"OK for what it is"
Overall the Clarion Belle was fine and comfortable enough for a one night motel type stay. The staff was very nice. The hotel is somewhat isolated, buried back behind a cemetery and located by an interstate. The room was fairly well noise insulated so most highway traffic noise was kept out. On the down side, climate control was an issue because the […] heating unit fan kept running even when not in heating mode with the unit noise making it hard to sleep. We were very pleased with the accommodations at this hotel. We needed a pet friendly hotel that was clean and comfortable and we have no complaints. The condition was excellent as was the service and friendliness of the staff. In addition, there was room service, which was great because we had our Whippet girl with us and could not go out to a restaurant. The wine was spoiled and the food was terrible but I arrived there late from work and tired and there is nothing too close so that is all you have.
My family was visiting my son in college and chose this hotel because it was fairly close to the school. I thought the front desk staff should have been a bit more responsible with properly updating our room key for our two day stay. Arriving late on our second night to find out that our room key didn't work was very inconvenient. Also the hotel needs […] to be more generous as far as providing the basic bathroom toiletries (one soap bar, one shampoo, one conditioner is not enough). We loved our stay at the Belle and were most warmly welcomed by Gary at check-in. The hotel is most conveniently situated near the Amtrak station in Wilmington. The room was beautifully clean and well stocked with all we could possibly need. The complimentary breakfast was the best.

Our Garmin GPS could not find the hotel even though it accepted the address. It said "arriving" when we were still 1/2 mile away. In busy traffic, this is not a good start. Garmin needs to be contacted for an update. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The front desk folks were very gracious and courteous. I had a light meal at the bar and that […] was very good. "The Belle"
It's was clean and well suited for the business class. This hotel isn't suited for a family that is traveling on vacation. The hotel has a low neighborhood rating due to if you leave the hotel and travel approx. 1 mile to the right you will run into the seedy part of town.
The reason I gave only 2 for quality of service was because I stayed at the hotel 26th and 27th of May and I never had anyone come to my room to make bed , change towels etc.also the front line reception staff were very unfriendly. My only complaint is that the building is close to the highway. Ask for a room on opposite side of building.
