Location.
The 36-story Grand Hyatt San Francisco Union Square, one of only two hotels that stands on Union Square, is located in San Francisco, Calif., adjacent to Union Square's shops and galleries. The hotel stands one block from San Francisco's cable cars and two blocks from Chinatown. Nob Hill and the Westfield San Francisco Centre are within four blocks of this hotel. The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is located six blocks away.
Hotel Features.
Panoramic views of the city and bay are featured at Grandviews Restaurant, serving California-style cuisine, traditional favorites, signature dishes and vintage wines. Live piano music is presented most evenings at the adjacent Grandviews Lounge and Terrace, boasting oriental décor and antiques. The informal Mezzanine Café opens for breakfast and serves coffee, juice and light fare. A business center and function rooms are available, as is wireless Internet access for a fee. A 24-hour fitness center, located on the 25th floor, contains cardiovascular equipment, free weights, complimentary fruit and chilled towels.
Guestrooms.
The 685 guestrooms boast mahogany-finished furnishings, upholstered armchairs and large windows that frame views of downtown San Francisco. Upper-tier floors afford skyline views. Rooms are decorated in earth-toned hues of tan, blue, chocolate brown and black. Hyatt Grand Beds feature 250-thread count triple sheeting, pillowtop mattresses and a selection of European, throw and roll pillows. Rooms contain minibars and coffeemakers. Bathrooms boast Portico toiletries and mini-televisions. Guestrooms include cable television and MP3 adaptors. High-speed wired and wireless Internet access is available for a fee.

Miellyttävä pieni hotelli kohtuuhintaan. Huone oli valoisa, avara, siisti, kaikki toimi hyvin. Paras mannermainen aamiainen niistä hotelleista, missä ollaan tällä matkalla oltu: tavanomaisen "pulla-aamiaisen" lisäksi oli erilaisia pikapuurohiutaleita, jogurttia sekä hedelmiä.

Hotellin sijainti oli tosi hyvä. Yöllä pientä meteliä, mutta oltiinhan suurkaupungissa. Ruokapaikat lähellä ja hyvä aamiaispaikka ihan vieressä.

Hinta-laatusuhde oli mielestäni kohdallaan. Tämänhintaiselta hotellilta ei tietenkään voi odottaa viiden tähden laatua, mutta huone olis siisti ja riittävän tilava, ja sijainti oli erinomainen.

Hotelli sijaitsi kivalla pienemmällä paikkakunnalla noin 20 minuutin ajomatkan päästä SF:n downtownista. Autolla oli kätevä liikkua (hotellissa ilmainen parkkipaikka!). Mutta myös vajaan 2 km:n päästä kulkevalla BART:llakin pääsee helposti SF:n keskustaan. Hotelli oli todella siisti ja hyväkuntoinen. Myös hintaan sisältyvä aamiainen oli kattava (tarjolla mm. puuroa, hedelmiä, jogurttia). Hotellin henkilökunta oli hyvin ystävällistä. Suosittelen hotellia etenkin San Franciscon automatkaajille!

Grandviews Lounge - Adjacent to Grandviews Restaurant, with equally dramatic views. Popular choice for after-work cocktails and appetizers, luscious desserts. Open daily from late morning until late night.
Mezzanine Café - Coffee, tea, juice, and pastries served in a relaxed setting. Floor-to-ceiling windows facing Stockton Street and Ruth Asawa's Hyatt on Union Square Fountain. Table and sofa seating. Open mornings only.
Room service is available from 6 AM until midnight (hours subject to change).
Guests enjoy complimentary access to the state-of-the-art Hyatt Stay Fit Gym on the 35th floor. The gym is open 24 hours and includes cardio machines with individual TV monitors, resistance equipment, free weights, medicine balls, and refreshing peppermint-scented face towels.
For a challenging hill climb with extraordinary vistas, start at the base of Nob Hill, one block from the hotel, on the other side of Union Square. Walk up steep Powell Street and turn left onto California Street. Take a breather at Huntington Park, with its beguiling Fountain of the Tortoises.
For a change of pace, walk or jog along the waterfront Embarcadero, easily accessible via the F-line streetcar, three blocks from the hotel.

Hotel is under a remodel, wish i had know this prior to booking. Maid service was never prompt came to clean room around 4pm each day? Not kosher when we were out of the room the entire day. Guess the new guests get priority over those checked in....

Windy night and hotel rattled because of wind. It was similar to a cruise ship creaking. I hope it is not like that normally. Beautiful remodled room. Breakfast buffet was very good.
Very nice hotel in a very convenient location. Just a few blocks from great shopping, restaurants and Chinatown. We walked almost everywhere we wanted to go and it was easy to catch the trolley or the muni in case you wanted to travel to different parts of the city. "great hotel"
Great hotel. The newly done rooms are modern and clean. Our room had an amazing view of the city. Had the automatic shades that go up and down with a push of a button. Parking is across the street at about $35/night. The only slight problem with our room was that the water pressure from the shower was really low. Other than that, had a great time.
"SF Grand Hyatt"
Fantastic stay. we had HIGH expectations and the hotel excelled!!! The bell staff, conceirge, front desk team, cleaning staff all did a great job. This hotel is close to everything. We will use this hotel every time we return to SF.

