We stayed at the Holiday Inn Toms River for just one night. When we checked in, we were given a smoking & handicap-accessible room, which we hadn't requested. Understandably, the hotel was booked and had no other rooms...but to be given a smoking room when you don't request it is a real problem. We couldn't stand the smell, but were basically trapped […] in it for 14 hours. The gentleman at the desk was very nice and helpful, even giving us free breakfast for the next morning, acknowledging he could not move us as there were no rooms...he would have moved us if he could. It was just a huge bummer to have to sleep in a smoking room when we're not smokers...trapped in that smell. Lisätietoja

Clean, quite, comfortable, but poor check-in at nite and poor prepaid breakfast.

My only compliant would be that I requested a king size bed and got two doubles instead. Also, it was a smoking room. That wasn't an option when I booked this. If I had known they still allowed people to smoke cigarettes in the hotel I would have requested a non-smoking room. It smelled like an ashtray. When we checked in, my parents were staying across the hall to watch our 2 year old daughter while we attended a funeral. We found out that they had a toilet leak and the hotel's solution was to lay a bunch of towels around it and think that fixed the problem. Real sanitary to have a 2 year old in that room. Also, when we got to our room when I refused […] to have my daughter in something that unsanitary, our TV in our room did not work for a child that had been stuck in a car for 10 hours! When we called to order some food they treated my husband like he was an idiot because the phone did not work to make local calls. We got treated dumb while there and never had anything taken off of the room charges. They could have at least taken something off f our room service charge being that we payed through hotels.com. That was the only positive part that it was easy booking because it wasn't through the hotel It's also disturbing that 3 police we parked in front of the hotel at checkout. There for just one night but (traveling with husband and teen son), was completely satisfied with everything...the friendly and efficient service, convenient location, cleanliness, comfort (good pillows). They provide a good breakfast (for a reasonable extra charge).

When you're looking for a clean, quiet, convenient hotel, try this place. There is a restaurant bar on premise and the service is above average. friendly staff check you in quickly and the rooms are spotless. King bed is a knock out and the bathtub is way above average hotel fare.

The hotel was easy to access from the highway and having a restaurant in the building was convenient. It was inconvenient not having a refrigerator and microwave in our room. We requested a room with both of these but our room had neither one.

Staff polite and helpful however our room had an awful smoking stinch! Yuk

We totally enjoyed out stay at the Holiday Inn in Toms River. It was clean, quiet and the front desk service was very good. We had a few problems that were immedately addressed and professionally handled. We will go there again next year!

Room was good. Complaints would be bar closed at 830pm on Sunday holiday weekend and brunch over at 11am on Monday. They should have operated the hotel on holiday hours. The last weekend of the summer and you're at the beach.

There was a line at checkin, thought we'd be there forever but very efficient and didn't take long at all. The room was large, really as nice as more upscale chains. Loved the choice of pillows!

It's a typical Holiday Inn typical no frills, disappointed that there's no complimentary breakfast, no menus for in room roomservice and the breakfast buffet wasn't really easy on the wallet. I was also dissappointed that I couldn't extend my stay for one more evening, front desk didn't even try to find a way... Over all it was fine

Took a half hour to check in. Only one desk clerk to check in a sold out hotel. Front desk phone rininging off the hook. Clanging air conditioner in the room all night. Doors that you should need a room key to enter not locked. Poor security. We were not pleased.

Beds were hard and small. Front desk lacked in hospitality. There was no information on local restrauants or attractions. The Wi-Fi was basically unusable.

My family and I booked this room for a one night stay for a family function. We checked in past 11 pm. We got the room next to the elevator that was level with an adjoining rooftop. The room was not very clean. Surface clean, yes. But the rug was stained, the grout in bath was black (supposed to be white), bath light came on 10 minutes after you left […] the room, and the worst part of the night was the air conditioner that blew out some horible smell that we had to turn it off at 3 am. Also, the security guard at the door of the lounge next to the front desk didn't make us feel safe. It made us wonder just how rowdy this lounge got. I was there for a week for a conference. It had all the necessities and basics. Nothing fancy, but nice stay. Only issue I had was with motorists who zoom by at night. I was woken up a few times because of that. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to ask for a room that's not next to the road.

There is nothing but a bed made fancy with ribbons and candy on bed. i would rather have had microwave or icebox in room. Or better water pressure.

While the room was pretty clean I found it very disturbing to find a used contraceptive wrapper behind the dresser as I went to plug the phone charger in.

