We stayed at the Lancaster London for about a week in November, and were delighed with the service, the friendly and courteous staff, the lovely hotel itself and all the amenities. However, the one small critique I have is that the beds were quite hard (some don't mind this) and so were the pillows. The hotel could improve by simply having a choice […] of different pillow types, as some hotels have already done (Marriott, for one) across the board. But that was the only small thing that I would change - otherwise, all very nice and lovely! Great location for walking in Hyde Park, hopping on the tube or bus or grabbing a taxi - also good shopping and good (cheap) eats along Bayswater - Whiteley's Mall nearby at Queensway and some good restaurants in the area. The Lancaster London is in a great location right around the corner from the Lancaster Gate Underground station. It is also right across the street from Hyde Park and a 7 minute from Paddington Station. The room size was pretty decent (smaller than American hotel rooms, but "big" for European standards), but if you are traveling with large suitcases, […] it will be a bit crowded in the room. There's nowhere to really lay a large suitcase flat; it's either on the study table, luggage rack, or floor. Carry-on size suitcases will fit just fine and leave room for moving about in the room. There is free cable in the rooms with plenty of channels. Housekeeping comes to each room around 7pm-9pm for a turndown service, letting you pick and choose some extra cookies, teas, and coffee (which is a really nice extra). The staff was very friendly and the Thai restaurant on the first floor was very tasty. The beds were great and the blankets were super soft. My only wish on my wishlist is that they had some form of complimentary internet/wifi access. It's fine that the rooms don't have access (it's 17pounds/day), however, even the business center charges for internet usage. So, if you need to check in to flights, check e-mail, or anything, you will have to go somewhere else. Overall, this was a good hotel in a great location. Lisätietoja

Walk to Hyde Park, several excellent Pubs, street shopping, banks, all sources of transportation. Fair price for a decent hotel. Excellent services, friendly satf.

Our stay at the Lancaster Hotel was very satisfactory. We complained about a water noise, and this was immediately corrected. The location is excellent, and only a hundred yards or so from the Lancaster tube station.

Rooms were decent sized and the surrounding neighborhood offered enough dining choices when we wanted to stay close to home for breakfast or dinner. Good pub close by too.

My son and I stayed here for 6 nights and enjoyed ourselves. The room was clean tidy and comfy and best of all had great air conditioning, which was really needed as London was experiencing a heat wave of days near 30c. The 'turn down' service of a night time was unexpected and a bit of fun for us. We chose to have our breakfast at the Island Bar of […] a morning, rather than the buffet breakfast. The meals, imo were of a high quality and the staff were great, after 6 days they really felt like family. The hop on hop off buses have a stop over the road along with general buses. Lancaster Gate Tube is part of the central line which means you have a greater chance of changing trains somewhere no matter where you are heading. Easy walk from Oxford Street and Harrods can easily be reached with a walk across the park. If you are fit and into walking, a lot of London can be reached very easily from the Lancaster. Well situated hotel, opposite Hyde Park. Ten minutes from both Oxford Street and Paddington Station. Nice clean room but I don't really think that the room deserved title of 'superior'

Good points: convenient location to Paddington Train Station and London/Heathrow Express, just a 5 minute walk. Lots of cafe's, restaraunts and bars in the area. London sightseeing hop on-off bus tour stop just across the road with tickets available from hotel. Taxi rank just outside the hotel. We did have some problems with the room when we got there, but they were fixed very quickly to our satisfaction: 1. bad shower head - was replaced in 10 minutes by a very nice maintenance guy. 2. the bed was too soft for us - we were upgraded to a better room, with no extra charge. the staff of the hotel was very nice and helpful. the location is […] just great. it's across the road from hyde park, and above the lanchaster gate underground station. i would definitely recommend this hotel. Reception staff are unhelpful, asked for a non smoking room and they put me in a smoking room. if you have a complaint they say sorry theres nothing we can do. there is no management running the hotel and he is not available for you to see him. the pillows are like rocks extremely uncomfortable. the bed moves when your sleeping on it as theres wheels […] underneath and its not fixed to the wall. there is no difference with park and city view all of them are the same, but with different prices, all are the same view...there are no facilities in the hotel such as gym or a pool, and you even have to pay a deposit for the umbrella if you want to take one out. no shops in sight very secluded location. probabely the worst hotel i stayed in london Lisätietoja

Best thing? Convenient for Paddington Station, a 3 minute walk. Rooms are tired but very clean and reasonable size. We were given smoking rooms which we had not asked for and they seemed surprised that we found this unacceptable. Easy to get to - just 2 minutes walk from Lancaster Gate tube station. Very helpful staff. Room cleaned daily. No problems at all - will definitely stay here again .....if I get the same sort of deal as I did for this trip (otherwise, it will be back to hotels at the cheaper end of the scale!)

