitely consider staying here again the next time we come to beautiful Kauai. The location is ideal for touring different parts of the island and the setting way off the main road is a major advantage. My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The staff is super friendly and the grounds are well kept. The location is very centralized on the island for the purposes of getting around. The pool and Grotto/hot tub area is great with 2 tubs. We loved the hotel and it's location. The beach was amazing but we couldn't swim because of the strong waves. But that's okay - there were 3 pools that we used and there were lots of chairs. The concierge was very helpful in booking our activities. The front desk staff and the valets were all amazing. The rooms were big and very comfortable.

We were happy to land here at the end of our trip. The pools were very nice and the ocean views were wonderful too. There was great surf just outside the property line. The hotel settings and the service were very nice, but the location of the hotel was remote. To rent a car it would cost an additional $100 a day. great to get a free hotel/airport transfer for a change. hotel is located only a short cab ride from the nearest conviences, but you don't really need to leave the hotel grounds. free wifi is only in the lobby which is bit of a pain, but there are plenty of comfy couches to lounge in and check emails. breakfast was a bit hit and miss, was overlooked […] at the host stand one morning since i was dining alone, couples and groups were attended to before they even noticed me. but the food from the ala carte menu was nice and didn't take too long. Hotel and staff were great. However, the parking lot charged at $13/day was an unpaved mud pit, covering us with mud every time we wanted to access our car. This is unfortunate because the hotel and staff were pleasant making us want to revisit, but we would not come back here solely because of the rip off parking situation.

The photos of the resort on the travel websites are deceiving. The resort is much nicer than it looks. The rooms were spacious for a family of four with young children. The various pools were also nice for families with young children. The only deficiency was the lack of firmness for the beds.