The staff at the front desk was helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean. Pretty basic stuff. We stayed 5 days, 4 nights for a wedding and the hotel served it's purpose. The only complaint I have is that the services did not match the rates. The room had no mini fridge to keep food in, small pool with no hot tub, A/C in room was loud, cleaning crew […] carts blocked the hallway ALL DAY and to top it off there was NO complimentary breakfast...only free coffee. I've received these things from MOTELS, so when I'm paying 4-star HOTEL rates, I expect at least a free bagel in the morning. On the plus side, it was a10 minute drive to the shore, we always scored one of the free parking spots at the beach and the shampoo provided in the room smelled awesome (not the manliest, but I already got a wife, who cares if I smell like coconuts and bamboo) Bottom line, you'll get basic accommodations for a price you'd expect more from. You're better off finding a motel at Half the price if all you need is a roof, bed and tv...because that's basically all you're getting at this Holiday Inn. Lisätietoja

We booked two nights through hotels.com, but on chck in we were treated as second rate visitors. We were given a handicapped room which had a shower wand that did not stay up. We complained and were told that we were assigned that room as we were "flow-in" whatever that meant. The next day was Sunday and we were told there was no maintenance man in […] duty to fix the shower wand. Very hard to wash and shampoo with one hand. This hotel was in a convenient location when we visited friends in Island Heights New Jersey. It is a comfortable place to stay.

This is a standard business class hotel. The people at the front desk are very nice. The house keeping staff not so friendly. I left a 5 dollar tip for house keeping and left a note for extra towels. The money and note were gone, and I had less towels than what i started with. Upon check in, we found a cockroach on the floor on our bathroom, it took about 15 minutes before we could change rooms. the chair in our new room was broken and uncomfortable. the beds were uncomfortable. the rugs in the rooms were filthy. my daughters went barefoot while we were settleing in and within an hour thier feet were black!! we will not be […] staying here again, nor will we recommend it to our friends. overcharged for the level of comfort and cleanliness. I enjoyed my stay, even after the Security gaurd was hitting on my girl & her friend right infront of me. Also after we made it in late & he followed us back to the room trying to talk to her with me there. Every amusing til I get to my door and I'm thinking we are going to relax for the rest of the night. Oh yeah I forgot to add that we were out cause […] we were awoken cause of a car running straight through the room next door awaking everyone. I wonder were this same security guard was or any member of the staff was when we where unpinning the woman in the next room from the car? Just when you taught Sunday had seen all the events possible so early in the day. Two hours later around 7am, we are awaken by maintence men banging on both our outside window and our room door with the DO NOT DISTURB sing clearly on the door! So before we took our 3 hour drive back home from our first total kid free week in months. We stop by the service desk and ask if anything was going to be done about the endless interruptions of the night before that left us with no more then 2 hours of sleep. Ha Ha Haaaa, well lets say the manger on duty was less then receptive to my fieancee and we were still charged full price for everything, including breakfeast! I wonder how big the lawsuit would of been if we did not wake up and have me and my brothers save the lady from being sufficated by the the car that was pinning her. While the whole time not one Hotel staffer was to be seen. I spent over $300 for a weekend of R & R. just to get about 5 hours of rest and a total body workout for about 2 hours. and a extra bill for breakfast. IHOP never seemed so good after that. After reading all the reviews to this hotel I guess I was just expecting more. The room was average, my TV was blurry, the bathroom was clean but lacking in space. The pool was fun, but when we got out we felt like there was a layer of clorine on our skin. They didn't have enough refrigerators for every room so we were put on a waitlist and we got one […] the night before we left which was really pointless. The holiday inn in toms river - In reality, It looks completely difference from the pictures. It is noisy, little smelly and old. The front desk staff has no smiles and guessed why - she probibly got at least one complaint every day.

The hotel is decent. Clean and marginally comfortable. The bed isn't the most comfortable, and there was a bit of a musty smell in the room. I didn't try the food at the hotel, since there was plenty of other restaurants up and down the street. I thought the breakfast prices looked a bit overpriced. This Holiday Inn seems to be primarily family friendly. […] The pool was filled with family and kids. Then I could hear kids running around in the hallway, and several times during the night kids were knocking at the door not realizing it was the wrong room. The hotel was great except for the fact that the free wireless did not work and the breakfast was $8.00 for the usual free breakfast.

I enjoyed my stay at Holiday Inn of Tom's River . Some things that i feel are noteworthy : The breakfast buffet was really good , Staff was pleasant , and helpful . Hotel was very clean . We were staying with other family members who had rooms next to ours. We all had small children and made great use of the pool. The temperature of the pool was so comfortable. we were in it for 2&1/2 hours. I would have preferred our room to have a fridge, but that was my oversight. Thanks for a great stay