This is a good, solid hotel located in a quiet neighbourhood, across the streeet from Hyde Park and next door to the subway station. Friendly staff, too much so sometimes. Breakfast is OK but overpriced. Comforters are too hot for summer, but no light blanket is available. And the carpet is horribly stained. This hotel in great spot for easy access to tube and buses very happy with my room on 14th floor. Used Island restaurant for breakfast a couple of times nice food at reasonable price would use hotel again and recommend to family and friends.

The hotel is certainly neat, clean with a friendly staff but the best they have to offer is certainly their location. Located right across the street from Hyde Park and a 15 min. walk to the shopping areas of Regent and Oxford street. Heathrow express at Paddington station is 5 min. away or the subway is located in the same block as the hotel. There […] is also bus-stations right outside Lancaster. I was very happy with this hotel. Right next to a Tube station and a 5 minute walk to Paddington to catch the express to the airport. When we arrived, our room wasn't ready so they took us to the lounge for a free drink while it was being finished. The room was plenty big and bath was nice-I've had much smaller in Rome and other cities. My only concern was a hard bed but I got used to it. The lobby staff were quite helpful throughout our 8 day stay, booking theatre tickets for us and giving directions when needed. We did not try the restaurants so have no comment other than they were quite pricy especially when you can literally go across the street to a great french or Indian resturant or a few block for a coffee shop or several pubs. Situated on top of the underground and close to paddington station we found the position perfect. With hyde park across the road large open spaces were easy to find.It's also at the bus stop for the london tour buses. Hotel was very comfortable with large rooms. Very good experience.

Great hotel..One downside was the bathroom was very small and the shwr over the very deep bath made getting in and out quite a challenge for the not quite so young!!....The daily internet rate of 17pounds was too steep even for a number of business people...plus if you wanted to print anything out whilst using the business centre was one pound PER PAGE!!!!!!....We […] are staying there again and would definitely recommend this hotel..for the location alone....Tub on the doorstop and and bus as well...Concierge very helpful.... Check in was easy and fast. Room great and with a lovely view of the city and Hyde Park. Great location for central London and the central tube line is right outside the hotel - great for getting into London or you can walk 10 mins and you will be in Oxford Street. Just across the road from Hyde Park and right on top of Lancaster Gate tube station. Well kept hotel with helpful staff. On the first floor a beautiful Tai Restaurant, lounge/bar for afternoon tea, drinks and appetizers. very nice view of Hyde park. Right on top of the Lancaster gate Metro stop so very easy to see London. room nice and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Minor down side issues were sluggish response while checking in, the bathroom and tub are VERY slippery. I would recommend this place.

This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. There was trash left in the room from the last guest, the toilet didn't flush there was only burning hot water in the shower. Called guest servies multiple times about the toilet when someone finally arrived all they said is we have to wait to flush the toilet. We were lucky if we could get the […] toilet to completely flush once a day. We were in London in August so it was humid and around 80 degrees out would have been nice to get back to the room and take a cold shower but the water was either burning hot or so hot you couldn't take a shower. I stayed at the Lancaster because of its proximity to a tube station on the central line (less than a minutes walk) and its proximity to paddington (5 minutes walk) and it delivered on that but no more. Check on took a while and the hotel itself is a bit dated, I paid extra for a "park view" room and got a partial view of the park, mainly of surrounding […] buildings though. Staff are friendly enough and helpful, hotel bar was dire and rediculously redicoulously over priced. However it is literaly right on top of a tube station and paddington is nearby. We stayed for 4 nights here recently. The concierge and door men were very friendly, and fairly knowledgable. While we were there there was some sort of middle eastern royalty that dominated their attention and some of the guests were less than good mannered. The location is very good - close to Paddington but not too close so as to be congested and […] loud. We thought this hotel was good value & a great location. We were given a room with great views of the city & Kensington park.The room was a good size, comfortable & clean. The hotel is within a few minutes walk of Lancaster Gate tube station. Staff were friendly & helpful. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again

The Lancaster is overlooking Hyde Park and right on the Central underground rail line. It was little more expensive, but the location, clean comfortable room were worth it. The Kings of Leon, Bon Jovi, Stevie Nicks and Rod Stewart... an unexpected bonus! Hotel bar was expensive! But there are so many pubs and places to eat within a short walk or underground ride, that it really didn't matter. The Swan Pub is a block away.
