The box spring on one side of our king bed was all uneven and off the metal frame causing matrices to sit off the wall. ( I fixed it myself ) the water pressure sucked. And I think there was more warm air coming out of my mouth than the heater could put out. Not the greatest of experiences. One of the best Holiday Inns I have seen in a long time. A-1 service, spotless and efficient and even w some character. Only minus is that while beds are OK, they are not tops. Location is superb. One block from Old Sacramento out one door. Out the other you're in a new mall. We love the location and convenience of this hotel, but the beds are horrible. Everything was clean and well decorated, but the bed was hard as a brick. I think we need to find another hotel at this point.

Hotel has recently gone through a remodel. Rooms were very nice, quiet & comfortable. The only problem I had was our Waiter for Breakfast, poor service, had to ask 2 times on several occassions & the Restaurant wasn't busy.

Everything was excellent except noisy neighborhood such a freeway right outside of the windows.

My room was a bit on the small side and you can't open the windows but it was clean and located near restaurants, amenities etc. The area is a little more rundown than the last time I stayed here but all in all I'd not hesitate to stay here again. Very centrally located for my business purposes.

Everything was great, nice place...but, they made a mistake at the front desk and gave the person checking in after us the same room number AND the the same key card! Could have been really bad if we hadn't still been in the room when that person used his key to get into OUR room!

This is a major, well respected hotel chain, so my review is only a caution to anyone with sensitivities. The only smoking floor is #3. We were on the 15th floor. Our room smelled and had air (non-) quality like we were in an old bar. The staff was very kind and accomodating to allow us to try 3 different rooms, but all had the same issue. The hotel […] uses a central ventilation system, so if someone is smoking in non-smoking rooms it flows thur the whole system. Room was nice. Hotel lobby was average, but the bar was always busy. Decent location within walking distance to food. Common areas and amenities need some TLC.

Perfect location! Close to everything! Just a walk away from the capital, right next to the mall, we needed a drugstore and found just a couple of blocks down! Great place to stay if you're looking for a place to stay if running the CIM. We usually stay at the Embasy Suites but decided to stay at the Holiday Inn because it was almost $100 cheaper?? The quality was equally as good and the service was even better. We received 2 breakfast (which made the cost even less) and even though we got the breakfast bar the service was above our expectations!!

Convenient to Downtown Plaza for shopping, Starbucks, Old Sacramento, and a quick bite. Easy off the freeway. The staff is friendly, but not the most lively of places. I didn't like how the curtains don't close for the morning sun.

Stayed for one night and was very happy with the overall experience. Very comfortable room.

I was only at this hotel for a few hours-- an overnight stay. Overall it was a little better than average. It is well located for getting around downtown, and I felt safe staying there as a single woman. The room had an intense "hotel smell"-- hard to describe what that is-- but it could use an air purifier or something. Other than that, everything […] was clean and comfortable. Nice!! The hotel was clean, staff friendly and accommodating. Old Sac and superior shopping within walking distance, taxis available and waiting, great views, easy to find, surprisingly quiet!!! A great experience!! And for those caffeine addicts, like myself, Starbucks - literally a 2 minute stroll :)

I liked the fact that is was adjacent to the Westfield Mall.

Clean hotel. In the Downtown, close to the capital, Old Town, and shopping. Easy freeway access.

The room was large, clean and comfortable. Near Old Sacramento and the Sacramento River.

The staff were very helpful and the room is clean and smells good. But there are several turn offs.. the bathroom door makes so much noice every time you open it, there was no ironing board, and the water in the shower is kinda slow. I would recommend it for travelers on business trips. Great location, just off 5 freeway.

Not bad for the price. The location was great, you can walk to oldtown Sacramento or catch a quick cab to any of the midtown restaurants. The pool was clean, but very small and the area around the pool was very lack luster; the view was the side of the building with no windows, and no bar. Great location, very nice hotel for the money, comfy beds, very clean! I suggest you ask for a room that does not face the freeway, otherwise you will hear freeway noise all night long. After I put on the A/C though, couldn't hear the freeway noise.

Clean room, comfortable beds, immaculate bathroom and centrally located. I would stay here away in a heartbeat. The maids make their housekeeping rounds a bit early, so just remember to hang your do not disturb sign.

Hotel right by the Highway, it was too loud from the traffic. Staff worked very hard to get us a room we were happy with. Great staff but not a location where I'd want to stay again.

We stayed three nights and four days in the hotel. We liked the location and being close to Old Sacramento, the restaurants and shops as well as close to the Downtown Mall. We were able to walk to the Capitol to take a tour. Our room was comfortable and clean, the hotel was quiet and the food in the restaurant was very good. My first time to stay at this hotel. For a business traveler that likes to use Amtrak, this was an enjoyable stay.

The employees at the front desk are great and helpful. Everytime I stay there the ladies behind the counter make me laugh and start the stay off great! A+++

A bit pricey considering the concierge service does NOT call for Shuttle's. They give you the number. Zach in particular, said it was because the shuttle needs credit card # etc but when I called, that was NOT true. My room was right next to the elevators so that was a bit noisy. Other than that the location was great. Central to my business needs. […] Nice mall outside the doors. Old Sacramento with shops and restaurants across the way thru the tunnel. Room was clean. Right across from Old Sacramento, next to a small, very small mall, (basically a Macys and a Brewpub)

Within walking distance of Amtrak station and next door to a multi story mall with movie theaters, Macy's and restaurants/food court. About 10 blocks from State Capitol. Because it is near "downtown" Sacramento -- some parts of adjacent neighborhood look a little sketchy.

Close to noisy freeway and bad service at front desk.