"Highly recommend for the everyday chic"

Would defiantly stay here again.... Spent the first two nights of our three night stay at the Palace Hotel for a business conference. Then moved to the Hyatt for the last night in the city after the conference ended and was very pleased. We left our first hotel at 9:00 am and walked the short three blocks to the Hyatt. We were happy the staff left […] us check in early and the room was ours for the entire day. The staff went out of their way during the stay to exceed our expectations. We needed ice packs frozen for our return trip, they came to the room, picked them up, froze them, and returned them the next morning upon request. The beds were very comfortable, the room was very clean, nicely decorated, and new feeling. Perfect location, right in the heart of Union Square. Restaurant/Lounge on 36th floor has some of the best views in the city. Even if you do not stay here you should have a drink in the lounge. "Great Stay! Conveniently located, will come again"
This hotel is conveniently located for all sites in San Fran, right on the doorstep of Union Square & great for catching all transport links. Room plush, bed extremely comfortable (and I am a person who has chronic insomnia) loved the black out blind. Liked the fact that they had a vanity area as most hotels will have mirror & possibly a desk/table […] but usually not near one another. Couldn't really fault this hotel, bar/restaurant on 36th floor has fantastic views of city (however bit expensive but you are in touristy city) Concierge staff are phenomenal with their local knowledge & site-seeing suggestions, REALLY made our trip. I think it was Louise (she has been there 22 years, there is nothing she doesn't know!) Staff extremely polite & helpful with all requests. The only thing I could say which was disappointing (which I wouldn't lower my rating for) was that they advertise that the rooms have a fridge. As we are ones to bring stuff back to the room & buy basic groceries locally to cut eating out costs stating they had fridges was misleading as you could only fit maybe a bottle of milk & maybe (2) other drinks in it, so not much really. "To good to be true"
Overal a decent hotel. But from the description on hotels.com it was not accurate. Rooms were small and no tv like it stated in the bathroom. For the amount of money they charge a night I feel like I git ripped off. However if your just looking for a nice place to stay in the center of union station this hotel will suit that. Comfortable and clean rooms but very basic hotel. No frills for a Grand Hyatt - nothing grand about it. Long queues for breakfast - hopelessly inadequate facilities. Great location - next to Union Square & shopping area.
We had a wonderful stay at the Hyatt. The location can't be beat and the rooms are spacious and clean. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Good location at Union Square and has a Starbuck's directly across the street! Short drive to most everything else. On side note, don't waste time or money on the trolleys!!!! Trust me. Take a cab, take the bus or rent a car.

Nice hotel with good views. Near union square ....lots of shopping. Daily tours stop by at union square ideal for family. Close to BART station on powell st for transfer to Airport, Oakland and Richmond areas. Six blocks down the lane is tender loin area which has high crime rate (avoid stroll at nights).

"Grand Hyatt Union Square, great affordable choice"
Best spot in the city, get a room overlooking Union Square. The hotel was recently renovated and is as stylish as any W. Highly, highly recommended, especially around the holidays when you can look down on the Christmas tree, Macy's and ice skating rink in Union Square.

"Good value noisy aircon!"
Great hotel and extremely well located, Though I have a feeling that they give the lower floors, rear facing rooms to Hotel.com bookings as a matter of course. The aircon fan was really noisy at low speed but wokred fine on high. Breakfast buffet can be extremeky busy around 8 - 830 with a delay being seated,

"Great Hotel Experience"
Arrived early (by11 a.m.) room was available and ready. Checked out by 2 p.m. without problem. Extremly courteus and friendly reception and concierge.

"NOISY ROOMS, small rooms"
Rooms are renewed but common areas and front desk still very old looking.... We won't stay in this hotel anymore... for the same price, we can stay at the Westin, a much better quality hotel... We brought our little puppy in our trip and he got super-terrified with all the noises... the elevator was super-loud... it does not stop making loud noises... […] We had to change rooms but due to the design of its floors, no matter where you stay, all rooms are loud! If you stay floos <6, you get all the loud noise from street level. Also, there is not place for dogs to walk around to do their necessities... Anyhow, we realized this hotel is too expensive for the quality of their rooms and amenities... Good luck! Lisätietoja

Great for business and personal travel...close to a lot: BART, bus, mall and Walgreens. Food in the restaurant is a bit pricy but there are a lot of alternatives on the street level.

The hotel was in a great position, very clean all the staff were very helpful and attentive, would definatley stay here again and recommend it to other people. We had a great time in San Francisco, but if going take some warm clothes it can get very cold in the evenings, we stayed in September 2011.

I highly recommend the Grand Hyatt at Union Square. It was so convenient. I stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms. It was beautiful. I loved the location being so convenient to shopping, cable car, restaurants. It was spotless clean.
