The beds are not very comfortable. Staff was helpful and nice. The building was clean. For the price, I was very happy.

Excellent value. Nice staff. Decent breakfast (need more fruit!). Will stay again.

Location is good but kind of a dim hotel. Flimsy pillows and old.

Hotel pool is 3 feet so my 4 yr old could stand. There are climbing boulders that kids could play on as well. Oh and the bar lets you take drinks back to your room.

Charming,festive bright colors. Fine breakfast. Nice indoor pool and hot tub. Excellent location near college campus. We ate nearby Italian restaurant. Quite good.

Great indoor pool and hot tub. Fun place to bring kids. Right across the street from CU campus. We've been bringing our kids to this hotel for years. The rooms are getting a bit dated, but everything else is great.

If you can put up with a little "funkiness" - that is old beds, furniture and decor - this is the place to stay near UC campus. Included breakfast is very good. Best of all is the lounge. Live bands (mostly blues) are often booked (multiple nites per week) and usually with no cover charge and very reasonably priced drinks. thank goodness we got an inside door and not an outside door. The staff was very helpful with that. we will be back and we would DEFINITELY reccommend this hotel!!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Boulder Outlook and would return. The kids had a blast in the pool and the food in the restaurant was good- music great! I was concerned about the condition with all the negative reviews. As long as you remember that you are not paying for and staying at the Ritz, it's all good!!

This hotel is extremely eco-friendly and proud of it. It is a nice walk to the CU campus to the convocation center and engineering center. Rooms have a fridge which was very useful. Beds are comfortable and staff is friendly.

If you are visiting the University of Colorado at Boulder, this is a great location at a great price.

I went there with wife, we did not think this place is a 3 star. Mattress was hard and uncomfortable. Hotel is old feeling, old smelling. I think it was converted from an outdoor motel into a hotel, they should have just torn the whole thing down and start all over. Pretty darn good breakfast

My girlfriend and I were pleased with the whole eco friendliness of the hotel. The jacuzzi was very large and had beautiful flagstone. We loved the indoor tropical plants, boulders, and the convenient restaurant bar located close to the pool. this hotel is good for people who wants to stay in boulder but the worst part is the room internet service. It is disgusting.

I wanted a clean, cheap, and comfortable place to stay near the university, and I got it. The rooms are normal hotel rooms, nothing fancy, but the no-waste mantra of the hotel is awesome. No wasteful junk, in-room recycling, and compostable to-go containers. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the in-hotel bar/restaurant isn't half bad. The rooms are not well maintained. The ceiling in the bathroom was falling down. The door would stick and we had to try several times before getting into our room each time. We were to have free high speed wifi but each time we got on, in five minutes it would kick me off. Upon checking out I told the hotel about all the problems and ask for a discount. […] They would not give me one. Would not recommend! Hotel had a live band that could be heard from miles away that we were not told about. We did not get any sleep.

This hotel have big window and I would not say that this is hotel. It's more like clean cheap inn. Thermostat dose not work. I think that main controller do control of heater not the thermostat in the room. I suggest to stay inside room not out side. Rooms are very small. Bathroom was gross and small. Beds were small and uncomfortable. You can hear everything going on outside your room. Only good thing about the hotel was the location. Stay at any of the other near by hotels.

In town for football game so hotel was conveniently located next to campus and not too far from Stadium. Hotel was clean, but, older hotel in need of refurbishing.

Zero waste, free bicycles, nice pool, friendly staff, comfortable, clean rooms.

Run down and not the cleanest. Their efforts to be GREEN were well-intended, but they may've taken it a bit too far. I swear I recognized furnture from my dorm room when I attended CU in the 80's. Breakfast was ok, but in a bar, floor was sticky. Not exceptional. Won't stay there again.

The Boulder Outlook looks like an old 70's/80's Holiday Inn with a coat of paint, but not much else to update or refresh it. The bed was hard, the pillows thin. The room smelled like it had been a smoking room for decades before it became a "green" hotel. The bedspread was one of those old shiny, slippery floral pattern ones that old Holiday Inns used. Our […] room was in the Annex building, with rooms opening to an outside balcony/corridor in the old motel style, at the top of metal steps. We heard other guests going up and down the metal stairs late into the night. The breakfast selection was adequate for a continental breakfast. It is served in the bar, which has no natural light and was very dark. We did not use any other amenities (the pool, hot tub, etc). I just wanted a comfortable, clean room to sleep. The Outlook is charming but could use a few changes. The most annoying thing is the lack of accessible electrical outlets within reach of the bed/night table so that if you want to plug in your phone and have it on the night table, you can't without moving the bed and unplugging the lamp. The pillows are BIG, so if you like your head kind of flat when […] sleeping, bring your own. Also, it would be nice if they had conditioner in the room (i think you can ask for it at the desk). Nothing fancy, more like a motel, and the rooms are a little old.. OK bar downstairs and free bike rental (which is a must do in Boulder). The service is excellent.

Good location and excellent breakfast. Best place to stay for walking to University of Colorado. Live music in the breakfast area and good food.

Even though there were room available in the main building, they gave us a room over in the annex building. when we entered, it had a strong smell of cigarette smoke. basically, they had sprayed air freshener blend in the smell. we left the door and window open to air out for 3 hours without any improvement. a sitting chair had a cigarette burn too. […] we had to asked for another room and the next room wasn't much better either. finally when we move to the main building, it was 100% better. room was cleaner and furniture was more updated (from early 80's to later 80's). we're not picky and we knew that we weren't at a four star hotel but non smoking room should not reek of cigarette smoke. we believe that because we paid a discounted rate, we were given a less desirable room. Hotel is older, but it was in good condition. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. It was the nicest 2 star hotel I have seen!

It looks like this was once two separate motels, which were brought together by a large overhead warehouse-style roof. Excellent, large, quality indoor pool built with imagination, with plenty of pool chairs, plus a large hot tub. Had I known about this pool I would have brought a suit, because Boulder summers can be warm. Free breakfast too good to […] be called "Continental"...nice lounge. The people who work at this place are just nice, real, honest people who bend over backward to help. The free bicycles are in good condition. We were not at all satisfied with the condition of this hotel and the cost of the room. They called the room we were in the "executive wing". Not sure how they determined that. The best word to describe the room would be shabby. We could smell the chlorine from the pool even though there was a set of rooms and hallway with closing glass doors separating […] us from the pool area. I would expect to pay $50 - $60 a night for this hotel. The staff at the hotel was very nice. Even though we booked through Hotel.com and the room was pre-paid, they did not charge us when we decided not to stay even though they could have easily charged us for one night because we had reservations for 3 nights. My stay at the Boulder Outlook Hotel turned into a very negative experience mostly because of the lack of room cleanliness. Upon checking in, I had to change my hotel room twice, and eventually upgraded to a 3rd room, which did not resolve the issue of room cleanliness. 1st room: personal items of previous visitor left on bedside table and table + […] toilette left with floating fec es. Reported to front desk ... moved to a different room. 2nd room: sheets with holes, and evident yellow stains caused by bodily fluids. Reported to front desk ... moved to a different room again. 3rd room: sheets were changed daily, but in two occasions they had holes, and yellow stains caused by bodily fluids. This place has it all and is a terrific value. Great staff, entertaining and sympathetic bartenders, live music almost every night, free use of bikes to check out the area, good pool and hot tub, short (cheap) cab ride into town.
